[Music] He tears through the streets like a thunder’s roar. Rubber burns and the engine soarses. Rev bomb rides with a wild man’s pride. The world can’t keep up no matter how it tries. Rev bomb’s motorbikes got a heart of steel. Wheels spinning faster than the fear we feel. Lights flash like fire in the dead of night. He’s a rebel on wheels chasing freedom. Morning all. It’s Friday morning out on this and the new version of the Lex Moto Echo. It’s called the L5. Nice little 50 cc scooter these and readily available. Great if you want to uh start riding a bike and you don’t want to do gears. Twist and go. LED all round and you’ve got bulbed headlight as well. Now, best thing with one of these 30 mph, plenty of storage under the seat. You’re not going to get a full face helmet, but it is so simplistic. You’ve got start button, hazards, horn indicator, lights. That is it. Little key lock. And under there, just looking down, it’s got a USB and a little pocket. Put your phone in. How about that? Main stand, side stand, and everything is in kilometers. There we go. So, 2 L of fuel in it at the moment for ride test. And then we top it up. So, that will get you half a tank. Miles an hour on the inside. So, round about 9 is 30 mph. That’s all you’re going to get. Indicators are at the bottom. Nice little telltales that show up there. main beam and of course your engine management light. Now, this is Euro 5.5 mirrors are adequate because me with my big shoulders. I’ve got half a half half a shoulder in the mirror. So, you do have to move your head to look into that mirror. But, as I always say, shoulder checks, don’t worry about mirrors. Right, because it’s 30 mph, I am not going to go down the dual carriage way, even though you can. and just wait for the white car to clear there. I’ve got plenty of room behind to get out before that car comes down. Now, getting it up to 30 does take you about 10 seconds on a twist and go, but if you’re pottering around and you want to do backwards and forwards to college or you want to get to school on it or get to work on it or you’re an older rider and you’ve had your license before 2001, you don’t need a CBT. You can ride this on your what they call the grandfather rides and you haven’t got to worry about a speed camera. Now climbing a hill you’re going to get 25 mph which is what I am doing on the flat you will get 30 but great little bike. These are really reliable if they look after them. Now with the 50cc’s it is slightly different different servicing intervals. So it is first service 3 months or 300 miles on these because it’s a 50. So make sure you don’t follow the 125 rule. It’s 500. It’s 300 on a 50 and then every,000 miles or second service at 6 months and then you can do yearly or 3,000 miles. uh three sorry 6 months 1,000 miles and every year 1,000 miles. But servicing on these is really easy to do. Plugs really easy to get to. I’m going to get out before the ped. Another one of those what we call mammals. Middle-aged men in Lyra. [Music] And he didn’t jump a red light either. Makes a change. There’s so many. There was a massive great pack of them on the way back from Oakley last night all over the road and then half of them decided to turn left, half decided to turn right and they were blocking the road, annoying the hell out of car drivers. [Music] And believe it or not, they were free of breast at times. Yes, three of them right at the front of the pack. All taking up the road. Why they don’t ride like single file? I don’t know. Or staggered then fine. but completely block the road so no one can get past and we’re all doing 10 m an hour. Well, Rev didn’t. I went straight around the outside and filtered. There we go. So, we’re doing 30 mph. We got 7K on the bike climbing the hill. It’s going to drop to about 25. But ever so easy to manage one of these. You can sling these things around corners. They corner like they’re on rails, these things. The suspension is mid to hard. You do feel every bump on one of these, but it’s a good thing cuz you get to feel what the road is doing or get to feel how the bike is connected to the road. But you can filter between those sleeping policemen as well cuz it is thin. It’s narrow. It will fit down the side of your house. So if you’ve got a gate, it will clear a 32-in gate. Ideal to get it into your back passage or down the side of the house. Wrong, wrong term there. No, I should have not said back passage. Down the side of the house or around the back of the garden. Yeah, it will fit down an alley. So, you can fit this down the side of a house cuz it’s got a really slim profile. Nice and easy. Great for fitting on the back of your motor home. So if you got a motor home and you go away and you want to get the obligatory loaf of bread, pint of milk on that, put one of these on the back of your camper, scoot down the shop on it, put it back on the camper, away you go. Great little thing for just pottering around on and you cany up, but it’s obviously going to drop the speed right down probably about 20 mph. Excuse me. But right cough this morning and uh probably the fact that I’ve started to give up smoking now again. I’m not smoking that much. Too busy in the garage, but I am back on the Polo Mints now. Oh, lovely, lovely. But a great little run out to Oakley last night. So, if you follow the bike clubs on what we do, we do a lot of different bike clubs during the week. So, we do Loun Arms, we do Oakley, we do Toxic Throttle, we do all the different bike meets, but uh we do tend to get out quite a lot. So, we did Oakley last night on a Thursday. Met up with Steve Slow Bones. And we also met up with uh BMW Gas Black. Yay. Gus is a lovely bloke. And he had his little prize from the freebie Friday giveaway, which was good. So, he’s got his little bag now. And he got a video of me coming out of Oakley as well. And a couple of photos. They’re all on the page. Anyway, go and have a look at them. This Saturday we are at Oakley again. It’s the 20th anniversary of Oakley. Yes, Oakley’s been going 20 years. I’ve been going there for about the last 10 when I get the chance to get there. But everybody at Oakley knows me now and loads of people there. And the guys from Cooper were there. Everyone says, “Oh, it’s Cooper B.” No, it’s Cooper. Couperb that’s what they call it. So it’s Cooper B. Couperb. But uh caught up with them guys last night. Now they run a little bike shop in Bedford. So right the other end of Milton Kees. But it’s great to catch up with other mechanics and other bike sellers and have a chat with the dealers. And they were saying even they are struggling for work at the moment. There’s a lot of bike servicing but bike sales are right through the floor at the moment. Well, we’re doing all right. We’re selling loads, load of water everywhere, but everybody’s having a good time on the bikes at the moment. We’re right mid bike season. Bike season normally goes to about the end of October, beginning of November, and then everyone starts putting, “Oh, it’s too cold to ride. Can’t go out.” A lot of us are all year riders, especially me. I ride nearly every couple of days. And uh whether it’s on these or whether it’s on Rocky. Now, if you seen last night’s video, we had an engine light on. We solved it. Uh very simple fix. If you own a Tiger Explorer, you get a low battery and your engine light comes off. Two ways to do it. Up on the uh mode switch and hold the information button at the same time will show you the codes. Didn’t know that. And if you want to clear anything, on and off with the key three times. Get the engine hot. Let it run for 5 minutes. Let’s get the engine warm. Turn the bike off 30 seconds on and off with the key three times. Reset all your codes. [Music] Excuse me. Right. So, we are going to uh head down here. We’re going to do another lap around town and take in some of the sights of Milton Kes. [Music] Let’s do something different, shall we? We shall go up here. I am going to go a left here by Perry’s and then we’re going to do a right. Why am I going to do a right? Because we’re going to take it up to Staple Hall Road. This is my little cut through as I call it. Weird little road this one. Very weird little road. Very posh houses down here though. And uh one of my many ex-girlfriends lives down there. didn’t last long with her. Yes. Because her dad found out her dad found out I was a motorcycle rider and got done for speeding and he happened to be the chief of police and he’s like, “Oh, you’re not going out with him. He’s a hoodlam. He’s a biker.” Well, that ended that then. Oh dear. But I still see her. I still She gives me occasional wave every now and then. How you doing? Yes. Been married 24 years. How about you? Still single. More fool you then? Right. Look at this posh houses down here. Dodge Ram. He’s got a Bentley. He’s got a uh F-Type Jaguar. Posh posh house. A lot of posh cars down here. Range Rovers and big lorry. Get out the way. Out the way of the potholes. Come down here. Come past the builders. Get rid of them potholes in the middle. This is pothole city down here. Look at the state of this road. Another one. At least I can check the suspension out. Uh, we are stuck behind the obligatory learner doing when I see me speedo when it’s not shaking around. 15 mph. Oh, you’re doing well, love. Right. Are we going to go left? Are we going right? Oh. Oh, she’s going that way. Right. We’re going to go down here. Get rid of that learner out the way. All right, check right because this is a stupid little roundabout. This one, you have to uh clear that side. And then you’ve got to try and clear that one as well. Whoopdedoo. And let’s all just block the roundabout. Come on, folks. He’s going straight over. Gives me access to go. Nothing coming. I am going to hammer across there before that van comes around and up through Elby Street. Oh, look. Road closed. Digging it up. Uh, another one road closed. Digging it up. And I shall be in finish work tonight. I shall be in there. I should be going to Aroomas for my regular Friday night Chinese sweet and sour pork, please. Cantonese style with a nice house special fried rice. [Music] Another Uber there then. And everybody’s got to divert down here, which means they’re all coming past the garage this morning because you’ve all got to go up Victoria Road, which is the next road down and up past my shop. Right, we got 12 on the bike. Just what we need. Couple of miles when we uh customer comes to collect. I’m going to get back have my first cup of coffee of the day cuz I haven’t had one yet. And it’s probably around about uh4 to 8 by about now. So nothing like being up bright and early in the morning. Come on little bike. Let’s go. 30 m an hour. The motorcycle shop is now a carpet shop. That used to be Mission Motorcycles. There’s my shop. Bob’s in there behind the counter probably. And then up past the dog shop. Mucky pups. Britannia for those mucky pups. Oh, good. Bin man’s bin then. There we go. At least I know all me bins have been emptied then. And oh, look. All the Lex Moto boxes in the back of his truck. Oh, great. Love it. Love it. Right, back to the garage we go. Let’s put this one on the front yard with a rather dirty Rocky who’s probably sitting out there now. Yeah, there he is. Rocky’s out on the yard. You got the R66, the LX, and the LXS. They’re all waiting for final test rides. I’ve got the Suzuki out this morning. We’re going to clean that one up, and that’s going on eBay if you want to buy a bike. That’s up for spares or repairs. And I think that’s going for about uh 800 quid or something stupid like that cuz uh it runs, but it needs a lot of work. It needs some the carbs adjusting. I haven’t got the time. So, if you want a secondhand Jexer, give me a shout. And the alarm is going off in my pocket, which means it is quart 8. So, we’ll see you on the next one. We’re out on that and that in a minute. So, until then, be well, ride safe, and from Rev, it’s a big goodbye from me. [Applause]
