So the cargo trike is going to be pretty loaded up. I’m looking at over 500 pounds altogether adding up the rig and passengers and cargo. I’m pushing the limits of the machine and my body and so we will be going slow. I need to maximize my enjoyment and minimize problems so I’m waiting for local area heat to be at a bearable level throughout the day for hours of riding.
Looking at heat projections over future weeks, early September will be the earliest bearable time to travel under manual power in the sun. That might not even be possible, depending on how the weeks’ weather layout. Resupplying might push my departure forward and if it cools off more by then that’s OK. The important thing is not to leave too late because I need to travel before the rainy season. I’m running out of time to get ready because I need to be ready and poised to start peddling my butt off.
