currently I guess morning yes from a very sunny and warm eastborn sea front so we’re here to just go for a stroll have a chat I say a stroll I’m on the scooter I’m on the mobility scooter and I’m going to switch the camera around cuz have to get out of the way right now because here comes I don’t know if you guys can see this yet I’ll just I’m having to back up comes the uh the doto train which is a land train here in bom it takes you from one end of the seafront to the other it’s just coming past us now so I thought I’d let that pass full of tourists already look and I guess what we’ll do is we’ll just follow on behind that because it’s technically in the cycle Lane I guess so we’ll just take a look um a stroll a go along the sea front if the camera is a bit too jerky or bouncy just please let me know and I’ll take this off its stand and I’ll hold it in fact I’ll probably do that anyway so just give me a minute hello hello hello I’m just spinning you around ever so slightly and then we’re going to get stuck yep we’re stuck right now we’re all good we we’re handheld we’re handheld so we can just go and it’ll be a lot smoother we’re on the mobility scooter today and we’re just on this beautiful seaside resort Seaside town and we’re going along and we’ll talk you through it we’ll we’ll we’ll tell you some tidbits about the town and about what’s going on along here I’ve lived here for most of my life so yeah this is a a quintessential holiday destination here on the south coast and I guess that’s because we have the air show we’re quite famous for our for Day Air Show I me look at these Beach Huts these are relatively new by the way um and they’re all privately owned or rented and they’re relatively new here on the sea front oh pick up a little bit of speed as we go along but we started today our adventure down at an old now derelict uh kids playground called Fort Fun and when I was a child it was an indoor soft play there were outdoor rides there were go-karts at one point and they installed a water park but that’s all gone now as uh times change and things go bust and things go bankrupt that’s what happens so on this little trip we will go I guess at least as far as the peer we’ll see how I’m feeling when I get there so I don’t know if you can see he’s one here in the distance but we’ll be be traveling at a steady speed of around 4 mph all the way down towards the pier on a lovely day like this you can’t help but look at the Waters of the south coast and see just how beautiful they really are living in this town I very much take it for granted and I think most people do this is a sort of water sports place they do a lot of uh sailing and things I guess but not just this town but living in a Seaside town in general I guess people can and do take it for granted and I think that’s simply because this is our view most dates right and then people that live in inner cities in big cities they have to plan holidays to the seaside and things like that and we do sort of take it for granted I mean this has been my view for 35 years pretty much and it’s it is a lovely lovely view especially on a day like this when you can really appreciate it I mean I’m just in a t-shirt I could take the uh the wavy ramp or I could go down there I’m going to take the wavy ramp because I feel like it and we’re going to go past uh the rnli rnli Lifeboat station here and uh fish and crab shack uh which is like a fresh fish shop that we’ve had here my entire life my father actually loves frequenting that fresh fish shop if you could by the way done anything like this before not not to this extent anyway and I don’t know how long we’re going to be live could be an hour could be two but we’re just going to have a nice wonderful stroll along the SE from quite frankly and also let me know if you can hear me I need to know if you guys can hear me because I’m not actually sure which microphone um we’re using hi there Julie yes it is a cracking day we have here look at this look freshly paved nice and smooth as well for the old Mobility Scooter this is nice I’m going to stay on this side despite the fact he got the picture of the little man on the floor this is so much better for me rather than bouncing along sounds good does it cuz I’m not sure if I’m using the internal phones in the cameras well in the phone or if uh microphone sorry or if I’m using the ones in my meta glasses which I have on and are attached I’m going to have to move somewhat out of the way here because we have a car coming up behind us but fresh fish and shellfish open open hours um they’re closed on Monday through Thursdays but they’re only open at the weekend there you go and we’ve got Southern Head fishing Co limited there and this is where eastborn launch our lifeboats so if people get stranded at sea or need help here the eastborn inure life boat station right here [Music] and yeah you’re right Jud it’s a bloody lovely day isn’t it is cracking as you said got some very very freshly painted tennis courts there look at those along with a water refill station just just random random water refill station we’re now at a place called Fisherman’s green where there’s no actual green um there’s just tennis courts and the like but we have another fresh fish shop here and this is the one that’s been open for the longest time just just here Southern Head fishing Co and The Butcher Shop which is by sou Head fishing CO as well that sell Meats it would appear that looks like a relatively new building East born Rowing Club established in 1865 and the eastborn voluntary lifeguards here but the fisherman’s Club private members Club over there that’s why basically this place called Fisherman’s green and people like to fish here and this is where the Royal Marines per Cadets and uh Ro Marine Sea Cadets have all of their I don’t know what you call it fun meetings I’m not a man that’s a member of these things so I just wouldn’t know danger moving cables plenty of beaches sort of birthed right well beaches plenty of beaches plenty of boats birthed right here on Shore I believe my father actually has one it’s actually further back from where we started that way along the sea front but I’ve never been out on it I don’t trust it it is what it is caution moving cables I mean we’re already quite quite a way along actually since we started we’ve only been live for less than 10 minutes and we’re probably a good third of the way to the pier already so we might go beyond the pier we might even go into the Town Center I don’t know but now we’re approaching something called treasure Island looks like they’re having some construction Works going on some nice new Paving as you can see there this has been a thing I was a kid since I were a lad um it’s an indoor softplay and an outdoor I guess water park a splash pad whatever you want to call it there’s a there’s a nice play area here and then there’s the outdoor pool area which is I believe currently drained down here uh and with weather like this you would expect that it might be time to refill this but I don’t know I don’t know once again if you fact seem to be doing some construction works here but out the front just over there there used to be a tank like a proper tank but it’s not there anymore they took it away cuz too many people climbed at that plenty of people out enjoying the sunshine today inside that red Fortress I don’t know if it’s there anymore but there used to be a Thunderbirds Museum as you know the Thunderbird show it used to be down there and there’s a bit of a graffiti there it says the Devil comes for us all um and I think the same person has told us all here that we all we all pass away look how nice how lovely let
