Heading to the alps for the first time on my solo annual September long ride on my inherited old Dawes. Flights and ferry home booked, so need to complete in 8 1/2 days to get back to work. Did look at following the Danube but fancy trying the hilly way. It’s further and higher than I have done before but would like to see what happens doing consecutive double century days 🤒😜 Any advice or accommodation tips on the alpine section would be most appreciated (should I be calculating more time for above 1200m?)
