Harlow parkrun 19/ 07/ 25
Hello everybody. Welcome back to the channel. Well, we’ve arrived at Harow just now and it’s absolutely chucking it down with rain. So, uh I’m not sure what the videoing is going to end up like, whether I’m going to do anything, but we’ll see how we get on when we get out. side. But at the moment, it’s raining so heavy that probably won’t be able to pick a lot of decent footage up anyway. Anyway, I’ll let you know when we get down to the start what’s going on. I’ll catch up in a bit. [Music] Now for the happy old slog to the start up here, I do. Yes. Yeah. That was nice from the marshall. Get a personal briefing on where the trees fallen down. Hopefully I won’t trip over it. Seems a little bit quiet at the moment. I should imagine people turn up in a minute and get out their cars. Fall in. Good morning again. Marshall’s all going out their points. [Music] It did rain at some point. Keep left. You’re going that way, isn’t it? Sorry. Goes that way, doesn’t it? It does. Yeah. Yeah. I just have to hang on to the left time. Yes. Oh, is it? Where have you come from? Uh, normally do Witford Park run memorial. Uh, it’s between Basin and Shelton. Oh, okay. Yeah. This one’s bumpy. Yeah. Two and a half laps. There’s a couple of switchbacks and a bit of a zigzag. Right. Well, it’s not I don’t go too fast anyway. GoPro. Yeah. I’ll just do a bit of vlogging for me channel. What’s your channel? Uh, Cliff the Park Runner. Cliff the Parkrunner. We’ll check it out when we get home. Cliff the park. Nice to meet you, mate. All right. I’m No, this is so my son, too. Everybody, would you like to go around for your briefing? So many. Hello and welcome to Harfront number 494. We’ve had to just move the start and finish just slightly because the big puddle at the start there. So, we’re just going to start a little bit further back this way, which means then you finish a little bit earlier than normal. The signs are there, but it’s just so you can get past the puddle. As you look at it now, it’s on the right hand side. Um, when you finish today, we’ll be finishing on the right. Okay? So, don’t want any confusion. Make sure you finish on the right. So, if you’re getting wet, you’re in the wrong place. Okay? Also, on the course, there are lots of puddles. Obviously, underneath a puddle could be a hole. All right? So be very careful. It should be quite slippery on the sharp turns as well. So just look after yourself today. Don’t be in too much of a hurry. Yeah. Just get around, enjoy it. We’ve had some volunteers go out and uh sort out the one by the playground. But I think as you cross the bridge Oh, yeah. Well, yeah. As you come across the bridge and down the dip, that one’s hanging really low, so you may have to look to go around that one. Okay. Um, do we have any first timers here today? Hands up. Well done. Welcome along. Okay. And a big welcome to our tours that are here today as well. Well done. Okay. Our course is two big laps and then one small. Okay. Please remember the one small. We still get people forgetting that on their last bit and then they get a PB. they just will never be able to achieve. So, two big and one small. On the way round, we’ve got lots of marshals. Remember to say thank you to them for giving up their time. Uh they are there for our s safety as well. So, if you’re feeling unwell or need any first aid, go to them. Um and if need be, they can contact us. We do have a defib here as well if ever we should need it. Ready? [Music] Ready. On your right hand side. 3 2 1 go.
