Since y'all asked, here are three of the saddles I restored.

  • The first one is finished in 'buffalo' texture black leather with small piping rim. That's for the '42 war spec and it matches the remains of the original as best I could, and obviously hand stitched
  • second is the 1927, recreated from scraps of remains, and images stolen from an Ebay auction of the same model. It's finished in chestnut brown with neat-lac sealer
  • third is the 1939 Mesinger B-7 finished in deep black, sealed with neat-lac. For this one, I had an almost intact remains and managed to salvage 90% of the foam rubber. Unlike the 1927, this has two seat pans, so the leather cover edge is trapped between the two, making a nice clean rim.
