Well, welcome to the channel or welcome back if you’ve watched before. Um, we are at the most favorite place of mine and that’s Brans Hatch and we’re here for the British Superbikes. Um, it’s Thursday afternoon. We’ve come a day early. Um, unfortunately it’s a little bit drizzling outside but you know what, I’m in the van. and I’m not on the bike, so I’m not moaning too much. Um, but I just can’t believe how busy it is on a Thursday afternoon. It doesn’t really The event doesn’t really start till Friday. And we got here 12:00 thinking we’re just going to pull straight in, hand the tickets over, and get on the campsite. No such luck. We’ve just been held in a holding pen for about 2 hours. Um, hats off to the marshals. They kept us all in lines, and then the lines went in turn, so no one was getting in before anybody else. It was all very fair. But wow, Brand’s Hatch Bsb meeting, it is getting busy. I’ve been doing it for about 15 years now. And uh yeah, it’s just got busier and busier and busier to the point, yeah, they’re having to hold people up in a holding pen on a Thursday afternoon. So, that’s quite unbelievable. But anyway, we are here and we’re just about to hand our tickets over, get in the campsite, and get set up. And I am reassured listening to the radio that the weather’s going to clear up a little bit. It’s quite dull today, but um like I said, I’m not on the bike. I’m in the van. So, I’m nice and dry and cozy. And it’s hopefully this is the last time this weekend I’ve got to wear this jumper. So, yeah, let’s get in. How are we? Yeah, good. You all right? Yeah, good. Just your camera, my mate. That’s all. Yeah, perfect. Down, man. Have a good one. Cheers, buddy. No way. See you later. Thank you. Cheers. Thank you. We’re in. Now, that’s usually what we do when we just pull into Brand’s hatch. We just pull straight in the car park. They give us the tickets, the really nice marshals, and we just go straight to the campsite. But, uh, never mind. I don’t mind waiting. We’re British. We like to queue, don’t we? [Music] So, that’s us all set up for the weekend. Weather’s not much better, but it’ll do. There’s my caravan over there. We got Ian’s camper van, Dave’s motor home, and Steve’s caravan. Yeah, there’s not a motorbike in sight, but we rather live in comfort in a tent rather in this weather. So, yeah, it’s a little square we’ve got on the campsite. Campsite’s very, very full. I mean, like absolutely packed. And this is our tent that we use in the evening. We’ll chill out. You can see it’s our little chill out tent. It’s our speakers that we use for a bit of entertainment. These are years old. We’ve been using these for about 10 odd years now. Brilliant speakers and uh our naughty game of cards. That’s me heading over to the track now. We’re going to uh going to have a look around. Campsite’s all done, set up, all cozy over there. Now, by the sounds of it, the bikes have just started. So, we might be able to get into the the paddock. Not the real paddock. When you’re at Brans Hatch, you can’t get into the the main BSB pit lane. It’s just closed off unlike other tracks like Alton Park and Snetton. You can go actually into the pit lane and almost speak to the riders. You get right at the back of the garages, but here you can’t. But what they do have here is uh access to the puddock where all the support riders are, all the support classes. So that’s really exciting cuz you get to see the real nitty-gritty of how they fix the bikes and prepare them for the racing. So yeah, something I really enjoy having a look around there. So, we’re going to go in, give our ticket over, and uh go and have a look around. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] So, it’s been declared a wet race. I’m just going to head up to what is a decent corner. See if we can get some action up there. It’s uh also I want to try and hide under these trees. But tell you something, it’s quite cool. Look at these guys over here. See the guys up at the fence? They’re actually uh in their back garden. What a great view they’ve got for free. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat up here. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Everybody and as you can See, we’re in the lower paddock. Now, this is something that’s slightly separate from the main BSB paddock. You you can’t get in there unlike other tracks like Autumn Park and um what’s the other one? Sleetton that you can you can get right on the back of the pit garage and see all the action going on like literally as they take their bikes out the garage onto the track for the main race. You can go and watch them do that. Unfortunately, at Brans Hatch, you can’t. The main paddock, the main pit area is completely separate to sort of everything else. So, unless you got a pass, you can’t get in there. So, that’s a bit unfortunate. I don’t have a pass this weekend, but I don’t need it. You can come here, which is the behind me is the support class paddock. And there’s so many support classes in this series that you can spend all day looking around these tents. And it’s the mechanics that are doing all the behind the scenes stuff that you don’t see when you see the racing. You know, they’re fixing the bikes. Unfortunately, if one gets dropped, they’re having to get it in and rush to get it repaired and they’re just maintaining these things. All stuff that I find real highly fascinating and it’s one of like the biggest reasons I like to come to Brans Hatch and it’s one of my favorite things to do to walk around this paddock and just have a look. And quite often you’ll see the British superbike riders come whizzing past. You can say hello if they want to stop and say hello, give them a high five or whatever. But just looking around this paddock is so exciting. Like it was always my dream to be a racer when I was younger and I obviously never made it. So to see these boys in there getting their levers on on their bikes and they their mechanics doing their stuff. I find that like mega. So let’s go and have a look around and I’ll show you some of the tents and um see if we can see the mechanics getting busy. And I can see where these riders at the minute their bikes aren’t there. Their mechanics are watching the screen cuz obviously their bikes are out on the on the track. They are sitting there waiting for him to come back. Pretty cool. [Music] [Music] That was a BSB rider Tommy Brian. Welcome. That one there for you, Trevor. My brother Trevor is a massive Tommy Briwell fan, so that one’s for you, buddy. Swag down the street with your red lips and funky beat. You better take your head up to the sky. I’m going to roll with you till the day I die. Swing those hips around. Time down ready to ride. [Applause] [Music] Well, good morning. Welcome to day two at Well, it’s actually day three for us. Day three, I think. This is race day. So, we’ve gone through the practice days and the qualifying day yesterday and now this is race day. We’re just waiting for our first race to come on behind us. Um, yeah, the weather’s absolutely perfect. It looks cloudy, but that’s really what you need here cuz we sit at quarter druids which is up the top. If the sun’s out, you get absolutely baked. So, to have a little bit of cloud is perfect today. And being a Brand Hash weekend, we uh Yeah, it’s a bit of a party. So, we all got sore heads. all drank a bit too much last night and done a bit too much dancing. So yeah, sit up here in in the overcast cloudy conditions is absolutely lovely. Anyway, we’re going to take a wander down to the paddock again today. I didn’t get much footage yesterday because it was raining and the truth was I couldn’t be asked to get the camera out when it was pouring down and rain and I’m sat beneath plastic sheet. So we’ll have a little w down there in a minute and have a look see if we can see some of the riders and some mechanics doing their doing their thing. Uh yeah, and then it’s just for the rest of the afternoon, we’re going to enjoy the racing that’s racing from 11 onwards. So we’re going to pick up down here and um see if we can get some action for you on the track. You can see here behind me now. The bikers coming around their green flag laps and we’ll go across in a minute. Yeah, we’re going to head off a little bit early this afternoon because trying to get out of Brown hatch sometimes can take about 2 or 3 hours after the second place. And I’m going to try and avoid that. We’re off to Spain tomorrow, so I can rest my weary Grand Satch head for a few days. And uh yeah, just by leaving a bit earlier, we can get out of the car park and we can make sure we’re not here till 9:00 on the night. So yeah, we’re just going to watch the rest of the racing, watch the first British bike race and head off. But it’s been an amazing weekend. I’ve really enjoyed spending some time with my two boys. I don’t get to see my eldest that often cuz he’s at uni. So it’s been really great to see him this weekend. But they’ve been coming here since they were kids and they absolutely love it. So it’s nice to see them as excited now as they were when they were in the five, six, seven, eight. So yeah, we’ve had a really really packing weekend. And uh thanks for watching and I hope you’ve enjoyed the the action that I uh yeah, we’re going to head get headed off and um well, we’re not going to head off now. We’re going to go to the racing, but I’m going to say bye now. And I uh yeah, we’ll see you in the next one. And if you like the racing, if you like the content, give us a thumbs up and make sure you hit that subscribe button cuz that really helps us make the next videos. And yeah, we’ll see you on the next one. Cheers. With the Taylor stunning move from Ash on the side. The most recent winner in this class goes to the end with a double overtake on the brakes. at the start of the broadcast and then resonate. [Music]
