Les Gorges du Verdon is hands down one of the most beautiful places I’ve see in the South of France and honestly if I could go back I would’ve added more time to enjoy it …
But note!!!
The main part of this river is focused on pedal boating, electric boats, and paddles. Swimming doesn’t really happen in the main part of the river unless specially advised. There are no lifeguards and swimming is at your own risk due to potential dangerous currents. You should always check with any safety advisories.
That said, if you do want to swim, there are so many swimming opportunities in its lakes, which is quite a popular thing to do during summer.
If you’re planning a trip to southern France, add this to your list. I think it is best to get here with a rental car because it’s kind of out of the way (it was about an hour and a half from where I was staying in Provence), but you can also do a tour to get here… although it would cost as much as just getting a rental car 😅
