This is a 1962 Raleigh "Low Gravity" delivery bike, aka butcher bike. This thing was abandoned in a field for a long time, so every fastener was an epic battle to remove, every one needing heat and a few had to be cut off. Because it's British Cycle standard (everything 26 tpi) I had to buy most fasteners from UK, and make a couple unique ones. You'll notice the oversize basket is part of the frame, so it doesn't turn with steering which is a little unnerving! It has 26" rear and 20" front rims, both 40 spoke. Currently it has the original Perry single speed coaster hub, but I'll change that for a Sturmey Archer 3 speed coaster from the same period.
If you are a SF and Fantasy fan, you'll know Terry Pratchett and his Disc World universe. Since this bike has no history. I adopted Pratchett's character Dibbler, the purveyor of mystery meat products, for the advertising space on the frame.
