While test riding the Superhuman Blade 2.0 at the Superhuman Bikes San Diego showroom, one of their helpful team members mentioned and showed us a Blade 3 prototype right out front. They shared that a Blade 3 Standard and a Blade 3 Pro are in the works.

To give an idea of what the Blade 3 will build upon, here’s a quick run-through of the components on the Blade 2.0:

Motor: 1000W Bafang Ultra Mid-Motor (1700W Peak Power, 160 Nm Torque)

Battery: 52V 17.5AH Samsung Lithium Ion Cells

Drivetrain: Gates Carbon Belt Drive system (Single Speed, Rohloff hub option available)

Fork: RockShox Pike Ultimate (160mm Travel)

Brakes: SRAM GR2 Hydraulic Disc (203mm rotors)

Wheels: 27.5″ Spank wheels (Tubeless Ready)

Tires: Maxxis Minion DHR 27.5″ x 2.6″ EVO Casing (Tubeless Ready)

Display: Bafang DP C18 LCD Display

Pedal Assist: Torque Sensor

The team member clarified that while the Pro version of the Blade 3 will feature more premium components, the Standard model is also an excellent bike with incredible performance, sharing the same motor, range, power, and speed as the Pro. The main difference between the two is expected to be the German-engineered Rohloff Speedhub, a premium and more expensive component that contributes to the Pro’s higher cost.

So, this superhuman blade 2, they’ve got a Blade 3 prototype out in front of the store. Coming out with Blade 3. Blade 3 is up and coming. So, here is the Blade Two and then they’ve got the Blade 3 prototype right over here. I think there’s going to be a couple different Blade 3es. One of them is going to be a little more uh affordable version and one of them is going to be the more kitted out version. Any idea about what the changes are going to be to Blade 3 on broad rush strokes? I know we’re going to have two versions, a Pro and a standard. Okay. The standard will be more affordable. It’ll have a chain. It won’t have the they won’t have the rollout speed hub. Okay. It’ll still have a 1000 watt motor. And there’s an example right there on the red plate. That’s a Blade 3. It’s It’s a prototype. Proto Blade 3. Blade 3 prototype. Nice. So, that Blade 3 prototype is going to be offered in two versions as of right now. A Blade 3 standard or a more kitted out Blade 3 Pro.
