Hi everyone, welcome to Travel Diary. Today we are going to show you our road trip from London to Cardiff, the capital of Wales in United Kingdom. United Kingdom is made of four parts. It’s England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The distance from London to Cardiff is 336 kilometers. We took the route motorway and four to get to Cardiff. It’s a very easy drive when there’s no traffic. As you know, you can only stop at service stations while driving on the motorway. But this time, we didn’t stop at a service station and draw directly to Cardiff. When you hit the boat of England, you have to cross the bridge name Prince of Wales. And also this bridge was called Second Seven Crossing. This bridge is 4.8 kilometers long. These white markings on the lanes are called showrooms. When you’re driving at maximum speed, which is 70 mph, you have to leave a gap of two showers apart with the vehicle in front. The day we traveled, there were road works on the bridge. As you can see, there were lane restrictions. [Music] Now we are entering the Prince of Wales Bridge. The Prince of Wales Bridge is a cable state bridge over the rivers. It’s part of M4 motorway connecting England and Wales. The bridge is originally called the second son crossing but it was renamed in 2018 in honor of Prince Charles who was then prince of Wales and current king of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I’m going to show you the entire drive on the bridge so you can get an idea how long the bridge is. [Music] Now we are coming to the end of the bridge. You can see how long this bridge was. The main language in Wales, it’s Welsh. All signposts are in Welsh and English. Welsh is one of the oldest living languages in Europe. Now, let’s look at some interesting things about Wales. Wales has more castles per square mile than anywhere else in the world. Rugby is more than just a sport. It’s a deep part of Welsh identity. The Welsh flag features a red dragon. It’s a symbol of strength and heritage. You sense a reptile. Wales has strong connection to Arurian legends. According to some legends, he not Welsh and also there are so many UNESCO World Heritage sites in Wales. [Music] [Music] There are so many interesting places you can visit in Wales. It was a 2 hour 30 minute drive from London to Wales. As we did not stop anywhere and there was no traffic. Normally it takes about 3 and 1/2 hour with normal traffic and maybe with one stop over.
