I got some push back that my first video was a bit long so I am trying again

Third video is coming soon…

This is 2nd video from my longest day in Sarandë Albania.
This is the nearly the entire trip to and from Sarandë to the Blue Eye.

I am not sure I would recommend you rent a scooter unless you are very very comfortable ride one. The HWY speeds of the local cars, the gravel in the road, the sudden sharp corners the speed bumps and other hazards make it a challenging ride. This was my first solo trip and my third trip over all. On the first two I had someone behind me in my ear pointing out all the hazards. A good example is coming around a corner and having water flowing across the road. An easy spot to dump a scooter if you are not expecting it.

Notes on Blue Eye
Go mid day for best light in to the water.
Rent the electric Scooter there, ride the train for a fee or a long hot walk from gate to Blue Eye
2-3 hours at most.
Many snacks and drink at the entrance, drink water.
A few restaurants there, I never tried and expect higher prices
There are cabins available for over night if you want a quiet retreat, no idea of quality
Late afternoon and evening it is usually very quiet and calm, a great time for nature and private pictures.

View in 4k on large screen to really appreciate the colors and scenery.

Nothing’s going to plan. Nothing at all. I still got my haircut. I’m gonna go jump in the water for a little bit, cool off, and I’ll be back, rinse off, and maybe go rent a scooter. We’ll see about that. [Music] A few things to know here. on. I did a video walk around of the bike, which I would always recommend. You can see my camera on the in the mirror there. Um, the other thing is you don’t see me wearing a helmet here. I pull around the corner and put my helmet on. Now, I’ve been riding around tandem with a local for a few days and he doesn’t wear a helmet, doesn’t have a helmet, and it’s not really a problem because he’s a local and he’s not on a rental scooter. um they are very eager to give tickets to dumb tourists who don’t know how to ride bikes and rent bikes. So, make sure you wear your helmet. You’ll see me, you know, I start to take off and then I, you know, think better and put the helmet on. Um, and I’m not a person who enjoys helmets, so, you know, that says a lot. But I go around the corner here, put the helmet on. The other thing is is when I sped this film up, it looks incredibly scary and dangerous. Believe me, it wasn’t. I’m not a brave person on a bike. I’m very confident on a bike, but I’m not one to be cut in traffic or cutting people off or, you know, risking my uh myself in any way, shape, or form, you know, without good reason. So, just remember that, you know, the super speed makes it look a lot more dramatic than it really is. [Music] Heat. Heat. Come down. Change. Hey, wake up. Wake up. What are you doing here? Wake up. What are you doing here? I’m riding. What are you doing here? Let me park this. Where did you find that motor? I rented it. Where? Maybe I’ll let her go first. I don’t want her to run into me. [Laughter] Or I’ll just go fast. How you starting me in third gear, huh? You just start Just leave it to the third. Just leave it and turn it. Huh? Yeah. This is like the chopper. I’ve never ridden this chopper style. It’s like a enjoy. See you later. Maybe. Maybe. [Music] What the [Music] It’s quite a bit of water flowing. Beautiful little places to chill, watch your step, not touch the flowers. Well, that is some clear water. And this is one caky duck. Wow. Tell me that’s not spectacular. Spectacular. Just phenomenal. So I think I went past the blue eye somewhere. I don’t know what’s going on. So, these are the cabins you can stay at from what I understand. Just beautiful up there. I tell you, the temperature drops so much as soon as you get under these trees. It’s really phenomenal. So, here’s the actual blue eye. From what I understand, there is no more swimming. No more swimming. Somebody’s got their drone up there. Familiar hiss of a drone. You, if I were thinking ahead, I would have brought a float and drop drop it in there on a a line and let it drift down. That would have be cool. Have we here? So there’s Oh, that tells you meters over here. Not exactly sure what that’s saying, but Oh, how much meters per second. That looks like a flow rate. Maybe temperature 10 C. 10 C is pretty cold. I guess somebody failed the Darwin test and jumped in a while back and didn’t make it. So now nobody can swim. That’s what I was told. Who knows? It’s pretty super. Yeah, I do have some cord. I could tie it off and just throw this in there, but I’m not feeling it today. Too cool. See, this is where having a polarized lens would be the bomb because the glasses aren’t polarized, but they do pretty good. And over here on the right side, there’s all kinds of pretty colors, reds and greens and stuff. Yeah, I think if I come back, I’m going to bring a uh something that I can drop in there and fish back out because I think the colors underneath would just be super just be super pretty spectacular. But I’m going to get moving. Okay, I’ll stop there. You should be able to screenshot that somewhat. No swimming. Seems to me I would really want to swim. Just saying. I would really want to swim. I do really want to swim. I even have my swimsuit on from the beach earlier. So, this flow isn’t actually from the blue eye. It’s just near as I can understand it. Only been here 2 minutes, but this flow is just a clean mountain creek. It’s pretty spectacular. I love all the bogs. I wish I had a telephoto lens. All the buggies up here do be great photographing. So, this is kind of cool. These look like cabanas or cabins or something you can rent. And then a restaurant, a little selfie station, blue eye coffee bar. Pretty super. Pretty super. I’m going to come over here. I see a big body of water. Let’s go see what we got going here. The veranda. Notice the sprinklers on top. Keep everything cool. If it were me, like I’d want to jump in a tube and go floating, right? Look, they’ve got some things you can sit in the water. Let’s go check that out. But I’m a floaty guy. Like I want to sit in a tube, drink a beer, and float. Float, float, float. Check that out. They got little paddle boats. That’s a stiff current out there, but this is Look how clear that water is. That’s just phenomenal. That’s just phenomenally clear. Oh, we got something. Oh, baby ducks. No way. That’s a treat right there. Got mama duck. Baby ducks are crawling through the bushes. That is so cool. So cool. Yeah, the baby ducks. You can’t see them, but they’re hiding in those bushes there. You kind of see mama. Oh, you see him moving over there on the left. Mama’s out there treading water. Oh. Oh, there they go. They’re not baby babies, but they’re pretty baby. That’s awesome. Oh, here comes number four. And then they just dove. That’s funny. Boy, they are fast. They just dive right under into the weeds. That’s cool. Yeah, there’s somebody out there on the paddle boat. Not an eye. Me and my $4 ice cream are waiting on this guy here to open his wings. I don’t know if he’s going to [Music] Yep. [Music] Hey, hey, hey. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] Hello. How are you? Good. You are you working all night? Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music]

  1. It’s really helpful to see all the amenities there. It’s not super easy to find this info online. I would love to rent one of those little clamping sites
