Hey everyone,
I’m trying to remove the fork from my 2023 Canyon Lux Trail to check the headset bearings, clean, and re-grease everything.
On this model, the cables run through the upper headset bearing 🥲.
I’ve removed the stem and spacers.
Is the fork supposed to just slide out at this point? Or is there something else I need to remove?
I tried tapping it a bit with a rubber mallet, but the fork won’t move.
Also, when reassembling, I noticed the top cap bolt doesn’t seem to do anything — tightening it all the way has the same effect as not tightening it at all. The steering tension doesn’t change.
Feels like something might be seized, but I wanted to get your thoughts before going at it harder with the mallet 😁
