This is Jake's sister Julia, a 1945 CCM roadster. She's finished in the original navy blue with white pinstripe, Ashes of Rose fenders with red stripe and chrome rims with red band and white border. She was made immediately after WWII when materials restrictions were lifted, but before production of pressed metal head badges came back,, so she has a decal instead.

The loop frame design used by CCM was a poor one because the main section is not triangulated. The dropped top tube butts into the downtube about 6" above the BB where the horizontal thrust is unresolved, causing the downtube to bend. After years of use, especially with a heavy rider, the downtube cracks. I've seen most frames broken there, and one that actually folded. This bike will be used sparingly.

Yea, yea, the centre stand is too tall, I know. In the pile waiting to be finished is a combo rack/stand that will go on soon.

This is the project where I learned that reproducing waterslide decals is not that difficult, and it justifies feeding horribly expensive cartridges into my injet printer.
