This is one of my favourite photographs ever, It's the French 'Paul' Dangla who was a cyclist in the early 20th century.
I never seen it posted before, I hope you like it as much as I do.
He died 2 weeks after falling from his bike going 80km/u (60mph), they placed that bicycle on his grave and during the 100th anniversary of his death they decided to give it a proper glass display.
Apparently someone heard about this in the news and decided to steal the bike shortly after.
one source of the wikipedia article about him is dutch and vaguely suggest that it was done by collectors.
I'd would really like to find out what happened to that bike, are there any collectors here that happen to know this story?
