Did you know that Müster has more bicycles than people? Yes, over 500,000 bikes for just 320,000 residents. That’s why it’s known as Germany’s bicycle capital. Riding a bike isn’t just common. It’s part of the city’s lifestyle. But there’s something even more curious. In the historic city center on St. Lbert’s Church, you can see three iron cages hanging from the tower. And no, they’re not decorations. In the 16th century, the bodies of three Anabaptist leaders were displayed in those cages after a failed religious uprising, a dark reminder of the city’s turbulent past. Today, Müster is a vibrant university town full of life, history, and thousands of bicycles. Night.
