    One kilometer to go for the Australian and it’s looking good. Yes, it’s looking very good. 500 m of that little flatter road and then he’s going to turn sharply left up the last 500 m. Couple of small little turns, switch backs and will get it to the finish. And there goes the attack. And now the attack. Wenger starts, but Pagatcha immediately is onto the wheel and responds. And so does Onley. He comes back onto the wheel as well. Gritted teeth from the young Scott in third place on this wheel now, but Fergard has tried again. We expected maybe a little bit more of attacks, but he’s tried once and now he tries on the final climb. Remember, they are 2 and 1/2 minutes behind Ben O Connor, so they don’t have 600 m to go. O’ Connor is almost at the finish line. Yeah, it’s looking very good there for Ben Oconor who’s 500 meters. This is when he’s going to be in the front and the most difficult part of the climb. There he is. Doesn’t see the line quite yet. 5 450 m. Last big effort there for Bento Connor. What a ride across the mountains it’s been for this rider from Australia. His first solo attack came 41.6 km from the finish with a Rubio. Then he went solo just inside 16 kilometers from the finish line. And O’ Conor has used his climbing prowess to the very best of his ability. I can almost see the corner there. He knows he’s getting very close about. Well, there we go. 300 m. Only 300 m now of pain for the Australian. He’s one of the best climbers in the world. The tour at the beginning wasn’t kind to him with that first crash, but since then he’s fought his way back and Okconor is going to give Australia something to jump up and down about. The line is almost in sight through the mist and the merc of a brutal day in the mountains. Ben O’ Connor is now closing in on the finish line. The Jacula rider is almost there. 200 m and he can sit up and enjoy the moment. One kilometer to go for the group of Wengerard, Pagatcha and Oscar Onley. [Music] Pagata sitting on the wheel of There we go. There’s a finish now. It’s getting there about 50 m I would say. Ben O’ Conor can see the gantry can see the finish line at the top of the fearsome cold de la. It feels like an absolute eternity. The line cannot come quick enough. He hunches his shoulders. It has been a brilliant day across the mountains. Okconor is going to turn the final corner and get set to take the spoils of victory on the cold. 16 km solo. A brilliant day for a brilliant rider. Tubulation for Jacob Alula. Brilliant. B Connor wins his second stage in the tour to France.

      Sorry, but Roglic just earned again the price for being the worst teammate ever. Visma and Red Bull both with a horrible strategy. Jörgensen just should have paced all the way and do not let the other guys back on. Roglic should have been ordered back to help Lipowitz. Lipowitz then would had a better chance to actually go for the attack and the win. This way Lipowitz have to ride 70km without any help. And even Roglic had not the legs to hold on to Onley. If Lipo does not make the podium, it is all his fault. Same selfish egoistic behaviour we saw in the Vuelta against Kuss. Red Bull should get rid off him, sign Evenepoel and maybe some other strong mountain helpers.

      Congratulations, Ben O’Connor, what a ride what a ride. Also what a ride from Oscar onley Normally there would be one rider of the day but for me not today that award goes to Campenaerts Jorgensen an Simon. Specially Simon to do that effort on a climb that steep an long for over 10km that’s insane.

      Plus surely a big fine is coming to Lenny Martinez and his team. I know the riders get a little bit of boost whilst getting bottles commissaires do kind of turn a blind eye, which is pushing it a little bit, but what they did you can’t do that.

      Call me crazy but Pogacar only lost first by around a minute in the last 3 of 4 races.He could have won all these races so why???Rogi is a bit of a coward,he should have attacked when Ben took off

      O'Connor was also up there with the best in the Giro.
      Like Indurain said, the best preparation for the Tour is riding the Giro.
      But you don't see it often these days.

      That was one hell of a stage. Sat glued to my chair sucking coffee. Two things really struck me though. What was the point of Wellen’s attack?? It seemed to just torch his legs for later on when he would have been valuable. Secondly, can’t help but notice so many younger talented riders having so much success at this level so quickly. But perhaps that has always been the way and just haven’t noticed over the past 30 years. Ooof. Oh….and post-race Jonas mentioned his satisfaction with the fact that, while he and Visma didn’t really make any impact, he felt good that he and Tadej were at the same level. I know he has to believe that to ride again tomorrow. But, uhhh, no. Tadej never got out of his saddle. Still, tomorrow looks like another addition of hell, just shorter and taller. Yikes.

      Tadej has actually shown maturity in this race. Without a doubt, several years back he would have gone for all the stages. Now, he races tactically, knows when to push and when to sit on the wheel. Jonas did what he could. Tadej spotted him and attacked at the end of the climbs

      Red Bull with the greatest tactics ever.. How can you mess this up? Lipo had the third place in save hands and was clearly the third best rider / climber today. Still because of these master tactics he only has 20 seconds left and will be pretty tired after this stage. Congrats bora..

      After Col du Madeleine…..Jonas is the stereotypical Jumbo-Visma captain….offended that nobody will ride for him and refuses to ride himself although he is the one who needs to…..then sends his helper into a hopeless breakaway. And the former TJV captain (Roglic) makes sure to put his ego above GC podium for his team. Cursed

      If ever a sporting event is crying out to be streamed in 4k it has to be the tour de France with the Pyrenees and the Alps it would look stunning.
