did you know doing this is against the law but E Scooters could soon be legalized on public roads yep despite being almost everywhere most of the time it’s illegal to ride them on public roads currently you’re only allowed to ride an e scooter on a public road if it’s a higher vehicle in an area that’s trialing them the transport secretary said the government wants to legalize and regulate them but campaigners say they are dangerous there was 12 deaths involving es scooters in 2022 and hundreds of accidents according to official statistics but the true figure is likely to be much higher Fire brigades have also issued warnings about charging them at home after several house fires but Louise heg says they are a really effective part of an integrated transport strategy a law would likely regulate their sales so only fire Safe products are available they’d also have their speeds restricted and sentencing guidelines would be issued for Dangerous Riders both they are unlikely to be legalized within the next year

  1. People who have to get public transport, can not rely on, buses always cancelled or late, trains always cancelled or late, having to walk home late at night as no other transport, People are getting E-scooters, because more and more people are finding it difficult to keep a job, because of public transport, so the government can say what they like, we all know that them main reason, is because they know once or if it becomes legal, more and more people will choose the e-scooter over there car, for short distance, just to save money, which is less money in there pocket.

  2. I heard some guy wanted to make a machine that doesn't need horses to pull it. They call it an automobile. They travel fast and could kill someone if they get hit by it. I say ban them, and let's stick to our horse and buggy.

Today's argument about Escooters is no different to that of the first cars, times change and technology moves on and so must we.

  3. In medieval age were no electric scooters hence in the UK will never be allowed. Horses yes. Electric cars, yes but not electric scooters, only motorbikes that can do 300kph, those are not dangerous!

  4. This countries transport system is dogshite and the roads are completely full in most areas of london. It cant be rhat difficult to create a safe highway code and requirement system to regulate escooters, especially if you already paid roadtax on a car. You could insure an escooter for very cheap once regulations where made and a simple test was completed.

  5. The government
Actively going against the will and well-being of the people
    Because
Lightning can strike and hurt a squirrel
    I don't know
If the people want scooters give them scooters until the scooters are proven dangerous
We are literally coming up with our own solution to your problems
We are doing your job for you
    Let us have our scooters

  6. Still not as dangerous as cars would be better if more people ride scooters
just not on pavements and use bike lanes when possible also it's always going to be much safer than taking a bus or subway in most major cities

  7. Its honestly stupid how a motorcycle weighs 5x more than e scooters and do 5x the speed yet they are legal, cars legally do 70mph yet you cant ride e scooters at 10mph. Everything we do in life is dangerous, we take a massive risk driving yet its a normal thing, if you want something good for the environment you would legalise them. This country is so behind in almost every way all the government think about is taking away you're money.

  8. In Romania they are legal plus uber and bolt has their e-scooters available across the big cities in Romania with an app you can unlock and use it as a public transport let's say and they are fun to ride, and normally you use them on the pavement not on the road or a bike road type. I always use in Romania uber e-scooter for transport its a bit cheaper and great to go from point a to point b, I used one when I had even here in Livingston and no one gave a damn about never got it seized by police, if you know how to use them correctly and take health and safety of you and others in real matter and be carefull nothing will happen no accidents but there are crazy people that don't care about that and they ride the e-scooters like idiots

  9. the gov probably set it up in the same way you have to pay tv license but for a private scooter higher the watts the more expensive the license if they can make money from it they will legalise it 14p a min on the rentals £10 for the whole day

  10. Aggressive cars are worse. I can't even step out my door at times without cars speeding through 20 zone. This is bs gov propaganda.

  11. The just show loads of people riding them illegally but they cant arrest hundreds of people, Just like they cant arrest 400 Christian people all marching preaching singing.

  12. I've had a scooter zoom past me in the wrong direction on the roads… so iagree they are dangerous but it should be the rider's responsibility to abide by the road rules or do a short course before being allowed to get one.

  13. eScooters and bikes are not dangerous. It is irresponsible or immature riders that are dangerous. Nannying the population by banning or restricting them will only increase illegal use among folks who do not care. Rider legislation, training and vehicle registration is the way forward.

  14. Why are bikes not dangerous on the roads as well? Doesnt make any sense. If you drive safely not matter what vehicle you use it will still be ok. Just as if you are recklessly driving on any vehicle it will be dangerous doesn't matter if its a scooter or a car still both the same????????
