Left the French Riviera and started our journey back home. We had an early start as wanted to get in a fairly long driving day and then slow down daily miles before our tunnel crossing, knowing the UK leg would be the most gruelling. We managed to get half way through France before stopping at Beaune.
We stayed at the Camping Municipal Les Cent Vignes. Plenty of spacious pitches which were secluded and separated by hedges. It had a restaurant and we were able to order bread and croissants for the morning. Not the cheapest at €33.52 but we were desperate for water. The site was a nice 20 min walk into town and it was lovely after a long drive to stretch our legs and have a wander. A great little stop over x 🇫🇷☀️🚐
Our next stopover was at the lovely Troyes which really blew us away. We could not quite get over the buildings it was like stepping back in time or in a film 🎥 set. At one point we could’ve been in a Harry Potter movie.
The Troyes aire used to be the municipal campsite so the pitches were were well placed and clearly defined. We had EHU, water, waste and chemical disposal all for €15 for 24 hrs really good. Plenty of pitches but still start to fill by 4pm. Another gem of an overnight stay
Last day ended in style with a stopover at Epernay. We arrived at the aire just after 1pm with two spaces left. It cost €13.70 for 24hrs and included EHU.
Headed to the Avenue de Champagne to see the Champagne Houses. We decided to do the Mercier tour as it was done on a train which Engineer Lee appreciated. The cost was €26 each and included 2 glasses of champagne each.
We really enjoyed learning about the history and the tour of the cellars was fascinating. Even better to know it is still a working cellar since 1858.
Brilliant experience and what a way to end our first road trip abroad in Luna – now to start planning where to go next year
[Music] hi this morning we uh left ni and we hit we’ve done about 380 miles Way North in quite a bit of a big driving day today and but we’ve stopped over at buun and we’re on a campsite it’s actually a really nice little campsite very well defined pictures and there is an air that we were going to use but we had no water so we had to stay somewhere where we could at least get some water and see us out for the rest of the trip so that’s where we are it’s got a restaurant and um I think you can order your bread and your cant for the breakfast so we’re going to do that as well and then we’re just going to have a little walk into bu it’s meant to be very pretty it’s meant to be the Wine Place which is always a bonus for me uh so we’ll see how we get on yeah let’s go okay so the pictures are very spacious here it’s a nice site isn’t it [Music] [Applause] [Music] John [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] and we’re now at TR uh which is sort of the middle to the north of France in got an air today it was a a municipal campsite but they’ve now converted it into an air it’s absolutely amazing actually it’s 15 for 24 hours you pay at the machine and get like a QR code ticket that then lifts the barrier there’s Electric hookup included and there’s motor home service you can get water you can do your waste you can do your toilet yeah so it’s it’s pretty pretty nice actually it is very uh very good pictures uh nice and uh quiet to be honest we have picked the the one near the one nearest of the road really but we did that because it literally is a security camera literally right next to us so you never know it’s good to have that bit extra security uh but I’ll show you the site in a second but it’s a really good site and it’s really hot I was expecting like as we’ve come so far north to be in coats and things but wow it’s still as hot as it was in e really isn’t it yeah yeah okay let’s go see try we’re going to go have a bit of a bik ride and explore a bit okay see you in a bit [Music] [Applause] [Music] did you get show [Music] I’ll be for you I’ll be [Music] for hi morning we’ve just left the air at Tri and what an amazing air that was I think it’s because it was a campsite and they converted it to an air all the pictures were so well laid out with um private Hedges and what have you to sort of Define all the pictures it was1 15 we got electric water waste water it was so clean so safe you had to QR code so as soon as you got there you got a ticket with a QR code in paid for your 24 hours you Q out the barrier it let you in and then you needed to use your QR code for water and to exit as well but you could extend your stay as well so you could stay for more than one night if you wanted to but it was absolutely brilliant and try itself stunning absolutely stunning town you can just imagine it being like that in the 1400s well it was like being in a film set wasn’t it we could have been in hogsmeade or we could have been um on a on a World War II film set it was just unbelievable un normally you get like one street or a few houses um of of all old like the shambles in York but this it was they were everywhere weren they really really nice whole city really yeah really good stop over thoroughly recommend it I think you have to I think there’s about was 26 pitches or maybe 36 I’ll check that but um I think if you got there too late it would probably fill up um but we got there just after lunch didn’t we it’s started getting really busy about 4:00 is it yeah so I would guess you probably need to get there before then but brilliant it’s a little bit CL first cloudy day today in 3 weeks this is our first cloudy day so we’ve done so Ling so lucky with the weather we’re hoping now to head to EP which is only about 68 mies from where we’re staying which is where Champagne Avenue is so I’m really excited to see that there there’s a common theme here with the wine tasting and now the champagne not that we’re alcoholics of anything is it but yeah really looking forward to that see you [Music] soon [Music] [Applause] know now you are ready for a day the best day Cheers [Music] Cheers hello right well you have just seeing us three glasses of champagne each in the uh in the tour but we’re now EP in uh on the Avenue to champan yeah in the north of France it’s quite North isn’t it yeah we’re about 3 hours from Cal aren’t we what a place this is this is a real tree if you get the chance to come here it’s brilliant loved it it’s like this street under every under this Avenue there like every major champagne house along the street and in the sellers it’s just got like millions and millions and millions of pounds worth of champagne it’s it’s just quite incredible there was 3 million bottles of champagne in the sellers that we just been in the merci we did the Merc you got a little trade it was amazing and they sell 30 million a year [Music] well that’s the end of our holiday we’re on our way back home and uh what a fantastic time we’ve had uh really good weather really good weather uh exceptionally warm for the time of year I’d say and uh generally really amazing holid so look forward to uh doing it again next time okay see you later [Music]

That was a really lovely series of videos from your trip around Europe. I enjoyed them very much. Thank you.
We really enjoyed binging this series. We were in Grimaud a week or 2 earlier but stayed on the beach side. Took us 1.5 hours to check in, and at 6am every morning some @@@@ beeped his horn as he drove to work.
Looking forward to series 2 tomorrow 😊
