💪 This was probably the final opportunity for the pure sprinters and a decisive stage in the fight for the green jersey. This double challenge, and the unfortunate arrival of the rain, made the stage uncertain and tense for our fast men!

Here’s the summary of stage 17 of the #TDF2025!

When the body feels like it wants to give up, it’s amazing what the mind can do. Venard starts the assault. Look at the face of Paga. You were at the limit. Some points. There’s a little bit of hurt for the first time on the yellow jerseys face. Gashinar, what a day. He made it to the finish line. But these riders refuse to give in. That’s what the tour to France is all about. I enjoy really a lot this time. I have to say so many supporters. So really, really beautiful day. I have to say it’s not uh a usual spring stage today at least if we are four or five teams to control I think it’s going to be easy we are now normally at stage but yeah you never know with this path Yeah, can be rainy in the final. So, it’ll be good to be at front. Milan is the strongest. He’s like K was super strong. Malia is a real thinker. He’s really smart. It looks like maybe the last opportunity. The amas likely the last chance for sprinters given changes to the final stage in Paris. The finish in Valance has previously crowned Griel, Seigon, and also Cavdish in 2021 without major challenges. The team’s aiming to deliver a bunch sprint. Your four riders were of a mind to test the Pelaton’s control. Groupama’s Kanton Pashe, Matthew Burgado of Total Energy, Stage 11 winner Jonas Abramson, as well as EF Education’s Venenzo Albaness. Inosios Axel Lauron elected to give a solo chase. Instead, the Frenchman was caught in no man’s land. All right, Axel, for me, they don’t let up the gas, so you can wait. Wait for the bunch and then we go with the plan after the sprint and into this climb to try and the sprinters teams. Okay, I repeat, better you wait now and save after 202 moves to the right hand side. Tis Mera, Phil Bowhouse. Those are the sprinters who look like they’re going to go for this. Yeah, they leave it at leaving it really late today. 200 m to go. Tom Scoins on the front and here goes the lead out train with Simony Console. Milan now kicks in the middle. Binim Gay in the wheel. Milan looks around. So Milan takes it from Gay. [Music] [Music] By the foot of the first climb, the gap was falling further in large part thanks to Inios setting a high tempo at the code deer. The pace was proving too much for some. A bit of panic setting in for teams hoping for a sprint. The green jersey among those being left behind. [Music] One long line now as the riders make their way over the first climb of the day. The CES a big gap there. There’s no that’s not the green jersey group. There’s a green jersey group. So he has some mel here. I can see him there. And there’s a white kids. So all the sprinters are in the back inside the final 80 km. And the sprinters had worked their way back into the Pelaton. The leading group with around a minute on them ahead of the final climb of the day. [Music] You could bet there’s a coming up on the front. Well, he’s not interested in this being a bunch sprint. Wow. Vanard goes on the attack now. Start raining at 10k to go. 10k to go. Start the rain now at 10k to go. Vanard caught with 34 km left. The Pelaton upping the ante in pursuit. Rainfall certainly added further uncertainty to proceedings. All set up now for a final splash. And a Branson wasn’t about to hang around. [Music] So in 500 meters they will go left and it gets a lot narrower. We go from two lanes into one and the corners in oh massive crash. Oh crash and a load of riders hit the deck including Benium Gai including the Israel riders. One rider from Picnic and Kaden Groves is held up as well. And here’s the left corner. Left hand turn. A crash mod finish to today’s stage. As we get ready, Ballerini’s in position. Lotto start to lead out. Ballerini looking for this victory. Yord miss is also there. So is Arnold Dele. And now Lotto start the sprint. Big acceleration from Fedorov as he brings Ballerini to the front. Arnold Dele goes on the left hand side. Paul Penowat is also there getting set. Here’s the rider from the picnic post. NL Team 2. He starts to sprint. Jonathan Milan gets ready. Milan starts to kick. Honor Dee hits his wheel and they go. Milan is going straight for the line to be challenged by Yordi Mus, but it’s Jonathan Milan who wins the stage. [Music] I’m I’m really happy and without words I have to say. I actually didn’t know that there was a crash. I didn’t survived alone. I survived always with with the help of my teammates. Without all this, I would not be here. Maybe I will be already dropped in one of the climbs. I really have to thanks them uh with the with the bottom of my heart. Super super happy for all of us. Milan with another powerful finish to victory. No rematch with Tim Malier. Both now with two wins each this tour. Jordi M and Tobias Andre on the podium. A 50th yellow jersey on the tour earned by Danny Pagatcha. The world champion said he knows he’ll have a big defense to come tomorrow. Well, a defining day in the points classification. Milan taking a big stride by opening a 72point gap over Pugachar. And with no points up for grabs, the Slovenian is still with the polka dots. The King of the Mountains fight resumeuming on stage 18. And Leoette still in possession of the white jersey. But how will things shake up after the queen stage tomorrow?

  1. I just can't get into the group sprint stages, they almost always include crashes, people losing their dream of completing the Tour de France and possibly more races this year depending on injury severity, all so one guy who's 4 hours behind in the GC can win by half a wheel?. It just doesn't make sense to me.

  2. Many may not realised this and keep on saying Pogacar is doping..but no one see how good his techniques on the bike compared to Jonas at the moment, since uae is a new team 2017, they invested in the young guys..plus now they have awesome domestiques. And this year, the energy management they do for Pogacar is regiment looking as well. He looks fresh even after this climb.
