Stop resisting. The police have had enough. Stop. Stop. Stop. Okay, stand still. Get off your bike for me now. Get off your bike. Get off your bike. Ebikes have got out of hand. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. This man’s bike can do 60 m an hour. No. All right. Well, a two isn’t a six, is it? 61 mph. No. PC. Paige Gartland was hit by one. Locked him up just driving and he literally drove at me. I’ve had to like tackle him to the floor. You can physically tell by looking at the bike that it is generally going to be illegal. I think the key indicators that give that away are the battery pack that’s taped onto the side here. Um and then generally the size of the motor that’s on the back wheel. This one has been adapted to do more than 50 km an hour, just over 30 m an hour. Officers target New Street in Birmingham where there are lots of delivery riders. They’re only supposed to do 15 miles an hour. We’ve been here less than an hour and already police have confiscated four bikes. They suspect all of them have been illegally modified and they think one of them can do more than 40 m an hour. While filming the operation attracted a lot of attention. Have you nearly been hit by one? Yeah. Main Stratford Road. Others are angry that low paid workers are being targeted. They’re disproportionately looking at say delivery drivers who are going to be often say like uh people with lower incomes, people who are struggling. So just adding that as an extra thing, I think it’s really gross. Some arrested are suspected of entering the country illegally. Immigration officers are here as part of a nationwide operation which has seen more than 7,000 arrests in the last year, a 50% increase. Demos does have the correct paperwork but his bike has been seized. I am the person who live in this city. I have responsibility. I know. I know. That’s why I thought I I ride legal bike. I had illegal one before. Do you feel sorry for what you’ve done? Of course. Sure. Of course. I did a mistake. I know. The food delivery companies say they’re working with the government to increase security checks on riders and those with illegal bikes won’t be getting them back. Lisa Dow, Sky News, Birmingham.

These aren't bicycles, they are motorbikes, and as such are subject to motorbike laws.
Saying it affects low paid workers is absolute nonsense, as they could either get a motorbike or use a legal e-bike.
I KNOW SHE IS REALLY GROSS. What about the victims hit with these 2 wheel rockets who’s riders think they are above the law then ?
most of them international student's working to pay university fees, helping familys back home, working to pay rents, expense allow international student's to work more than 30 hours and catch people coming on boats without visa
The police have had enough…I think we all have had enough of them. The food delivery companies will be doing nothing I bet.
Errrrrr so why isn't Amazon etc held accountable for selling them 🤔

01:37 look at her pin badge just above her breast pocket, 😆
She'd be better off in countires such as Brazil (not communist I know), Laos, or Cuba. 😁
Get a cookbook or go online, learn some recipes, buy the ingredients, cook yourself. Forget buying from dirty kitchens anyway
I think this is a waste of time, they should be dealing with more pressing matters not a couple of electric bikes
Gross, targeting lower class population
Lefties trying to protect illegal bike riders??? WTF 🤦♂️
when will the police take such measures when it comes to real criminals? fed up of media platforms promoting this bs and not questioning why the government aren't taking any steps to change things. rental scooter schemes aren't the best way to get the safety measures of these new conveyances.
also why are the police stealing people property only to sell it back into the market? they do not destroy these things as they claim and there's plenty of proof to that claim.
end of the day, it's about money and not safety. if they cared about our safety, these measurements would be implemented towards real criminals like the phone snatchers, not innocent people trying to earn a living. it's pathetic to witness and speaks volumes about the state of this country and the people who think they're running it
they need to do better than profiting from innocent civilians. cowardly leaders and joke of a police force. when will be question if our tax money is being spent widely 🤔 🧐
It’s seen impossible stop them ! It’s just a show off they never gonna do nothing
SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO USE THEM IN THE UK
Being a customer- I often appreciate the wording in the supermarket products —- responsibly sourced , people respect it thus wanted that in UK, likewise this must be responsibly delivered
Soon u will be forced to pay for a fart 🤡🤡🤡
And dangerous on the road
Arrested for entering the country illegally…. they took him straight to a hotel gave him a phone, food clothes and money
There looking at delivery day e-bikes while others are getting away with millions of tax, council wasting government money on no development, this my people is the U.K in a nutshell don’t get me wrong stopping illegal bikes is a must cause of danger to society but we know that’s it’s not cause of that but they not making money of it
Wes✝️ = ✝️hreatens! 🟥💥
ok, wherr's my food ? still waiting for !
There's a lot of bs in this report with regards the capabilities of these bikes, none of the ones shown here could reach the initial 60mph claim. The one shown running at 50mph is only showing that as the wheel is off the ground spinning in free air, on the ground and moving someone it probably could do 30 realistically.
Having a battery that's taped on isn't a real indicator of speed, I currently have a 15mph bike and the battery is taped on as the bike is an old mountain bike not designed to have a battery.
A big battery also isn't an indicator of speed its also just a likely to be an indicator of range.
I've been building such bikes since 2012, I've built all kinds of different speed and range combinations and one of mine is even vosa tested and DVLA registered, so I think I can more accurately judge the bikes here.
The illegality is an issue but the bigger problem is the rider and how they ride…..
Finaly someone is doing something about them
