swallowing in Avignon, France

Avignon, France feels like one huge medieval castle. All we did here was relax and swallow things, such as:

Breakfast breads from a cute little bakery (Mimi Boulangerie). Short americano, oat matcha latte, and vegan brunch from an EXTREMELY aesthetically pleasing cafe (Tulipe Cafe Restaurant). This cafe was so delicious that we came back to try their cold coffees too, which we sipped under the watchful eye of a second-story window cat.

And finally, mostly for the vibes, we convinced ourselves to sit down at a fancy restaurant, where we ordered the most overpriced and underwhelming food we’d eaten on the entire European continent.

But between the castle stones around us and the flies so numerous that we could barely breathe without ingesting them, it really felt like we had traveled to the Middle Ages, and in that way, it was a bargain.
