The 15th stage of this 122nd edition of the Tour de France. We’re leaving Muret, heading for Carcassonne, 169.300 km. We’re going to cross the Haute-Garonne, hoping that the breakaway will form, hoping for the peloton, because there’s already a lot of fatigue during this 15th stage, which promises to be magnificent. The peloton is in single file. There’s been a big slowdown. Crash! A big crash at the entrance to the bridge. Oh dear! At the exit of the roundabout. A few riders are affected, notably from Visma. Lenny Martínez is down. Along with riders from the Arkéa BNB Hotel team, Lipowitz is also down! Lipowitz is down. Lenny Martínez is caught. Julien Alaphilippe, too, with his world champion streak, remains on the ground. A day that could have smiled on Julian Alaphilippe, but which begins in the worst possible way. At the entrance to this bridge, you see this small cobblestone directional island that is well marked with paint, but we are riding very fast. Small narrowing and crash. Yes, Pablo Castrillo, also affected, but the worst affected of all the riders is Julian Alaphilippe who remains on the ground, taken care of by the tour doctor. There, he put him back. There it is, click. There, more than a minute behind for Florian Lipowitz, escorted and Julian is just going to set off again now he seems badly affected anyway. and slow down. We slow down, it’s no use. Slow down, that’s the will of the sporting direction. But he still remains at the back of this peloton, without clearly showing any desire to calm everyone down. Yes, but… That’s what I was saying earlier. You can imagine Pogacar in his yellow jersey saying: “We’re calming everyone down.” That means he’s preventing Tobias Foss, Lutsenko, and Mohoric from attacking. That would have been very badly received in 2025, 20 years ago. In a fleeting way. And we listen to Red Bull. What is happening, there’s no problem. Today is actually Pogacar Fairplay. He’s trying to calm everyone down to let us come back to the bunch. Pogacar Fairplay, he’s trying to calm everyone down to allow us to get back into the peloton. That’s how Red Bull communicates; he’s more than fairplay. We’re going to take stock of these front-runners. We’re with them right now. So we find 2 Visma: Campenaerts and Van Aert there is also a teammate of Pogacar, Tim Wellens there are four Belgians, since Arnaud De Lie is also in front, accompanied by Drizners we find two Israelis, Premier Tech, Lutsenko and Stewart another sprinter, Andresen, and Frenchmen: Mattéo Verchet, Clément Ruso. There is also at the front Pascal Ennkhoorn, Nelson Powless Matei Mohoric and the double, the double, Groves, Mathieu Van der Poel. Fifteen men at the front, 25 seconds ahead. For a time, we saw, Abrahamsen Biniam Girmai, in particular, tried to get back. Will they succeed? They are there, still intercalated in pursuit and a little further back, the yellow jersey peloton which, it seems, has reformed, since we are told that the white jersey, Lipowitz, but also, Martinez would have come back. Break in the peloton. Watch out. Milan was behind. That’s why. He’s there, Milan. He’s in third place in the second peloton. It’s broken up a little everywhere. A completely crazy start to the stage. It was expected. No, a peloton split into three. We saw Kevin Vauquelin earlier. Being at the back, the sixth-place finisher in the general classification, who’s there all alone in the wind on the left, with teammates, obviously, around him to work. Julian Alaphilippe too. The Yates brothers there, they’re really the back of the peloton. But the Milan group is right there. Watch out. Is this intermediate sprint going to be a close one? For now, no problem. The former world champion will collect his 20 points and hand over his baton gently. Yes, we can’t disorganize this group because we’re always under threat of a comeback from the peloton or a counter-attack group. Here, we’re with the Lenny Martinez group, which no longer includes Kevin Vauquelin , and that’s the good news. Mauro Schmid is there. Tim Merlier brings up the rear, but no Kevin Vauquelin , phew for the one who’s sitting sixth in the general classification this morning. Mathieu Van der Poel has racked up all the points. 20 for the intermediate sprint, remember, that’s the main objective. The stage victory. There will be 50 on the finish line in Carcassonne. We’re counting the points for Lutsenko. This breakaway that’s breaking up. A completely crazy stage. 17 seconds. Everything has to be redone, perhaps. Incredible scenario. Look, our friend, Quinn Simmons. He’s going to try. Remember that Jonathan Milan is adrift. So, at Lidl Trek, they have to bring out the big guns, the riders who still have some resources. He has a teammate, Jasper Stuyven, who will join him, accompanied by Michael Storer. Behind, we look at each other, an Astana that is coming back. Fedorov is there again. That’s it, we’re going to have it, our traditional stage with a breakaway forming. It wasn’t as simple as that. The peloton is 2.15 behind with Tadej Pogacar’s teammates putting everyone to sleep a little. And right now, with 75 kilometers to go, a group of eight is leading the way. Tim Wellens, Nelson Powless, Matei Mohoric, Carlos Rodriguez, Quinn Simmons, Michael Storer, Alexei Lutsenko, and Victor Campenaerts are around thirty seconds behind. In this group of eight, there are 26 men, including Frenchmen: Clément Berthé, Warren Barguil, Guillaume Martin, Valentin Madouas, and Axel Laurence. The peloton, around the yellow jersey, is 2 minutes 42 seconds behind. The group of Lenny Martinez, along with Jonathan Milan, is much further back, more than six minutes behind, I think now. I’ve spoiled the race. Jegat is 11 seconds behind while Michael Storer attacks. Quinn Simmons is on the wheel, and Victor Campenaerts smooths out his effort. Tim Wellens and Lutsenko are watching all this. Storer and Quinn Simmons are inseparable. Remember that these are the riders who, just now, formed a three-man breakaway, while a breakaway of 15 had developed at the start of the race. And we’re sorting through the gap. Matei Mohoric has backfired. He’s attacking on foot, he’s in trouble now. And Storer accelerates. Storer increases his pace. Storer continues. He’s going to break Quinn Simmons, yes. He’s breaking him on the most complicated gradients, but the American is still outpacing him, not giving up. Tim Wellens turns around. He’s assessing the distance separating him from the pursuers. Among them, Lutsenko, Powless, Victor Campenaerts, who isn’t asking anything of anyone. He keeps on rolling. Storer, Simmons, and Wellens are in his wheelhouse. Thibaut Neis is having a great day. He’s dropping Valentin Madouas, Jordan Jegat, and Leknessund . Storer accelerates. 350 meters left to make the difference. With a closed face, he, who finished in the top 10 of the last Giro d’Italia, still has a little energy. I have the impression that his bike is 10 times too big. It’s crazy. No, don’t you think the size of the front tube is impressive? The handlebars are super high. He’s fighting with them, in any case, like a devil. It’s rare to see Michael Storer suffer so much. Four at the front, four in a second echelon of the race. Nelson Powless is distanced a little further back. We find Thibault Néis, notably in the company of Jordan Jégat. He would be about forty seconds, 40, 45 seconds from the race leader, that is to say… Nothing. Thibault Neys, remember, along with Jordan Jegat and Leknessund, they are perhaps in the process of catching Nelson Powless and Valentin Mandouas. And Valentin Mandouas. In any case, it’s back to the front for Barguil, Vlasov, Rodriguez and therefore Lutsenko. And the one who is being forgotten, who is running at the millimeter, is Tim Wellens and Tim Wellens, he has experience. He knows how to run and he also has a very good burst of speed. He will attack. He will attack. He is being forgotten, but at the moment of the junction, he counters Tim Wellens, who, to catch him, 43 kilometers to go, it is Warren Barguil who reacts immediately because he knows that Tim Wellens is a real threat. He had already won his Belgian champion title with a more or less similar raid. Against the clock, it’s going well. Tim Wellens turns around. Huge, Warren Barguil. Remember, he came back alone since he was accompanied by Nelson Powless, who is now joined by the Jordan Jégat group. He’s the one making the effort to catch up with the Belgian champion. There isn’t much left to hope to make a difference. Tim Wellens restarts, Warren Barguil hangs on, Quinn Simmons in the wheel, Campenaerts just behind. We’re starting to fall for Carlos Rodriguez, for Michael Storer and Lutsenko yes, Barguil is huge. He’s having a great day, Warren Barguil. Be careful not to stall, not to get stuck. He’s put his head down, the Breton. Simmons is forced to make the effort just behind. Everyone is at the breaking point. He’s blown the box, Warren Barguil at the restart. He had to hold the wheels of Simmons, Vlasov, and Campenaerts, we were talking about it just before. We see very good riders suddenly crack. This was the case with Warren Barguil. And Tim Wellens, he doesn’t crack. He continues. He drives the point home. Campenaerts, explosion. Barguil, explosion. Yes, all that exploded following the attack of the Belgian champion. Campenaerts is still there, but Warren gave up. He was very far behind in the effort, Warren Barguil. And then, Wellens made the break. Perhaps a decisive moment in this 15th stage. It’s deepening. Already 30 seconds, 50 seconds on Rodriguez. We see the attack again. He had analyzed the course well, I think. We were at the top of the climb, there was still a small false flat uphill. And we thought for a long time that Warren Barguil was going to make the junction, he never looked back. Tim Wellens, sure of his strength. And then there, on his false flats, even descending, we feel that he has the power, Tim Wellens. It doesn’t turn the legs too much, but it’s effective. As long as there’s life, there’s hope for Quinn Simmons, who continues to race behind and who has just attacked the group he’s in. And as long as there’s life, there’s also hope for Wout van Aert, intercalated and who comes back to 50 seconds from the Rodriguez Simmons group, right there, and who continues to take turns with, as we saw, the Spanish champion, Ivan Roméo. Objective, always. We can say, a top 10 on this stage. That’s something to look at in this group. I think it’s going to come back. The Van Aert group, there, will get along, will perhaps get back on, I think, will get back on this group to fight. For second place. We have a motivated duo, Van Aert-Romeo, who are taking turns to get back on the Simmons group. We have two real brutes, two specialists in time control. It’s true that it’s not for the win, but hats off to them for insisting like this. It’s true that we’re not in the same state of euphoria when we’re in the place Van Aert and Romeo in pursuit of a group that Tim Wellens is alone, who will arrive under the 10-kilometer banner with more than a minute and a half ahead. I can assure you, he’s caressing the pedals, he can’t feel anything anymore. He too will make up time. It’s good, yes, it’s good. I think, 1.48, 3.400 kilometers. He will go for the victory. Tricolor jersey of Belgian champion on his shoulders, started more than 40 kilometers from the finish. Very strong, too strong. Already, double stage winner on the roads of the Giro d’Italia, double stage winner on the roads of the Giro d’Espanya. He now enters the closed circle of those who have won at least one stage victory in the three major tours. He will offer himself this immense pleasure with, in addition to that, his magnificent jersey of Belgian champion on his shoulders. He becomes the 113th to achieve this feat. Tim Wellens, at his peak. Campenaerts, the valiant second, the sprint behind, perhaps a Belgian hat-trick, or even a Belgian quadruple. Van Aert, who is the best. We come back with Julian Alaphilippe, right there. Axel Laurence is on the line. Photo finish! No, don’t worry, there are people ahead. It’s a joke. Reassure me. Yes. Information from Louis-Pierre on the finish line. It’s not a joke and Julian did not want to comment after this stage. Ben Healy will be the first of the peloton to cross the line. His team worked to reduce the gap. A peloton that finishes more than six minutes behind the day’s big winner, Tim Wellens. His 41st victory among professionals. His first on the roads of the Tour de France. Before that, we discover the top 10 of this stage where the French did honor. With five Frenchmen in the top 10, Paul Penhoet, I have a slight doubt that needs to be verified. In any case, it’s Tim Wellens who triumphs.

I feel like this fairplay thing should be made more clear cut. Write down some rules so that riders know what's expected of them. Here TP was expected to slow down not just himself, but the whole bunch, whereas MvdP dropped him for good when he fell in the Roubaix and no one raised a finger. Pretty confusing.
He is the Stupidest rider ever!!!
Did no one think those rocks embedded in the road would cause a problem for the cyclists?
at one time he start celebrating for the win
then somebody pass him.
Who cares! He was great today After the crash. Dumb journalists, Always searching for the mistakes of other people.
Tour de France hat was gegen Deutsch hahah
