how to get from London Heathrow Airport to the city center let’s start with the cheapest but least convenient option the padil line it takes about an hour to get into the center of the city but it only costs £550 and it is often hot crowded and has nowhere to put your bags then there’s the Mega Bus and National Express coaches which get you to Victoria for a bit more than the padilly line costs they run 24 hours a day but you could also get stuck in traffic the Elizabeth line takes you to Central London in about 35 minutes and costs 12280 there’s no where specifically to put your bags but it’s a pretty comfy ride for the price then there’s the hether express which gets you to Paddington Station in around 15 minutes so it’s fast but it’s 25 L each way however if you buy your tickets a few months in advance you can sometimes snag super cheap ones plus kids go free not helpful if you’re not staying anywhere near Paddington though and taxi there’s Uber a black taxi rank or you can pre-book your taxi you can expect to pay between 50 to 100 lb depending on traffic and where your hotel is

  1. Brrrrr (loud buzzer sound, Lol!) I just bought Heathrow Express one way tickets for our trip in December for £10 each! Thanks for the reminder though, otherwise in December I would have paid the full £25.

  2. Landing at Heathrow at 9:05 on Oct 13th! Two people, two rolling bags each and two backpacks. Going to Piccadilly Circus. EL says a 16 min walk to our hotel, not looking forward to that. Piccadilly line says a 3 min walk. With all the luggage should I hang it up and take a 60 pound taxi? Does Piccadilly station have a lift or am I hiking up stairs with all this? Thanks for the help! Can’t wait to visit your city!

  3. I'm a londoner and I just make my life as easy as possible with uber. After a long flight I don't mind paying more. The picadilly line is so slow and no air conditioning but if you don't mind doing it on the cheap then just do that and welcome to London!

  4. Picadally line was brutal with the time length of an hour trip but worked. Had own seat, and was empty. Older train had a less annoying announcement system too and As well as saw nice views and especially when passed a golf course but it was long. When got to terminal stops it took a while with 10-8 min slowdown waiting at two stops. Also to transfer from green district line was easy right across platform.

  5. Always buy a day pass its cheaper and you can travel all day on it,it could save you around £15.forget taxis they will charge you alot, its also cheaper to use an E bike if the weather is nice.

  6. For the Piccadilly Line, you can go to Hatton Cross for free, tap out, tap in, and go all the way to the city centre for £3.60 off peak and £5.20 in peak, compared to the £5.80 at all times

  7. If you are disabled & in a wheelchair, the Heathrow Express is your best option. Completely step-free from start to finish & there are people working for them who specifically are there to make sure the disabled are taken care of.

  8. A few years ago when Concorde was still operating It cost more per mile to use the Heathrow Express ( owned by the same company as the airport) than flying Concorde!!

  9. I just came back from London. She is right, trains the best .If you are staying at Heathrow than the free train from underground to terminal you need is great.

  10. LHR is very well connected in the east-west directions like central London but if you want to go north or south from LHR you’ve got zero options so for example if you wanted to go to Weybridge from LHR which is about 25 mins by car you’re looking at up to 2 hours by train

  11. We took Picadilly from the airport to Gloucester Road, the trip was great. We then took the Elizabeth line from Farringdon to the airport, big mistake, it was crowded and super annoying.

  12. The Picc extension to Heathrow was a bit of an afterthought so it has rather had its time. It also has 52 year old trains – but good news is that newer, better and cooled trains will be in service next year…at last!
