Hope this is the right sub for this. As the title reads, I have 30+ year old Trek 8000 that I stil ridel with the kids. You will probably think im rushing in to this decision but I wouldn't mind a new bike.
It will mainly be for pavements and grass( when I go fishing neighborhood ponds) and some rides up to an hour (that old Trek seat is uncomfortable)
Is a fat tire bike acceptable or stick with a mountain bike again.
My only experience with fat tire bikes is my son has one that I briefly road, seems fun, little noisy on the road.
I'd like to stay around $500 but if going up to 1k would even make a difference in quality that would be fine.
