I got this Motobecane bike for free, it’s a bit rusty and needs some love and care but I think it will make a nice commuter so I am restoring it. My guess is that it’s from the 70s but I don’t know much about vintage bikes and I would like to learn more about it, so I thought I’ll ask here.
Literally anything would be interesting – when was it made, what model is it, are any parts not the original design (the dynamo for sure but anything else?), what is the thing on photo with question mark (lock?), does it have any value, is it worth investing more in the renovation?
The bikeshop from the sticker still exists so I will visit them if I’m in Munich at some point but doubt they remember bikes they sold this long ago…
