follow me for the famous castle a stroll around the old town with lots of shopping and food 
and great viewpoints Are you [Music] ready hey adventurers welcome back to the urban 
jungle I’m your German girl girly and tour guide for beautiful Heidelberg The city 
obviously is famous for its wellpreserved castle the H Heidelberger Schloss and we’re 
going to explore it Is the day trip worth it the first cool thing is that you can experience 
a big chunk of the castle for free Just look at this complex building structure What would 
you guess how old is this castle [Music] its origins date back to the 13th century In 
the late 1600s it slowly began to look like the castle that you know today If you follow the 
surrounding path you reach a park where also the locals relax and you can get a good glance over 
the old town of Heidelberg. But we want more. Okay let’s buy the tickets Entry 
for adults is €11 and kids €5.50 and it includes the whole inside area as 
well as the funicular railway to go back down Wow this just looks like out of a fairytale And speaking of fairy tales the Regal family 
once lived here Heidelberg castle was primarily the residence of the count’s Palatinate and 
later the prince electives of the Palatinate specifically from the house of Viddlesbah 
and there we have our link back to Bavaria Neuschwanstein Castle Nymphenburg castle all 
this belongs to the Wittelsbach family amazing right need more info then you 
can also download the app or book a guided tour In my opinion 
you can spend some good 2 hours here And don’t forget to drop by the souvenir 
store I’m pleasantly surprised because they have cool stuff for the bigger and smaller 
guests Just look at this beautiful scarf Or do you maybe want your own night and 
shining armor okay so far so good Not only the castle also H Highleberg’s old 
town is exceptionally pretty Just look at [Music] this You can actually eat right at 
the town square glancing at the gorgeous Heiliggeistkirche Holy Spirit Church 
without having to stand in line I love [Music] it So here we do have the 
pan fried maltashen Germanstyle dumplings with little salad on the 
side The curry was was good too Not too fancy but for 12 and 10 euros 
definitely a fair price and a nice snack With its many many small back streets 
some alternative stores and wonderful signs and decorations Heidelberg has 
a charm all of its own Luckily it wasn’t bombarded during World War 
II The pedestrian zone is endlessly long and has a super cozy vibe We 
just have to check it out [Music] Is this how you imagine Germany let 
me know down in the comments I’m super [Music] curious For amazing cakes pay a visit 
to Schafheutle – a great confectionary that also produces chocolates and many Easter and seasonally 
inspired sweets Maybe something to bring home But the competition is not sleeping 
either. Heidelberg has good bakeries and shops with locally sourced and handcrafted gifts. From honey and soaps to stationery and 
syrups it’s just fun to stroll around [Music] If you’re more of a practical type WMF is a super 
famous and widespread German household and kitchen goods maker with items in every price category You 
like it more colorful then you will love pylons where anything you can imagine is covered with 
color and flower explosions This is for the good [Music] vibes Ah how cute [Music] Did you know 
that Heidelberg has one of Germany’s best universities also good to love the city and thanks 
to all the students it will stay lively Win-win [Music] What I also love about Heidelberg 
is that you can find all kinds of shops in all kinds of price ranges from department 
stores in upper and mid-pric segment clothing to serious jewelers and fashion jewelers 
By the way I’m an addict to visual push Oh do you know these wooden 
figurines like the nutcracker as super common as Christmas 
decorations around the [Music] house Before we make our way to the best 
viewpoint over the whole city let’s fuel up with delicious ice cream With under €4 the 
prices for two scoops of gelato are super reasonable Or try one of the huge cups like 
spaghetti ice cream I had amazing chocolate and yogurt combo and some people even say it’s 
the best ice cream in town I would not [Music] disagree with new power Off to sightseeing 
we go again We’re here at the city gate Wow I love it Of course it leads to a 
bridge and the view is just breathtaking Can you see these beautiful 
houses alongside River Neckar. And of course the castle Wow the city 
and the castle look so medieval just how I imagined We’re only missing the horse 
guard rattling over the cobblestone streets.e If you are up for a little walk I’ll show you my favorite view on the castle but 
it needs to be earned I tell you We’re following the Schlangenweg – snail trail 
because it literally leads up the hill in zigzag. And did I promise too much i could sit here and 
gaze at the city the whole day just like many many great figures did before us Goethe and Mark 
Twain for example already enjoyed this gorgeous view And you will you visit this spot here is
