Good morning everybody. It is race day. Um, welcome to the channel. My name is Chris. I’m your coach and sports therapist. Uh, for those who don’t know and who haven’t subscribed yet, um, I’m in Swansea doing the I am on a 70.3 Swansea distance race. It is currently 11 minutes past 5 and uh we are on our way to transition to set a water bike, set everything um put the tires, put the nutrition on and uh get Finn ready and reving to go. But um we’ve been blessed with a beautiful, beautiful morning. A beautiful, beautiful day is ahead of us and uh really really excited for this race to happen. If you haven’t seen any of the videos building up, then uh you’ll know. But um yeah, if you haven’t already, hit that subscribe button, become a part of the community, and uh enjoy this video, right? If you are racing, good luck. You know, I wish you nothing but the best. I hope you have a safe uh race. You know, it is currently a heat wave here in uh Swansea in Wales in the UK for the first time ever. Last week it was hammering it down, which is classic Wales and classic Britain. Um but yeah, we’ve got a heat wave. So stay hydrated, keep the salts flowing, and uh hopefully I’ll see you around the course if I don’t see you in transition. All right, but yeah, enjoy the video. See you in a bit. So bike is all done and dusted. Tires all checked with my trusty pump. Uh nutrition is on the bike. Um, literally all happy to go. Just helped Matthew with his bike. So, you bit more calm now. Yeah. Little bit. A little bit. Not much. It’s all good, mate. It’s all natural. Everyone is exactly the same. Um, so yeah, it’s all us on the bus. So, it’s getting busier and busier as we can see. But as you can see as well, sun’s coming over this side and it is looking glorious. Um, seen Dan. He’s sorted his bike out and um yeah, feeling good. One of the best things about literally staying down the road from transition is I can literally pop to back to the hotel, drop this off, uh literally take less than 5 minutes and then I’ll be back here. So, um yeah, well worth looking into locations for hotels and so on so forth cuz the further you are naturally, the the harder it is uh and so on. But um yeah, feeling good. Nervous energy hasn’t hit yet. Although uh I didn’t get much sleep cuz I was trying to edit um yesterday’s videos. Managed to get one of them up. Uh but the internet is so slow in the hotel that I’ve only uh managed to upload 55% throughout the night and uh what normally takes like 20 minutes is uh taking half a day. Uh so bear with me. I was hoping to get it up last night um just so you could all watch it and then lead into today’s race, but uh it’ll be on later after after this race and then I’ll edit this uh as soon as I can and get it out to you guys, you know, but uh yeah, hope you enjoy the footage. All right, I’ll speak to you in a bit. Hey, so pro tip, right? Um literally my family are here, you know. Say hey guys. Yeah, here he is. Hello. And um literally you got Saints Beach just over here. You got Wagamas by there and my hotel by there. There’s a secret car park just alongside the hotel. Everyone parks in Sainsburries and at the moment their app’s not working. So every one of them is going to get an £85 fine, right? Which isn’t cool. Um, but you just take the hit cuz it’s race day and you haven’t got anywhere else to park. Now, down the main road here is another main car park that everyone sees, but what they don’t see is if you take the next right hand side turn, there’s a secret car park. The car park that literally is on the back of my hotel. That is the car park I fully recommend parking in just because it’s empty and it’s quiet. It’s quiet and it’s 11 quid for the day. So, it’s beautiful. Yeah, totally recommended guys, right? But it’s the one literally next to the Premier. It’s an NCP car park. So, uh yeah, you’re struggling for car parking and so on. And then literally transition is just down here. So yeah, stress stress free, you know. But um it is currently coming up to 6:00. Got a whole hour until I need to be thinking about the water. Um and yeah, feeling chilled. You know, this is why I think Swansea is so good in regards to uh um the race itself. Like you know, uh the vibe here is is brilliant. I can. And then uh literally accommodation generally is um super close to transition, you know. So even if you’re by the swim, it’s just across the bridge. And if you’re anywhere around here, it’s literally within walking distance. So you haven’t got to stress. Uh because if you’ve been a subscriber for long enough, you’ll know a couple years ago um I was doing Wales and stayed 20 minutes away from uh transition and it was a nightmare cuz of traffic and so on. So yeah, never again. But yeah, little pro tip for you, right? See you in a bit, guys. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Cheers. Have a nice day. So literally just shamied up and uh met a few people doing their first 70.3 Iron Man and um this one guys doing an Iron Man Barcelona later this year for his first Iron Man. So, this is uh the kind of build up towards that. And then after that, uh which is funny because I said to him, uh I’m actually going to be over there supporting. It’s meant to be racing, but unfortunately one of our clients uh broke her arm. So, um decided to defer that like you know, and then uh literally um so we decided to just make make a little holiday out of it like you know, go over there support cuz we can’t defer the flights or the accommodation. So it’s all paid for so you might as well in it, you know. So if you’re doing I’m in Barcelona later this year, let me know in the comment section. Um so I can add you and then track you on a day, support you guys, get you in on the the video I’ll be creating for that. But um yeah, feeling good all shamied up and then uh good to go. Hope you enjoy the footage. My partner is going to do her best to um get as much footage as possible, get as much of you in the videos as possible. So, uh if you see yourself, let me know. Tag the time and uh let me know in the comment section. All right, have an incredible race and I shall see you afterwards. All right, take care. The yellow bars. This is where the section for the yellow bags is, you know, just on just before or just after the turning, should I say, as you’re coming out, right? And for me, I’m just here. As you can see, not everybody does it, you know, and that’s that’s completely personal preference. The road you’re trying to running on is a typical British road. You know, you’re going to have stones on here. Yes, they do try to sweep it for sharps and stuff like that, but naturally, uh, it isn’t perfect. But, um, yeah, yellow bags. This was introduced last year uh and last year it was around the corner um coming straighter. This is a better setup because it’s naturally in the flow of things whereas you had to kind of take yourself out of the race a minute just to then kind of continue. Uh whereas this I think will be a little bit more popular as the years kind of go on if you will. But um yeah, literally heading on and then you come out there all the way down and then turn across the bridge into transition. Um and then you are on the bike and on to have a good day hopefully, you know. But um yeah, it’s uh slowly getting warm. At the moment, um it’s perfectly wet suit legal. Uh everyone was kind of freaking out about whether it would be or not, but um with the night cooling down and then the morning and so on so forth, it’s in my opinion, it was always going to be wet suit eagle. you know, uh I’ll be amazed when I see a British race um kind of build up to those temperatures that it’s not wet suit legal and then you’ll see a host of panic over a number of athletes uh for natural reasons. But uh yeah, enjoy enjoy the race. Go [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Oh, heat, heat. Oh, heat, heat. Yeah. Heat. Those who didn’t, if you need any help, just reach out, give me a little shout, and then um have a little conversation, you know, cuz I know what it feels like. I’ve I’ve had DNS before uh because of mechanicals and stuff like that. So, it stings, right? But, um, yeah, if you do want to reach out, head over to my Instagram, drop me a little message. Um, but, um, yeah, hope you’ve all stayed safe. None of you are injured. And, uh, hope you all had an incredible day. It was incredibly tough. Incredibly tough. I’m not just saying it. Um, physically feeling it. And, uh, I’m absolutely done in u, but yeah, grateful uh, to be finished and grateful to have finished. But um hope you have an amazing uh day and uh I’ll see you soon. Take care.

  1. Iam not in video but my family are. At the swim start and finish line. Keep up hard work mate. I watched last years videos and the build up ones for this years. Helped me massively for my first 70.3. Keep doing what you doing!
