[Music]
All right, folks, and welcome back to BK42 And I just want to record the first ride at the Engwe P275 SE. I want to get my first impression. So, I didn’t
record anything else, but this is just the first ride I want to show and see how I feel. I feel
about this bike. And to be honest… I feel amazing!!! [BK42 Logo’s Explosion] Okay, I got it on the level “0”. I
need some… little assistance on the first level and I feel like riding a normal
and usual push bike. Wow!! it is super super comfortable. I don’t even feel like I’m on
a ebike. Yeah, now I can get the support. One thing I really like already is the torque
sensor that is adjusting to my… yeah pedaling style. Now I’m pushing more and it gives a lot
more speed. Of course, this is a city bike, a legal European bike. So the maximum support
I will get is 25 km/h, which is not bad for this kind of bike. I don’t need anything more
than that. The bike is super super lightweight. It’s a fun ride. The 250 W motor provides a solid
42 Newton meters of torque, more than adequate for a city bike in this category. Assistance from the
motor is kept at 25 km/ hour in line with European regulations. Of course, you can ride faster,
but that’ll be purely on your own pedal power. One thing worth highlighting, the motor operates
with impressive quietness, almost silent, which adds to the overall refined experience. Powering
the system is a 36V, 13Ahre, movable battery. You can charge it directly on the bike or remove
it for convenience, whether you are at home or at the office. [Music] The bike itself weighs 24 kg
and accommodates riders between 155 and 186 cm in height. And in case the battery runs out, there’s
no need to worry. Pedaling home without electric support feels very much like riding a regular
push bike. It’s well balanced and rolls smoothly even without motor assistance. Yeah, I told you
that it’s a very lightweight bike. So now let’s check it out how difficult it is to go up and
downstairs. [Music] Easy. [Music] No problem at all You know what? I feel like I’m riding a high-quality
e-bike. Even though this is an affordable city step through e-bike, it’s under €1,100 if I’m
not wrong. By the way, if you stick with me to the end, you will get a discount code and you will
pay even less for this bike. So, stay around. This model comes with a seven-speed Shimano
derailure. And I have to say the gear changes are smooth and well tuned straight from the
factory. It’s not fancy, but it works reliably. [Shifting Gears Sound] The frame is a one-size aluminum design, and
it really does feel premium in the hand and on the road. It’s not just the paintwork and the
elegant color, though those are well done. It’s also the clean, seamless welding. There are
no visible joints, which gives it a refined, almost bespoke look. Up front, you get a basic
suspension fork. There are no adjustment options, and there’s no rear suspension, but that’s to
be expected on a city focused bike like this. The adjustable stem gives you plenty of a
flexibility to dial in a riding position that works for you. And the handlebars are
a good width, comfortable for longer rides without feeling bulky. Controls are well laid out. Front brake, display, and motor controls are all on the left. On the
right, there’s the rear brake, gear shifter, and a small integrated bell. The rubber grips are
decent. I appreciate the internal cable routing. It keeps the bike looking clean and sleek. Now I’m
at the level “2”. I will switch to the level “5”, the maximum pedal assistant. And I will try to
push it harder to see what’s going to happen. [Music] Oh yeah, it’s smooth and
steady and powerful. Yeah, look at this. Taking off is easy. I am
still exercising. There is no throttle. So, if I stop pedaling, the bike of course will
stop pushing, which is good. I keep my exercise [Laugh] Done! The rear hack can take up to 25 kg, which
is a lot, really! And the front one, I don’t know, then you can buy it and install whatever you feels
like. It also comes with integrated lights to switch it on, I just need to press and hold the
plus button. There is no braking lights as well. There is no cut off sensor on the the brakes.
The 28″ wheels are a great fit for this bike. Paired with CST urban tires that feature a subtle
reflective stripe to enhance visibility at night. Functional plastic mudguards and a clean looking
chain guard help keep you dry and tidy on the road. And while the saddle isn’t particularly
fancy, it offers a good level of comfort for everyday riding. All right, now I’m going down
and I will just turn the bike off. Let me try to get some speed without a motor. I have no idea
how fast I’m going. There is no display now. But I want to test out the brakes. I should be about 30 or 34 km/h. I don’t know. Around some of around that. Yeah, the hydraulic brakes
are just amazing. It comes with 160 mm rotors. [Noise] If it runs out of battery, going back home is
not a problem at all. Let me try uphill at the level three. Oh man, sweet. That’s really
easy. The riding position is great. I can keep my my back almost straight and my legs are
fully stent, so I can deliver the full power. I could ride this bike for hours without getting
tired. So, here’s a quick breakdown of what I liked and what could be better. Pros: quiet
yet capable motor with solid torque; Removable battery for convenient charging; Comfortable and
upright riding position; Responsive hydraulic disc brakes; Lightweight high quality frame;
Integrated front and rear lights; Bluetooth app support for ride statistics; Excellent
value for a budget-friendly city e-bike. Cons: no rear suspension which may be noticeable
on rougher roads; Lacks motor cutff sensors on the brake levers. This bike arrived very well
packed and assembling it is very, very, easy. You can watch the video right here. At the time of
recording, the Engwe P275 SE is priced at €1,199. It’s available in sky blue or gray,
comes with a one-year warranty, and includes free delivery within Europe, and as
I mentioned earlier, you can save €100 instantly by using the code “BK42 Cycles” at checkout. What about the battery range? Well, Engwe says on the website that it’s supposed to do at
least 60 kilometers. So far, I’ve been riding about 16.2 km and it’s down one bar only. So, I
guess it will easily do around 100 kilometers, especially keeping at the level “1” or “2”,
which is already great. All right, that’s it folks. I hope this video will help you making
the right decision. And if you have any question, let me know in the comments below. I will reply to
you as soon as I can. Thanks for watching. Cheers. [BK42 Logo’s Explosion] [Funny Music]
