Pro Crit Racing tip: Don’t start at the back. The atmosphere and fun, technical circuit at Sheffield Grand Prix was amazing, I just wish I’d had a better start. I tried a slightly different warm up strategy, but it didn’t quite work out. I had to fight from the very back through the bunch just to stay in the race.

2 rounds of the National Crit Series to go!

Sheffield GP is the fourth round of the British National Crit series; 6 races throughout July up and down the UK where the best crit racers in the world go head to head. I’m racing the whole series this year, so wanted to document the races and capture the vibe to show the UK racing scene at its best.

Round 1 – Otley GP: 38th / 112
Round 2 – Ilkley GP: 35th / 92
Round 3 – Guildford GP: 33rd / 77

[Music] [Applause] That looked hard when you start the back, the very back. And my right turns were much better. Sheffield GP in a word. Fun circuit. Really fun but hard when you start right at the back. That’s 11 words. Yeah, I was able to give which you couldn’t at Gilford, but I just started at the back. It like it like she’s carrying the bike. Well, I started dead at last, but I didn’t finish dead at last. So, really good at the start. Well, did a proper warm up, but then I cramped for like half an hour coffee here for a world champion, a record race winner here today at the Schwabby Grand Prix. Anna Morris. So, Robin Clay winning rounds one. Pet Richardson taking third, Robin Clay taking second, and your race win going at Morris.
