[Music] And so the next chapter begins, staring them down tonight. A Melbourne victory side who’s been through the ringer, suffering grand final heartbreak in back-to- back seasons. Maybe they can take a leaf out of the Rex and book and know there is always the chance to be the savior of the brokenhearted. And Deadpool pool in the house. There is no doubt it is such a special night. I wonder whether that could be Archie Thompson. We saw that in the uh the pregame show in the Australia Cup competition against Olympic Kingsway. Yellow chips driving forward. Santos getting on the outside. Here’s a chance for the Brazilian Santos and a Conquo called into action and Mash couldn’t untangle his feet. Now Treyor from distance victory defense need to be ready and waiting. Mash he’s going in Mash the conquo forced into a sharp save to his left and you cannot go to sleep on Melbourne victory. You cannot go to sleep on the Frenchman. Well this is Zinedine Mash all over isn’t it? Driving towards the edge of the box. Good powerful run. He’s assessing the situation and then says, “Well, it’s my turn to have a crack.” Doson pulls wide away and in. It’s O’ Conor who scores the opening goal for Rexom. And you cannot say the Red Dragons do not deserve it. They have been banging on the victory door. And finally, it’s O’ Connor, an unheralded goalcorer, who gets the account underway in Melbourne. Well, on the Harvey Norman replay, it’s a ball into a dangerous area. I think Jack Duncan was in two minds. Ollie Palmer with the cross, and I think Jack Duncan was thinking maybe collect, but then decides to punch, but it’s straight into the danger area on the edge of the D. And the cross is another good one from Barnett. Challenging for Melbourne. victory. Evans back into the mixer. Mlan angles it wide. Barnett drives it in. There’s the second and it’s the new recruit, the Scotsman Ryan Hardy. What a debut for Rexom. Just after 20 minutes for the Red Dragons and he’s found the back of the net. start to get those understandings back with your teammates. The goal scorer Ian Hardy looking for a second spills back for Evans and it creeps its way under Rascowski and George Evans the Manchester City youth product who only got limited opportunities last year just seven appearances in League One. He gets a goal in Australia and it’s 3-0 to Rex. Well, he almost looked a little embarrassed, didn’t he? It was a great run on the Harvey Norman replay to initiate the play. So, Rexom’s brand new chapter begins with a victory down under. And it was a very dominant second half display against mostly a Melbourne victory youth team. The first half was a tight affair. It was O’ Connor that put Rexom in front. A new recruit Ryan Hardy getting on the board in the second half. So too, George Evans in a 3-nil win for the Welsh outfit here in Melbourne. [Music]

  1. Two goalkeeping errors and Victory playing youth teamers; Nothing to take from this. A full 1st team all match would have been a better measure of each side and also, how an A League team stands-up to a Div1 side. Not Wrexham's' fault – you can only play what's put in front of you.

  2. The commentary of the first goal was wrexham deserved it because they had been banging on the victory door – and yet the first footage of wrexham was that goal🤔 was the commentary overblown or were these highlights missing a lot🤔
