Mo canal. Good afternoon, my channel. We’re here on the big blue bus number three heading to LAX going down Pacific Coast Highway Lincoln Boulevard. So, you know what that means, right? It’s time to take another exotic European bicycle adventure. Check out the shoes I’m wearing. So, you know, when I’m wearing the high viz green shoes, it can only mean one thing. Bicycle adventures. Okay, so uh we’re on the big blue bus here. We got our usual cast of characters. It’s been quite interesting. A lot of unhinged people, but hey, what else do you expect for $125? It’s a cost effective rides at the airport. Got to get a little free entertainment for that low budget price. Speaking of low budget prices, I am flying rock bottom price airline called North Atlantic Airways. 312 bucks LAX to Rome. It’s all a cart. They charge for everything. Seat assignment. 30 bucks for your dinner, 20 bucks for lunch. I’ve opted out of all of it. I’m bringing my own lunch here. Got a big bag of food I bought at Ralph’s. I don’t know if you can see that’s so good. Got some water bottles. We’re going to save that. Hopefully, they won’t get a little upset about my carry-on bag. I weighed it. I am at uh 19 12 lbs. They allow uh 22. So, I’m there. My backpack is stuffed to the gills. Got all my electronic stuff for making the videos along the way. So, I’m excited. I’m super early. Although, I fancy myself as some kind of great exotic world traveler. I’m actually a horrible traveler. I get very nervous when it comes to airports. I like to go so early just in case any curveballs get thrown my way. I can deal with it, not be rushed for time cuz when I get rushed, I get distracted. When I get distracted, I leave things behind. All right, so come on and join me for the journey here. It’s season two of the Danny Slan channel, episode one, heading from LAX to Rome on the super budget Norse Airlines. So, we get off the three bus, Big Blue Bus 3, takes you to the LAX Metro Transit Station. It’s a little new for me, but the free shuttle into LAX is waiting right here. And he’s going to take me directly into terminal 2 where the rock bottom price Norris Atlantic Airlines checks you in even for an international flight. No pre-boarding, no electronic boarding. Got to stand in line, get your physical ticket. Okay. The price you pay to say little do reay me. Okay, we made it to terminal 2. bus driver. Now we got to go upstairs and uh get in line and get our tickets to get boarded. So, here is the Norse Airlines uh Super Economy Light Rock Bottom Greyhound bus, Trailways Bus, Airlines of the Sky. Here’s their allowances. And I’m just proving here that this my cabin bag and my carry-on fits easily with a little with a little elbow grease. Right into the old uh right into the old pre-checking here. Got some people here behind us. Hi, how are you? I’m Danny Slant. Danny Slant. I like to ride my bike. Whenever you see me with my big high viz shoes. That’s cuz when I get on my bike, I like all the cars to see me. Oh yeah. I’m going off to Europe for my annual Eastern European bicycle adventure. Oh, no. So, I only take one pair of shoes. These are the bike shoes. I take these. I try to pack light. Try to go cheap. We’re going to try Norris Airlines. I’m not getting the meal. The meal was 30 bucks for a dinner for for nasty airline food. If you guys want snacks, I stopped at Ralph’s. I bought like 20 lbs of beef jerky. I got chips, candy bars, fruit bars, everything. Granola. We got everything. We’ll come find you. Yeah, come find me. Just Just look for me. I’ll be the big red hat. All right. Let’s have Let’s have a great bite. We’ll see. You’re going to Rome? Yes. All right. All right. So, we’ll keep an eye, we’ll keep an eye on you cuz as we, you know, when the time drags on, I never sleep on the flights. I just can’t fall asleep. I try. I catnap and then I just try to pay attention when especially when we get out to. So, I look I said, “These are my passengers. We’re going the right way toward baggage towards immigration.” Help us. Thank you. Cool. Cool. I’m Danny. Watch my channel, Danny’s Land on YouTube. Okay. Awesome. Thank you. Of course, nurse is in terminal 2. And now they wanted us to go through security in terminal one and then take a shuttle to terminal B, Tom Bradley, which I asked, can I just walk down to Bradley? And they weren’t sure if that was the appropriate security. So, I’ll just follow the follow the game plan here. And the guy who ticketed me, uh, he had no problems with the bags, didn’t weigh them, didn’t measure them, just looked at it, and then asked me, “What’s this thing here?” I said, “That’s my lunch.” And then we started talking about other stuff. been easy peasy. So, uh, so far we’re going to give a, uh, thumbs up for Norse here. They’re pretty friendly. They didn’t seem to get over, uh, uh, aggressive on the check in the bag limitations. Uh, so I’m pretty pleased. Probably all that metal in my body. Anyhow, now we’re on another shuttle. We’re taking a shuttle from terminal one post security over to terminal V. Tom Bradley. Just waiting for the shuttle bus to pull up. make our way over to the international terminal. Here’s my new book I just bought at the airport. It’s going to be a long flight, 12 hours. So, definitely want something to read. There’s only so many movies you can watch. Usually, I’m good for about one. So, this is The Bus Driver Who Wanted to Be God by Edgar Carrot, author of The Seven Good Years. So, looks like it’s a collection of uh stories, so I won’t get too bored with one story. If I don’t like it, just finish it and get to the next. $4 Diet Coke. I need some caffeine. Flight’s not going to leave for another hour and a half. I just got to be able to stay awake. Of course, I never sleep good the night before. I’m always too excited about the trip. All right, let’s get a little caffeine in me. Keep the eyes open so we get on the flight. Then, once I get in my seat, I can take a little nap. Of course, I’m bored here before the flight and I’m too tired to start reading my book. So, that means I’ll just eat my snacks. These are supposed to be the snacks for the bike journey in case you need some instant sugar carbs. These things are delicious. Oreo cakesters. I brought 10 of these along with me. Well, now we’re down to nine cuz I’m going to have one right now at the airport. All right. Dober hooch. Oh, wa. That’s cool. Okay, 11 and 1/2 hour flight. First time on Norse. Thumbs up. Thumbs up. All right. Thumbs up. Thumbs up. Except for the kid mule kicking the chair for 11 and 1/2 hours. Other than that, flight staff was really attentive. Passengers were great. Flight was smooth and the price was rock bottom. So, can’t beat it. All right. Happy European adventures, everybody. Here we go. All right. Okay, it’s official. I’ve cleared Italian customs. Welcome to Italy, my channel. Here we are in Rome. Now, I just have to figure out how to get on the international uh data plan here so I can get in touch with my uh BNB host for tonight who said she’d come to the airport and pick me up. Pola. Okay, so let me make sure I can get on there. It’s hot hot. 86° Fahrenheit and a little muggy here. Welcome to Rome. Gratzi Ma Bonjono Buenosara. Of course, with a little confusion, she wanted to pick me up at my terminal. I landed terminal 3, but for some reason, I decided to walk to terminal one. I don’t know why. I did not sleep very well on the flight. I’m half asleep. This is my This is my host, Paula. Thank you. She’s very gracious. She’s come and picking me up here from the airport. And I uh took so long making circles around the airport that we’ve got to pick up another guest. So, we’re going to drive down there and pick up the place where we’re supposed to have been. And then uh we’re going to go over to her place, which is just steps from the ocean. Paula, what’s the name of your uh of your uh house? What do you call it? It’s uh Pasa Pasa Delmare. Paso Delmare. Paso Delmare. steps from the sea. Yeah. So, so she’s got a beautiful casa right by the sea here, not too far from the airport. Great reviews. That’s why I pick her. Her all the reviews of people are mixed review. Stellar, five stars. And she’s so sweet. And even with the mixup, she come running around. I’m walking in circles in the airport. She’s very patient. Thank you very much. And uh I’m happy to be in Italy. So Paola is picking up another couple here at the Stasion Vuino Airportto. That’s the Rome airport here, which is uh actually right by the beaches here about 45 uh minutes uh from uh the uh city centrum Rome where all the tourist stuff is. But I’m just going to spend the night here and hang out by the ocean, get a little bite to eat, catch up on my sleep, get hydrated here. Just got one more couple to pick up and uh it’s hot. 86 maybe 88 degrees Fahrenheit. A lot of humidity. She’s not running the AC. I’m not used to this. I’ve been used to the breezy breezy Southern California oceanfront breezes. 66° in the morning. 72 max in the afternoon. 74 on a hot day. Woo. Uh but I better get used to this because uh we might be a little bit warmer when we get to the Czech Republic, Poland, and uh the last country which is not to be revealed yet. Uh, but generally we’re following along in a straight direction. All right, no spoilers. Remember, if you’re enjoying the content of the Danny Slam channel, make sure to hit that subscribe button, press the bell notifications, leave a like, leave a comment. It all helps with the YouTube algorithm and allows me to continue bringing you the fantabulous content of Danny Slant. Man, I better get some water. I’m a horse. So, we’re just steps from the ocean guest house. And here is our digs here for the night. Nice little courtyard. Got some lemons on the table here. Okay. Follow you. Okay. Oh, Kotchka. Hello. She is very old. 27 28 years old. Okay. Master of the house. Okay. All right. And we’re here. This is it. This is it. Shoes off. Shoe off. You want shoes off or not? Okay. In In my country, always shoes off. Always. I like to leave them on, but No. In Italy. No. No. Not leave them on. Okay. Okay. Perfect. Um please wait me for me few minutes. Okay. I arrive arrive uh I go uh check in other guests. Yeah. You come back. Okay. Right. 2 minutes. Yeah. No problem. See you soon. Okay. She going to check in. This room is great. It’s hot as hell in here. But uh yeah. So you get a little room, get a little breeze, TV, storage closet, bed, sink, toilet, drying rack, shower, shampoo. That’s all you want. It’s now 5:00 p.m. uh Rome time here, Central European time. But uh I didn’t sleep at all last night. So it’s now uh 9 hours earlier. So it is uh uh 9:00 a.m. and uh Pacific Standard Time. So it’s like I’ve stayed up for 24 straight hours. But uh it’s too early to go to bed. I’m going to walk around, probably go down to the uh beach grocery store. I actually think there’s a McDonald’s not too far from here. It’s like a mile away. Even though uh it’s not very authentic. I don’t really feel like a heavy meal. Maybe just something quick. Burger, fries, and a drink, walk around, go down the ocean, sightsee for a few seconds, come back in, do my emails, and go to bed early and uh head to the airport early tomorrow morning with that other couple that was in the car from Utah. Okay. Remember when in Rome do as the Romans the wind fumino do as the fumian chino winds and I’m going to walk up via delarro. I think farro meant ugly right? So we’re going to walk up the way of the ugly way here. And of course, where we going to go? I’m so freaking tired. I’ve been up for 26 and 1/2 hours now. Slept maybe 20 minutes on that flight. I just don’t feel like going to a local little restaurant there near the guest house. I don’t even think I can struggle with another language right now. So, uh, being that we’re so close to the airport, less than a half mile away from the guest house up at the main highway here is Mickey De’s. Yep. I can probably hopefully just order from a kiosk, get it quickly, eat it, some non-caffeinated drink, get some electrolytes going, then I’ll take a walk down to the beach for a few moments, and then I think I’m going to catch myself quite a few Z’s back at the old guest house. [Music] tempted to try out the Mc Chicken 2 Pro alone sandwich or the McChick 2 pepperoni sandwich. But we think we’re going to stick with the old tried and true, the uh burgers.
