Cycling from Surrey to Brighton via Devil’s Dyke

My first time going to Brighton with my wife siince I arrived in the UK in June of 2025. I previously worked and cycled in SIngapore for over 7 years.
I plotted the route in Komoot and we cycled from Surrey and by pass Devils Dyke to reach Brighton.

It’s a bit rainy this morning and we didn’t expect it. We’re starting here in Suri, specifically in Red Hill. Go. So, where are we going? We’re going to Brighton. That’s right. I think we just uh passed by Horley. Typically we will go to Harley from uh Red Hill to buy stuffs from Little. So going to the Riverside Garden Park. I just want to see a little bit of the pond. I think it will be more amazing when it’s not uh raining. Oh, so lovely. The scene is safe. Clear. Come on. Go. Go. [Music] So, we’re near um Gatwick airport and it’s uh nice to know you can cycle side by side with the international airport just like in um Changi which is located in Singapore. They have their own um dedicated cycling way along the airport. So if I want to bring my Brumton, I just fold it to the airport here in Gatling. Very nice. So I have a puncture. First time in a long while. So the puncture I think I already found. Very obvious. So I found the puncture guys. So the rule is always bring a spare inner tube. Okay. So the journey continues. Lesson guys, not lesson, it’s a reminder guys. Always bring a spare inner tube and tools. Moving out of crawly. [Music] So far so good. In my experience, if I have puncture, I’m a bit more like paranoid on how the wheel spins. It’s summer, but it’s a gloomy day. We already had one puncture. We’re just at the 15 kilometer mark. Another 40k to go. [Music] Looks like this is the expressway. [Music] So, I believe we just left um Crawley Center or the main town of Cwley and then we’re moving into the moving on. We’re still far away and I hope my wife is uh coping. Are you all right, my darling? Finally, we enter the woods. Is it a rice field? I don’t know. Is it wheat? Maybe because we’re in UK go. There are water streams on the sides. We’re in the countryside and I like it here though it’s hilly. There is not a lot of traffic. So we’re at the foot of Devil’s Dyke and the climb starts. You can do it. Love you. So, we’re in the final stretch of Devil’s Dyke. Off we go to Brighton cuz there are gravel. These are slippery and we’re going downhill. [Applause] [Music] Woo! We’re in Brighton. Uh, think about it 100 times. We made it. in Barton from Sur. We made it after 6 hours and 1 hour rest. In total, 7 hours. Not bad for a start. [Music] So, of course, there’s the predator. So, of course, we’re not going out with our fish and chips where you once you go Brighton, you must eat one. You okay, darling? All right. Yeah.
