Here we go for this first mountain stage of the Tour de France. We’re taking the same riders and starting again. Exactly. We’re off with an Uno-X immediately chased by a Jayco. Abrahamsen. Abrahamsen. It’s Jonas. He started the race yesterday in the lead, he finished in the lead. He’s thinking: Today, why not? Like yesterday, we see that Jonathan Milan is also there to try to break away. There will be an intermediate sprint, 20 points to be won, but to do that, they’ll have to ride the first 95 kilometers in the breakaway, if it’s large enough to leave points… Not leave points for the peloton. A big break while waiting to reach the peloton, with a large part of them having escaped at the front. There are a good fifty of them, driven by Bryan Coquard. His relay has broken up the peloton. And behind, we see that Nils Politt is in control for the UAE team. Yellow Jersey peloton 16 seconds behind. And this is going to be interesting because the first group is very large. Yes, we have almost 50 riders. It’s not a breakaway, it’s a peloton, a peloton that’s breaking away. 18 seems like a lot to me anyway. No, it’s not a joke, he weighed 60 kilos. 60? When he won at the top of the Izoard, he was anorexic, he weighed 60 kilos. And now, he weighs 78. No, he’s even less than that. We can’t be far off. How tall is he? We need to go check. 1.84 meters.
We’ll ask Louis-Pierre to go to the Uno-X hotel, see the doctor. Take measurements, the pliers. It wasn’t even Lenny who got the little point. Surprising. Fred Wright.
Fred Wright went to get the little point. We’re saving Lenny Martinez for the Soulor. Those are easy points to take. Look, we’re going to sprint with Laurenz Rex. He’s going to Paris, Mathieu. He’ll finish the tour. Thanks Mathieu. Thanks Mathieu. He’s going all out. Will he be beaten by Laurenz Rex at the finish line or not? He might even get overtaken by Theuns or Thibau Nys. Yes, at Intermarché, we remind everyone that we’re playing for the green jersey with Biniam Girmay. So, we wanted to prevent Mathieu Van der Poel from taking big points well played by Biniam Girmay’s teammates and the Lidl-Trek sprinter’s teammate. Thibau Nys. Rex, Nys, Van der Poel, it’s a trifecta. The gap has finally climbed above two minutes. Acceleration, we won’t say sharp, but in any case, a slight acceleration within the leading group. Yes, we can see the final relays, notably from Durbridge. There, it’s over. Since we remind you, Durbridge, Mauro Schmid, there, they are working for Ben O’Connor, who hasn’t pedaled a single time in this leading group. It’s over for Mauro Schmid as well. The little sign that just hurt. Summit, 11.8 km. Good luck to all. First climb classified in the first category of this Tour de France 2025, the slopes of Soulor which are approached with a 2 minute and 15 second lead for the leading group. There, we catch Laurenz Rex who won the intermediate sprint and it’s Visma – Lease a Bike who are at the head of the peloton. As expected. With Victor. And in the wheel, Sepp Kuss, former winner of the Vuelta. And in third place, we already have Matteo Jorgenson. The Pogacar-Vingegaard duo is slightly lower, behind the world champion’s teammates. Be Healy is also well placed in the wheel already of Tadej Pogacar. And we’re going to lose a lot of people. There aren’t many people left in this peloton. Look, there are about thirty units left, no more. There were 50 in front. He’s simply in good shape. Attention, important information. Remco Evenepoel is distanced from the Yellow Jersey peloton. Watch out, the White Jersey. We’ll have the image soon, but this is already a major twist. What if Remco Evenepoel couldn’t keep up with the Visma pace – Lease a bike. Is he there? Yes, Van Wilder is waiting for him. We were talking about the top 15 in difficulty. Yes, this is more than just the top 15. In difficulty, alongside Warren Barguil and Ewen Costiou in particular, Remco Evenepoel sees the Yellow Jersey group slipping away. He could lose his chances of a podium finish today. Aurélien Paret-Peintre is going there, and Carlos Rodriguez, it’s up to him to go. Carlos. And Garcia Pierna, who is still there too. He’s getting better every day, Raul Garcia-Pierna. Ben Healy, yes. The yellow jersey is in serious difficulty. And Visma too. We have two Visma riders distanced there. Wouldn’t it be, Matteo Jorgenson, distanced? We’ll zoom out a little. In any case, Ben Healy sees his yellow jersey fraying there, second by second. And Matteo Jorgenson is in trouble. Kevin Vauquelin is also having trouble. The Soulor is causing terrible damage. There’s a spectacle today on the roads of this twelfth stage of the Tour de France. Ben Healy is completely stuck. Up front, we’re going to attack to go for the points in the mountains. And as feared, Bruno Armirail doesn’t have the necessary punch. And it’s going to be a battle between Michael Woods and Mattias Skjelmose to get the 10 points at the summit. Michael Woods, third in the mountains classification, is also going to become a goal. And Michael Woods, intelligently, is looking back to see where things stand. Even if we won’t have any big transition periods, it’s not sure it’s a good idea to go it alone. He wanted to get the points. He wanted to be sure not to be beaten in the sprint by a rider like Skjelmose. Ten more points bring his total to 21. Lenny Martinez is still virtually in the white jersey with a red weight, with 27 points, but he remains under threat. As we attack the Col des Bordères, Bruno Armirail takes the lead alone. Skjelmose, Woods in pursuit. As we’ve seen, it’s not very long, but he still has some high gradients. More than three kilometers, at almost 8%. It’s a small wall that presents itself to the rider before plunging down to reach the Hautacam climb. At the pace. He prefers to at the pace. He took advantage of his descending skills, his knowledge of the terrain, to drop riders who are perhaps better climbers than him, like Rubio, like Storer here in the picture, to also drop Michael Woods and Skjelmose, who made life difficult for him on the Soulor. It’s difficult for Jorgenson. That’s a turning point. The fifth-place finisher in the general classification is starting to slip away, along with Guillaume Martin-Guyonnet. This is a real blow for the Visma Lease a Bike team and its leader, the Dane, Jonas Vingegaard. Kevin Vauquelin, we have to hang on. We have Sepp Kuss, who has also fallen back. I have the feeling we’re going to have more than Simon Yates for the Visma team. Bruno is a machine. Yeah? A machine. Dropped at the top of the gold medal, he took off on a nice, hard-hitting descent. Continuing his momentum, he approached this climb with a 10-second lead. And there, he made a real break. And five more points in the bag for Bruno Armirail. Ewen Costiou, Jordan Jégat, accompanied by Harry Sweeny and the one who, for these last minutes, is wearing the yellow jersey of leader of the general classification, obviously Ben Healy, who is, as you can see, 5 minutes 30 seconds behind the leader, Bruno Armirail, who will arrive in a slightly less favorable section, even if he has made the break. 55 seconds ahead of his following points. After that, it’s flat. Bruno rode quickly on the flat too. There’s no problem. The duel. The duel announced for many days now, many weeks. Tadej Pogacar versus Jonas Vingegard. It’s in a few moments . We’re at the foot of the last climb of the day, the first hors catégorie of this 2025 edition of the Tour de France. Bruno Armirail is starting this one in the lead. Félix Gall is in last place, Remco Evenepoel has dropped back. Kevin Vauquelin seems better than the Belgian. We’re accelerating again for Tim Wellens. There, we can sense a big acceleration from Adam Yates and Narvaez to propel Pogacar’s attack. We were expecting an attack from Vingegaard. I think Vingegaard will be preceded by an attack from Pogacar. The world champion, remember, fell yesterday, but seems fine, with 12 kilometers left to go. Remco Evenepoel will get on his pace. We saw this discussion between Narvaez and Adam Yates. To know who was better, we have the answer. It’s Narvaez who is better, who won’t accelerate for long. Pogacar’s attack is imminent. It’s cracking everyone behind. Look, the trio is breaking away. Narvaez for one last acceleration. Pogacar, Vingegaard in the wheel. Oh my! It’s clear and it hurts. It hurts a lot. The last stage of the rocket is awaited. Narvaez is going to park. He’s parked, Vingegaard. He’s parked, already. He’s already overcooked, the Dane. We took the information for Pogacar who is accelerating. We felt it coming, we saw it, even when… He’s resigned. He’s resigned, Jonas Vingegaard. His physical attitude says it all. Jonas Vingegaard is cracking. Tadej Pogacar took the break and made the break. He wasn’t bluffing when he said: This morning, no, honestly, I’m a little burned, but everything’s fine after my fall. This time, yes, since it’s still a big risk to attack so far from the summit. A calculated risk, even if Vingegaard, on the train, seems to be limiting the damage for the moment. Two different strategies. We’re already being told there’s a 14-second gap. That seems like a lot. 14 meters, yes. Watch out, it’s still a long way. It’s still very long, Hautacam. Complicated percentages. Then you have to shift up a gear. Vingegaard couldn’t keep up with the acceleration. Jonas Vingegaard isn’t the biggest puncher either. But then, Pogacar landed a big blow to the back of the Dane’s head. Bruno Armirail, digested. But what a stage by Bruno Armirail, hats off. Come on, take the wheel, Bruno. Why didn’t you take the wheel? Yes, you’d be safe. Remco, as Romain Bardet told us, very aptly on the Eurosport bike earlier , caught a heat stroke, his jersey wide open. He’ll try to limit the damage. And it continues to widen up front for Tadej Pogacar. Impassive, closed face, determined look. 27 seconds ahead of the Dane now. As for the Dauphiné, a carbon copy, he seems on another planet. Kevin Vauquelin is struggling compared to Remco Evenepoel. It’s sluggish there for Kevin. Come on! We can see he’s going deep, very deep in the suffering. Lipowitz is putting it back on. Oscar Onley follows. Lipowitz, unstoppable at the moment. Roglic pinned. Oscar Onley, the only one capable of keeping up a little with Lipowitz’s bursts of acceleration. He’ll take over from him. Oscar Onley. Already one of the images of this tour, Tadej Pogacar splitting the crowd here in Hautacam and creating almost irremediable gaps on the competition. 1’30” on Vingegaard, 2’17” on Onley, Remco Evenepoel is almost three minutes behind. Imagine the chasm. With the Slovenian supporters there, who will cheer Pogacar on , they will cheer Roglic on. And behind, Vingegaard is pushing hard. He’s not giving up either. And Lipowitz, who has dropped Onley. Florian Lipowitz. The strongest. Who dropped Onley, who dropped Primoz Roglic, his teammate or his leader. And who confirms his excellent form. He who finished on the podium at the Critérium du Dauphiné. And who is there at the pedal as the third man today. And we’re not far from two minutes as Tadej Pogacar appears under the red flame. Behind the shoulder line. But we remain largely superior. What a show of strength! What a hammer blow to his opponents. Until the end, Tadej Pogacar will try to push on. We pass under the red flame for Jonas Vingegaard, who is too far back. He’s almost done with this Hautacam stage, seeking his third road victory in this 2025 Tour de France. Unbeatable. The qualifiers are starting to run out for the Slovenian, who has decided to be an ogre once again and go for his twentieth road victory in the Tour de France. World Champion’s jersey. We felt he was hurt yesterday, but far from sunk. Tadej Pogacar is going to knock out the competition. He won’t beat Bjarne Riis’s climb record, but he won’t be far off. What a demonstration. Right to the end, under the gaze of Emmanuel Macron, Tadej Pogacar triumphs and celebrates after crossing the finish line, right to the end in the effort to extend his lead over Jonas Vingegaard, who took a serious blow to the helmet. At the end of himself. At the end of his effort. White face, marked by exertion. He would have searched deep within himself, but the gap to Tadej Pogacar is abysmal. And at the finish line, Jonas Vingegaard will have conceded 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Florian Lipowitz is already there. He’s already there. He will have conceded almost nothing to Jonas Vingegaard. Only a little over fifteen seconds, but what a climb from the German. Who left his leader or co-leader, Primoz Roglic, behind. Kevin Vauquelin will sprint to the finish. The Frenchman, also heroic on his Hautacam slopes, will finish very far behind Tadej Pogacar, but will have also limited the damage well. 3’33” behind. Lipowitz should take back the jersey. As we discover this top 10. Where the gaps are monstrous. 2’10” ahead of Vingegaard, 2’23” ahead of Lipowitz. Kevin Vauquelin, the first Frenchman, was a huge performer, sixth at 3’33”. Primoz Roglic completed the top 10.

It's over!!!!!!!
