The final day of the 56th edition of French Olympic Week (Semaine Olympique Française de Hyères – Toulon Provence Méditerranée) saw Italy join China at the top of the medal table as they won a medal of every colour across the six Medal Races after China’s exploits on Friday.
Clap de fin sur la mythique Semaine Olympique Française de Hyères, évènement incontournable et tellement apprécié des 729 athlètes venus de 56 nations cette année. Décor de rêve, conditions météo variées rythmées par deux jours de mistral, du soleil comme s’il en pleuvait, une organisation bien rodée, tous les ingrédients ont été présents pour lancer 174 courses en 6 jours pour les 10 séries ! Après les Medal Race de ce samedi, c’est l’Italie et la Chine qui remportent le plus de médailles. Avec Lauriane Nolot en Formula Kite et Louis Pignolet en Windfoil, la France gagne deux médailles de bronze. Une chose est sûre : face aux meilleurs de chacune des disciplines, de jeunes athlètes poussent fort sur les lignes de départ, à l’heure où démarre un nouveau cycle de 4 ans jusqu’aux Jeux de Los Angeles. Une incroyable dynamique enthousiasmante est en place dans toutes les nations !

[Music] one of the more hectic weeks of racing I think I’ve done and I know us as a team have ever done full power and and and going fast so it was a tight race many changes throughout the fleet and um no we couldn’t be more thankful to be here [Music] it was super fun me race we had 12 knots from east and was super fun uh on the water have been a really tight battle and uh I made enough to do the first place [Music] [Music] the day was was a nice sailing day we have nice onore breeze today and um yeah just another another great day where in the beautiful south of France delivers so we went into today’s medal race already with a 21 point advantage onto the next opponents um which put us in a pretty comfortable position uh we knew uh we were winning this regata in the end we didn’t win the medal race but that was still good enough to win the overall series and therefore we were really happy [Music]
