I spent a week on vacation in a small village near Bordeaux, but I didn’t put the bike away. In this video, I take you through how I balanced structured cycling training with time off, good food, and exploring the French countryside. It’s not always easy to stay consistent while traveling, but with a bit of planning and flexibility, it’s definitely possible.

Good morning everyone. Uh today, well this week actually uh we are in Frans very close to Bordeaux. Uh we arrived here yesterday. This is a place where I used to come when I was a little kid still. Um, we always come here every vacation and I’m going to take you guys along with me for one week of training I do here. Uh, it’s going to be running, cycling as usual. Um, yeah, I’m really excited for it. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] So, it’s already the third day and this uh I’m just drinking my my morning coffee right now. Um, it’s been continuously 40° here like for the last 3 days. So, uh, I need to wake up really early to to go for rides. Um, today it’s going to be the hottest day of the of the week and I have 90k rides up for grabs. So, uh, yeah, let’s get to it. [Music] [Music] [Music] So, currently I’m walking in a little village called Santa Million. It’s it’s a really cute wine village. As you can see in the background, there’s this church on top uh from which you can look down on the village, but it’s really cute and there’s some really good wine from here. Yeah, it’s 40° outside, so it’s a bit too hot. Uh a bit better in the shadow, but we’re really enjoying this trip. [Music] Yeah. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Look at this. [Music] I know I haven’t been really talking to you guys a lot during this video. So, I thought I would do it right here and I’m in a beautiful city of Vilush and it’s already my last day that I’ll be here uh around the Bern Bordeaux. Um so, yeah, I’ve really had an amazing week here. I’ve had like 300k of cycling, I think, and uh a half marathon run. Yeah, it was it was actually really great here. Um the sun was insane. So, we had 40 42 43° uh in the start of the week and then during the end of the week it stayed 30. Like now it’s already 29° and it’s it’s like 10:00. Um so how do I most of the times do it on vacation? Like I’m on vacation with my with my family. Uh so it’s with friends and family. Um we always come here in the start of the of the vacation. Um because she has a house here. um a friend of us and we stay here for one or two weeks. So I’m here for one week. Um and so how do I schedule it? Like in before noon I try to wake up early like 7:00 something like that. Um the rest stays in bed until 9 9:30 I think. And I try to be on my bike at like 7:30 something like that. Um and then I go for for my ride. Sometimes it’s 2 hours, some sometimes three, a bit longer. And I try to be back when they actually eat breakfast. Um, so that’s how I schedule my rides, my runs. I can do in the evening as well, but it’s usually quite hot. And in the afternoon, we go for some trip somewhere like we visit Bordeaux or Santon like I like I showed you. Um, so yeah, it was really great here. And uh, I’ll be packing my bags tonight and going back home tomorrow. Um, so yeah, thanks for joining in on this video and I hope you guys really enjoyed it. Um, next week I have a crit race coming up that I’ll show you, take you along with. So yeah, good content coming your way. All right, thanks for watching. Bye.
