🇫🇷 3-DAY ITINERARY • Provence

☀️ Day 1: Lourmarin and Gordes

• Morning: Start your day in the charming village of Lourmarin. Wander through its narrow streets, visit the local market (if it’s market day), and explore Lourmarin Castle.
• Afternoon: Head to Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in France. Stroll through its picturesque alleys, enjoy the panoramic views, and visit the Village des Bories.
• Evening: Have dinner at L’Orangerie, savoring local Provençal cuisine.

☀️ Day 2: Les Baux-de-Provence and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

• Morning: Begin in Les Baux-de-Provence, exploring the medieval castle and wandering through the historic streets. Don’t miss the Carrières de Lumières, an immersive art experience in a former quarry.
• Afternoon: Drive to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Visit the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole Monastery, where Van Gogh stayed, and explore the ancient ruins at Glanum. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the town center, browsing the local shops and cafes.

☀️ Day 3: Lavender fields – Sault or Valensole

• Full Day: Spend the day in the lavender fields. If you visit in late July, Sault is the best place to see the fields in bloom, the last remaining ones of the season. Walk among the fragrant lavender, visit local farms, and maybe pick up some lavender products to take home. If you visit mid-June and mid-July, Valensole is the ideal destination for vibrant lavender fields.

💡TIP: If you have more days don’t miss the following locations: the Calanques, Seguret, Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole, Martigues, Cassis, Le Sentier des Ocres, Luberon, Simiane-la-Rotonde

  1. One of the most magical moments of my life was at Sault. I biked with my best friend (a friend that died a few years after) and we would park our car in beautiful Sault and then got on our way towards mnt Ventoux on our roadbicycles. Leaving Sault you go through an odor of lavender which is everywhere around you. Looking back you see the elevated town of Sault and ahead lies mighty but beautiful Ventoux. Especially the scent of the moment made it a forever memory. Years later when I rode up Ventoux again carrying a picture of my friend in my back pocket it was outside the lavender season. I chose to ride both Bedoin and Malaucene together with my younger brother. Never did I return to Sault physical.
