It’s the video you’ve been waiting for… we’re back at the brutal Salita Scanuppia in Italy, the legendary climb that could be the steepest road in the world! After Ollie tried & failed to ride up its mythical 40% slopes, we’re back with Strava’s #1 ranked climber, Andrew Feather, a.k.a. “The Twig”. Will he be able to do what Ollie couldn’t and conquer the world’s hardest cycling climb?!

[Music] I’m back at the hardest climb in the world and this time I’ve brought the world’s best climber that’s right gcn’s very own Stig SL twig and number one ranked climber on straa Andrew feather with sustained gradients over 40% this climb the Scopia in trento Italy is pure torture and if mult mulle Hill Climb Champion Andrew feather can’t make it up this then well there’s no hope for the rest of humanity top yep we are back at the Scania but for those of you who didn’t see the last video I came here and tried to ride up it and said if the video gets 10,000 likes we’d come back here with feather well you guys liked the video and so here we are back at the foot of this 7 km wall with sustained sections as steep as 40% is killer feather may be one of the best natural born Climbers on the planet but this climb is so ridiculously hard I’m not convinced he’s going to be able to make it up so before I set him off I’m so glad it’s him and not me before I set him off let me show you the special bike that he’s going to be attempting it on to ride up gradients this horrifically steep demand demands a lot of your equipment fortunately campolo and pinell have helped us out with some pretty special kit so I mean to check out this absolute stunner the primary things you need from a bike to do this are super wide tires so you have plenty of traction and grip and then also Big Easy gears the secondary things are for the bike to be stiff because you’re dealing with quite high torque loads and just as light as possible so we’ve opted for the pinell grevel F which is pinell high performance gravel uh bike it’s essentially the off-road gravel version of the Dogma F road bike it’s Aero features like the the fork flap and the special shaped tubes aren’t coming into play here today but other things are it’s got loads of Tire clearance up to 50 mil wide tires we’ve got 45s fitted also the stack height is slightly higher on this bike compared to the road frame which means you’re a bit more upright which is nice for when you’re climbing and you’ve got a slightly longer geometry which makes the bike a bit more stable with a bigger Fork rake so you’ve got more front center when you’re weaving up up the super steep parts of the of the climb having that extra front center means you’re less likely to catch the the front wheel on the front of your foot when you’re pedaling round it it really does make the bike feel much nicer we’ve paired the frame with campanola Levante Wheels which tick all the boxes of what we need here today say they’re 25 mm internal width which is ideal for our wide tire needs they sit really nice they’re tubeless as well which means we can run those tires at lower pressure which means added grip you’ve also got no Rim tape in the designs they’re just really nicely made so no Rim tape required helps keep the weight down you’ve got 24 spokes front and rear in a two cross lacing pattern which helps uh make the wheels really stiff but they’re still light just 1485 g a pair which is only a touch heavier than like the road wheels but I know what you’re here for you want to hear the free up sound check cup and conb bearings in these bad boys [Music] smooth love those cup and Cones we’ve also got campo’s EC car gravel group set on here so we can fit much easier gears than you can on a road bike so we’ve got a 38 to chain ring at the front and a 44 to uh big ring at the back which is actually considerably easier gearing than I had I had a 40 at the front and a 40 two at the back so if feather makes it up today that’s why it’s not because he’s better than me it’s cuz he had a easier gearing that’s my story and I’m sticking to it this is it we’re at the bottom feather it’s time for your date with Destiny how you feeling I think it’s going to be hard I think it is as well think you’re going to make it up I’m not sure to be honest uh we’ll give it give it our best shot brilliant right well I’ll I’ll count you in and then you can you can go okay right you ready yep um oh by the way if you do make take it to the top there some fantastic gravel Trails this will be absolutely perfect you’ll have a great time excellent yeah 3 2 one go woo oh he’s going to [Laughter] [Music] die this feels right this is not too [Music] bad cool straight into itoo for those of you who didn’t see our first video this climb is 7 km long with an average gradient of 18% however that is very deceptive there is a crazy section of 3 km which averages 22% and features pictures of 45 we’ve even measured 48 on the inside of some of the corners it really is the hardest paved climb we’ve ever come across and feather is flying although he’s no idea how ridiculous it gets around the next Corner oh my God this to it this [Music] [Music] oh this is so [Music] [Music] hard oh another happen actually this is the last happen I want to see [Music] [Music] a [Music] Jesus so hard how far [Music] nice nice traction with the tires just under 1,000 me [Music] elevation 4 39 minutes on the clock [Music] [Music] [Music] oh that was by far the hardest clim I’ve ever done that middle section was just I didn’t put my feet down but I was so close to so close to another 100 meters and I would have been off uh yeah just Relentless I mean it just went on and on and on at about 30% even more than the it’s peeking out probably I saw 44% on my Wahoo and I’ve never seen that before it’s just it was just incredibly Steep and just just Relentless and it was it was probably harder by the fact that it was just so hot today you know I certainly wouldn’t have got it got up here on on my ordinary road bike so you know I think it’s I think it’s probably time to uh to head down and see OE and let them know how we’ve done there he is oh how was that absolutely Ely Savage did you make it to top without putting your foot down I did yeah no way I did yeah no no I was really pleased it was it was absolutely Brutal by far the hardest climb I’ve ever ridden it was just Relentless all the way up it was just so steep um I’m glad you said that yeah and I don’t I you know it’s clear that with an ordinary bike I wouldn’t have been able to do it so yeah I think the gears really helped you know on on those steep bits which were around 45% on the apex of the bz it was just it was just horrible I was another 100 meters I would have I would have I think I would have uh started walking I can’t I can’t believe I mean hats off to you fair one that’s ridiculous you made me look rubbish as well but the only reason you could do it is cuz you had easier gears on than me otherwise I would have done it well there you have it feather says it’s the hardest climb he’s ever done it’s the hardest we’ve ever found but if you know something harder then let us know in the comments section cuz we we will come and we will have a go ride in it but this is definitely the hardest thing we’ve found and I’ve just checked online and um well feathers he’s only going to got the K hasn’t he of course he has but but like last time we said if we got 10,000 likes we bring feather we did that right we’re going to up the stakes if we get a 100,000 likes on this one then we’ll we’ll we’ll try and bring Dan Lloyd down get Dan Lloyd’s right he’s passed his best so he really doesn’t want to do it so we need a lot of likes but I hope you’ve enjoyed this vid thumbs up and love you bye

What other climbs would you like to see Feather take on?
1:22 Nice commercial. 🤣
I want Pogacar to do this
Where is it?
Id use my 29er hardtail drivetrains way better than being on a gravel bike.
Ive been training on many long steep hills in SC,USA.ALLOY FRAME Haro 29er.MORE EC than anyother local.
On a $8000 Bike helps too.
Why does his bike even have a saddle? Feather doesn't need it.
Encore un putain de robot.😢
What about 3×9 randonneur bike as we boomers did it with? 😮😊😂❤. Super impressive, suffering with him. Steepness unlimited. Mille grazie.
Sou fã de subidas de montanha. Show, parabéns
En río Aller Asturias es tan fuerte la pendiente que los frenos del coche se calientan y parece que el maletero se pasa para el motor
Jeeeeeeez! Well done!! 🫡
Mostruoso!!! Ma non penso di provarci 😂
Time for LLOYDY
Can pogacar pass it?? 😂
The gearing is so inappropriate
Why not get a 51 at the back and dunno a 30 at the front
RESPECT PALESTINE 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸❤️
Average climb in India
he is super human
Show !!!!
As a Math professor, I ask me: why "3k" instead of "3km"?
En colombia, bucaramanga, tenemos varias asi o mas duras 😊
"campanioello and pinariello"
Veo que tiene un Plato muy grande 😮Yo en la Patagonia Argentina en montañas con similares inclinación uso plato 26 y piñón 50/10 micro Spline!! funciona muy bien!! Saludos!!
That road is like 10km from where I live. I remember my teacher talking about the madness of that road, about tires exploding by how hot the brakes get from the steepness. Thanks to this video I realized how actually hard this road is. Incredible stuff
Dommage que la vidéo soit accompagnée d'une voix de débile….
now we wanna see downhill
Not being rude or anything, but my ordinary old 2nd hand bike has a 22/32 front/back gear. And it cost 10 times less than that thing. Anyone can get up a 40% slope with the correct gears. A professional cyclist could go up that on my bike without sweating. They could do it in their sleep on those things with over 40 on the back.
How do you get down?
He's barely breathing hard at all. I would be flat on the ground using the turbo levo.
Who was the guy in front of him?
I had no idea how strong these were! That's crazy hard
