#MTBWorldCup
Here we go. Lawrence Fier, the UCI downhill world champion. Went it on this track just a year ago. Interesting line there. Went inside and gapped over the rock that was kicking a lot of riders. Pretty creative for a simple section. Yeah, one here at UCI World Cup level as well as at UCI Worlds in the past. One of the most successful riders here on calls this place home. Lives just up the road. Four times a second back at the first flip. He’s in thought he was compatriate here and he was so close last weekend. Now he knows the speed. He knows what it takes to be up there and compete and to be here at home with commonal at the bottom of the hill. We saw their headquarters this week. He sees he knows and he’s in touch with the people that make that brand what it is. So this is a big weekend for the entire Common Cell crew. A boy as local as it gets. Loris Bier, you see the difference in ratty style between Loris and Tibo. bars is just so smooth, light on his feet. It doesn’t look like he’s going fast. Whereas you can see the aggression from Kubo’s riding. Max Commissile watching on at the bottom. We spend some time with him. 8/10 of a second. So he’s lost 4/10. Loris, a lighter rider. This is where he’ll excel through this rock garden and then the steep last structure. Yeah, he gets that trademark Vier sort of bouncy style on the bike. Threads a needle around the inside lads out in the trees. This is where Verier can get to work now on the number two bike. Still so happy that he’s part of that brand. Loris V. Really good exit speed around that left turn. Find a real home here at Common Soul. Verier. He’s faster now by 210 of a second. Here comes Loris Vier. Is this going to be enough to dethrone TB out of that hot seat? Verier has one corner to go. Loris Vier the UCI Dino world champion heads across the line of Palar and Sales by 8/10 of a second. 2 minutes 36 into the next section here. This is the key part as Martin comes in with a little bit of huckerbuck side to side. Martin’s got to carry some good speed through here. Such a casual character until he grabs a set of handlebars. A little look up there. Martin Maze such an entertainer on the bike. Great to watch. What can he do at the second split as we wait for the time wait for the inflatable split marker to arrive. Looking really, really good so far here. dancing the line between aggression and precision really nicely. Good acceleration out of that corner as well, Nico. Yeah, he carried good momentum. That’s a crucial turn. Here we go. Maze half a second fast. Tony Seagra liking what he’s seeing so far. It’s good to have that gap in the first two splits. We’ve seen what Loris has done before. We’ve mentioned it multiple times. He gets the huck over the rut. Pulls across there really nicely. Done two t of a second. He’s lost a little bit of time, but now he’s in the trees. He’s going to have to carry really good momentum across this ski piece and then commit to this bottom woods. 210 is not much margin considering how fast Loris was to the second. Martin Maz has been green the whole way down here. Is this going to finally challenge that time of Loris Vier set early in the final session Josh? Yeah, good hard exit out of that left hand. This is where Loris accelerated. Martin is carrying some great speed through the rocks. He goes low. He’s lost.1 of a second. So he’s missed out on.3 so far. Nearly two t back. Can he make it up with one quarter to go? Here comes Martin for FMD towards the line. Is this going to tumble Via? He goes second by only three t of a second. Here he comes the Irish national champion Oshino Callahan. But he’s doing really good considering how dry this track is today. Half a second a split one for Oshino Callahan. We know that there’s not a whole lot of time in that particular split, but the importance of them seems to rack up as they move further and further down the course. Josh, another rider that just has such a chilled, unassuming style on the bike. The speed that he’s carries. When you look at him at times, he looks like he’s riding quite casual, but he is charging hard. Gets a couple of pedal strokes. We’ll see if he can crack that magical 56 km an hour barrier coming down through the speed trap with this next split. Got her watching on 3/10 of a second. He’s find two t of a second do be a team manager at the minute this final session here in Palar and Sand sexy UCI downhill world cup. Oshino Kawahan currently on course for the white team. He got out of that rock garden and around the left of that tall rock better than anyone I’ve seen and carried really good speeds. It’s coming back towards him. He’s pulled back another tenth of a second. He gets the backside of the double jump into the trees. 2/10 of a second back at the third split for Oshino Callahan now as he heads into the penultimate wood section. Looking good for the young Irishman here, but he needs to turn the lights green. He’s looking really aggressive. This was the section where Loris pulled out a huge Look at the exit speed. This is aggressive. He’s anticipating what’s coming, which is a good sign. He’s still within 210 of a second here. So, if he can lace this one up, nice gap out of that rock garden. He carried good speed out of this woods. Here comes the Irishman of Shino Callahan down towards the line. What has he got for Lawrence Fier? He crosses the line and goes third fastest by three of a second. If Goldstone can get a win today, he will be he will become the first elite male to win five races in a row. Jackson Goldstone sets out on course in an attempt to make history. Well, he’s a hard rider to bet against, especially the way he’s riding right now. But this track today, I think he’s got his work cut out for him. This suits some of the other riders, some of his big biggest competition really well. But doesn’t mean that he’s out of the race. Josh Aaron Gwyn won five in one season, but not consecutively in 2011. How big a result would this be if Jackson Goldstone can get a win today? Oh, it’ be humongous. And it definitely And especially in the very terrain we’ve seen these performances over. It’s not just like one terrain is suited to him. It’s back to back to back to back on all different types. Right now, he’s slightly back in a section that we probably would assume Jackson would not excel. His creativity, the way he picks apart the technical sections is will all be in the second half of this track here today. He’s 4/10 of a second back at the first split. The man who’s wearing the green of the UCI World Cup overall points leader. Goldstone huge lead in that competition now thanks to four wins back to back to back to back. heads towards the second split through this slightly tweaked section here in Palar and Salandor. The second round 2025 UCI downhill world cup needs a nice little exit here to carry speed down. We know he’s not the biggest rider out there, Nico. So he might lose some time here. Let’s get him into the second split. Goldstone fastest by half a second. Nico Mali. Oh, he’s right where he needs to be. I was going to say if he can be within a second of Loris, he should be able to tear this bottom section apart, but he’s ahead by half a second. fifth in qualifying yesterday. What over that big rock shaking your head in disbelief. Wow. We mentioned he’s goes for the inside line in this off. See that huge gap out of the woods? That’s going to carry him through this next section with a lot more exit speed. First rider we’ve seen to pull that gap. That gap is no less than 20 ft from needle to needle. This is where we expect Jackson to excel. This is where he’s going to accelerate more and more as he gets out in town. 710 at the first split for Jackson. Goldstone. He’s using all the track. You see him all the way on the left side over that triple what took Hamry out. The whole Santa Cruz camp is close enough for getting their first ever double win last time out in the wheel. Look at him floating through some of these bumps. The entrance here is speed that we haven’t seen since exit. That was a great exit. This is where it kills this land maintenance and Pandora. He needs to find an answer for Jackson Goldstone. The big red S of Superman not specialized on top of his helmet. No Rooney leaves the start hut and gets to work here in Palar and Salandor. Look how calm he is. He’s whooped out. 120 to 130 in the start gate. This man means business. Super Brun was Superman launching this weekend. What a moment. Bike squirming around underneath him slightly through those corners. Nico. Yeah. pushing the insides of the turns, trying to avoid some of those breaking holes. Just a little bit looser there, but he looks like he’s really composed even though he’s hitting those gnarly lines. Look at the composure. Beautiful across there. Brun heads towards the first split. What is it going to tell us about how this is going so far? Brun this fight. 1.2 seconds. Look on a run here in Palar and Salandor. The calm, the composure, and the speed of the champion coming down the first split. 1.2. He’s going to need it. That left hand and that will have got Jackson Goldstone’s attention at the bottom of the track. Brun heading towards split two. What’s it going to tell us? Absolutely sensational through the top split. Brun is building a margin here. We have seen Palazari and a couple of other riders go bananas up top. Can Brun enough of a buffer now? We saw a very similar run from him last year at the World Championships was up by almost 2 seconds going into this third split. 165 beats per minute on the whoop life as he heads down towards the second split. All eyes on the top left hand side of your screen. Bruny 1.4 seconds. Josh, he’s found another two10. He’s building. He needs this at the top. We heard Jackson had to just deal with the consequence in the first half to feed it down the bottom. This looks like the Brun of Brun is charging here today and leveraging every single ounce of the champion that he is. Look at the speed through the key section. The speed under the drone is obvious and absolutely flying. Life got a win in BC to start the year. Heads down into the open cross. There’s no split. It’s 1.3 seconds. He’s lost attempt now. He won the first of five UCI world titles here back in 2015 beating Greg Manar and Josh Braceland that day. Here comes Lloyd Brun. That the old track in Balord of course very very different to this. 168 beats per minute. Jackson and Loris were very fast through this fourth sector, but I think Booy has enough time to play with here and I think he can get to the finish even with that 1.3 margin. He’s got a charge. He’s going to attack the entrance into the rock garden here. 1 seconds at split for Brunes across the rocks heads down. The final shoot will into the open and that’s going to be Lo Brun second. Looney is he going to break Jes crosses line and go fastest in par. What a run from Lloyd. Brady back to his very very best.
