in between hot spots like Sanrope Monaco and K lies some of the most impressive hiking trails in all of France welcome to Planet Lens where today I’m going to break down the top five hikes that are easily as impressive as the ridiculous luxury wonderland of the French Riviera let’s get into it coming in at number five is the Ted Ducha at Luri which is by far the easiest hike on this list the effort required to get to this viewpoint is super minimal yet the viewpoint here is arguably one of the best in the entire French Riviera it gets on this list at number five because let’s be honest where else can you go see an entire country without having to go to outer space from the Monte Carlo Casino to the Princess Palace this is easily one of the best views of Monaco you can get without taking a helicopter if you look closely just by the port in the top right of this shot here you can see the blue grand stands and track have already been set up so you could even watch the F1 Monte Carlo race from up here this is a viewpoint that fits in nicely with a visit to Monaco or EZ as it sits right in between the two on one of the most scenic roads in the country there’s not much more that I can say that this shot doesn’t easily number five and much more impressive in real life like always guys all the info to these hikes can be found in the description below and if you’ve got any questions you prefer asking a real human instead of AI don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments at number four we’ve got one we looked forward to doing for years and that is the heart of the island hike which follows the perimeter of the island of Porol you can only access this hike by boat which gives this trail a completely different character than any of the others on this list if you’re lucky enough to have your own you can anchor in sheltered bays on the south side of the island and there is also a ferry service that runs trips from Pierre daily taking only about 20 minutes to reach the [Music] island with only a few utility vehicles on the island the main draw here is that you don’t feel like you’re in the French Riviera at all rather more like you’re on a remote island in the Mediterranean Sea the island is super popular for renting mountain bikes and visiting the south side of the island that’s why this hike is much better in our opinion because a you’re going to save a solid chunk of money and b the most beautiful viewpoints can only be accessed by foot this trail combines the very best of a relatively simple sawtooth pattern with epic viewpoints and also some very very beautiful swimming locations that are scattered throughout the entirety of this trail the small village of Poke where the boat drops you off has plenty of spots to buy lunch ice cream and souvenirs but if you want a more peaceful day spend your time sparingly here and bring everything you need with you especially water this was all filmed over the Easter holidays and it was already pretty busy even though there were fewer boats running so planning your trip here on the edges of summer peak season is going to be much more enjoyable also this area can get tremendously hot in summer but you’re not required to do the entire 23 km trail when it’s 35° outside there are plenty of shortcuts that lead you back to town that you can see in the top of this shot here onto the podium and in the bronze medal position we’ve got the pent shavalier at the presens although this is very close geographically to pocarol it definitely has some features that make it just a little bit more attractive first of all is that compared to pocarol it’s much cheaper as there is no need to buy a ferry ticket this also means you’re not a slave to the ferry company’s schedule that can often get complicated when everybody tries to leave the island at the same time the hike here has a similar vibe to the islands to the east as this corner of the peninsula has not been developed the viewpoints here are a little bit higher than the hike at number four and although size sometimes doesn’t matter this time it does what I love about the west side of this hike are the tunnel formations made by the small trees protecting you from the wind and then allowing you to pop out of this cool little tunnel onto a viewpoint dangling above the Mediterranean Sea the topography here is absolutely legendary and although there are few steep points this hike itself is relatively easy for your once in a while hiker or less confident around heights hiker you can always shorten the trail by sticking to the southside that has beautiful views of the hills in between Tulong and Y this hike pairs beautifully with afternoon water sports and going to check out the neighboring pink flamingos earning number two on this list is the emerald gem of the Riviera and that is the hike at Lewakalon Dasi not only does this hike give you the best stereotypical Mediterranean turquoise views it’s an easy hike that is jam-packed with viewpoints and swim spots that almost everyone can do this in turn means it gets busy it’s number two for a reason so get your butt here early if you want to enjoy it at its best you are not going to be happy with yourself if you rock up at 12:30 and there is nowhere to sit down on one of the beautiful viewpoints or any space left to put your things down to go swimming there are three kon to explore here and in my opinion it’s just like this video the best comes last and that is the Kon Donvo the hike starts by bringing you through the first two that you can see in this shot here leading you to a fjord that is unparalleled anywhere else in France the light is best in the morning as the bay faces to the east and there are some very cool spots to have a picnic break to really soak in these views it is well worth planning your day to spend some time up here as way too many people just buzz by taking a few photos and likely don’t realize until years later how special this bay really is at the end of the day these three impressive fiors are far to be the biggest in the world but it’s the way the colors mix together with the Mediterranean sunshine that put them in a league of their own an easy hike with very few kilometers to do so she is well worthy of placing number two on this list of the best hikes in the French Riviera and when you see these images from above it’s super easy to see why number one the champion on this list and that is the Capru at the Massie [Music] Desterel this hike doesn’t just rank number one because it is stunningly beautiful it gets number one also because it is remarkably unique red rocks like in western North America dropping into the Mediterranean Sea is not how most people imagine the French Riviera and that’s what adds to their jaw-dropping [Music] quality it’s a semi difficult hike and I say that because it really depends on your physical condition and where you start from i highly recommend getting the full experience by starting down at sea level but it is also possible to take a shortcut and park a little bit higher up on the mountain on the backside to the north these peaks are dry and arid facing the sometimes punishing southern sunshine yet are still full of life and surrounded by some of the most impressive cork trees in all of Europe this trail will bring you up the southern face of the mountain where it is non-stop views of these iconic red peaks and sunshine reflecting off the Mediterranean Sea make sure you bring lots of water because there is none up here and there is nowhere for you to buy anything on the best of days especially during springtime you can see the white cap mountains of the French Alps and occasionally get to see the mega monster yachts of the region in full action the massive destreel is super close to Nissan K and also not very far from Centrope and Seaxim making it a fantastic spot for day trips regardless of how you decide to tackle this Riviera legend these red rocks are going to stay with you for the rest of your life because the views up here in my opinion are the best in the Riviera because this coastline is unlike anything else in the Mediterranean let alone France even just the drive down this iconic stretch of coastline is well worth the visit let alone going and standing on top of the crown jewel of this list of top five hikes in the French Riviera we hope you like this video let us know down in the comments below where you want to see us hike next and always remember guys adventures don’t happen at home like just look at the detail in the quality of that map it is like 10% better than Grand Theft Auto 6 if you go for a swim at the end of the hike keep your eye out for this Easter egg mr tierry’s ice cream and rosé boat that comes directly to the beach doesn’t get much better than that
