central stage and 4500 meters of climbing was on the menu for the riders on Bastil day. It’s an extra stage before the first rest day. Normally there’s nine stages before a rest day. None of the climbs are particularly scary like a pua dome but they’re just it’s climbing all day. So it was likely to be a breakaway stage. Julian Alfie gets a bit too excited. He jumps before the first main wall where the break already half forms. How many pink jerseys do you see here? I see five. So maybe I should go to an optometrist. But EF they were attentive and Harry Sweeney ripped this gap open because Ben Healey was in there. Vizmarat was camping out. Civikov was sick and dropped and Wells was controlling for UAE whilst attacks from JCO from the French riders were flying all over the place. UAE come up here to block. They’re kind of happy with this breakaway. They got three on the front. They’re sort of blocking and then the tudtor rider slips through and it starts again. So Ben O Connor, Lenny Martinez, the break went easier than I thought. The last counter moves coming was Simon Phillip Yates. He jumps with Neielson Palace or Boda in his wheel. Uh Johannes unders that is comes across. Wellins is trying to mark it and he just can’t do it on this uphill drag. So Simon Yates gets across to Schmidt. Wellins tries to shut it down but then eventually they have to let the gap out to 30 seconds. And so Removal has helpers in here. He’s got VPP. He’s got an env. But it’s really EF Education Easy Post. It’s they are the team most represented in this break. They got the rider uh best placed on GC, Ben Healey on 3 minutes 55 and they’ve got firepower. Yeah, as I said, powerless Bod Sweeney. So, a big shift in uh store for Neil’s Polllet and Tim Wells controlling this stage and they have this gap pegged. It was a battle for quite a while in the middle when I had a siesta. Well looked like he tried to bring the gap down. It did go down from 355 which seemingly that’s where they tried to peg it. So maybe they were trying to go for the stage, but in the end EF won out and that UAE have to relent. Eventually Fuga de Fuga action begins in the breakaway. Healey first he’s marked by Ben Oconor. Then Victor Campon goes over one of these climbs. There’s like eight categorized climbs today and then about another eight hard ones that weren’t categorized. And you know any of these Fugas could have gone. Look at this. Lenny’s flicking Aaron. If Arsman decides not to relay immediately or pull behind Simmons and Healey on this fast pedaling descent, they’re gone. They were the two strongest break riders in week one. The both of them stage six are mega strong. Okconor’s frustrated with Blackmore for not pulling. Simmons tries to anticipate, but unfortunately for him, Ben Healey just goes into choo choo mode whilst Vizma Lisa bike increase the pace. Tesh Bernote begins pacing with Seep Cusin will mark he just drops the wheel. He’s like, I don’t need to follow you. Neither of you are on GC. Pagatch is a little bit deeper in the group. And so the gap, well, it’s about to open, but only attacks across to it, which is maybe not the wisest because then Arca B&B Hotel start pacing behind him to protect Vocal GC while Seus is saying, well, I’m g no man’s land. What should I do? And Arca pace it back. UAE haven’t had to do anything yet. Only gets joined by Lipovitz and Jordan. And then Adam Yates with the still upper body starts to control. But Jorgensson attacks Pagata in the wheel. Roglish marking it. Floren Lipovit sees Rogich going up the road. So of course he starts to mark that. And UA trying to control and doing a pretty good job of it. Navvice returns. He starts pacing. They got Yates and Navi. But then Cous goes. They drop the wheel. They’re like, well, we don’t need to mark Cous again. Adam Yates getting on the radio. Navvice is saying, I’ll just pace behind him. But we’re not in the high mountains here. It’s up and down rolling terrain. and the draft really matters. So, UA just content to pace, but then Jorgensson attacks again. Navvice can’t respond. And on this sort of cross headwind section, a lot of crosswind here. Yates has to put in a big shift chasing Jorgensson who’s pedalling in the draft behind Cousing all out. It reduces the group just to Paga, Vingard, and Aanipool. That stops. Forget about the GC action for a while. Celeb paces. Ben Healey just he’s pacing all out for the yellow jersey. He’s got to finish with over 355 advantage on the Pagata group. It’s horrible exposed terrain up here and Jorgensson attacks again. Pagata responds comfortably. He’s not under much pressure here. Cous returns. He starts to set a tempo before Jorgensson attacks again. Finger opens the door nicely for Paga. But on this attack, Navas and Yates are dropped. So all the other GC guys there, Lipovitz, Gaul, Rogich, uh maybe not Rodriguez, he’s in this group with Navi and Yates. So the UA Domestics aren’t there, they’re dropped. And just ahead, Jorgensson gets across to Camponauts who was in the early days breakaway also keeping it together for Simon Yates. And now Campernauts can begin pacing on the Descent Full Gas. I think a few splits opened. It wasn’t shown on the main broadcast. It was on multiscreen, but all the main GC contenders together until the main climb. Back to the breakaway. Simon Yates uses that tricky descent, the last corner to attack, drops Healey, catches Aaronman and Okconor by surprise, and Okconor cracks himself getting back to Simon Philip Yates. And by the time he gets there, he’s pretty much done. And Yates sees Aaron coming across. So he’s like, “Okay, Okconor, he’s on the limit. He’s also relaying. I’ll sit in rest for about 15 20 seconds.” Aaron’s been before as he’s getting there, as he mentally thinks, I’ve just bridged across. hit him again. Gates gets a gap. It sits at like five seconds. Azen was really, really strong on this climb. I think if he anticipated or got away, he would have been almost impossible to beat on the earlier terrain, but Simon Yates takes the stage win after winning Jirealia GC earlier in the year. Back to the GC group. Camponauts paces the beginning of the climb that stops Navias coming back who started to sprint for Pagatcha. And then a somewhat unusual situation begins because normally Pagatcha and UA are so strong as a team. They’re the best team in the world wins wins-wise. They’ve always got riders in this situation at the bottom of a final climb helping Pagatcha. But Renco’s attacking. He doesn’t respond. Now Pagata, we haven’t seen this I think for number of years. He’s having to pace himself respond to Livit. So he decides attack is the best form of defense. Drops the hammer. Is he going to gap Vingard? He’s got the first acceleration. gets back up to speed and then tries to get over another gear again. That’s probably sprinting at like 40ks an hour uphill. Attacks again. Looks like Vingard’s gone. He pulls out, but he’s able. They cut to store actually on the live broadcast, so you didn’t really see Vingard close it. But anyway, Vingard closes it. Those two don’t relay with each other. Lenny Martinez comes back for glory. He paces the two and so there’s no further hostilities whilst Lipitz and Jorgensson take three seconds from Renco only and Roglitch. Simon Yates wins the stage ahead of Arsman. Healey takes the yellow jersey on 31 seconds. Okconor on 49 seconds. Store Blackmore, Johannes Martinez, Pagachi Vingard. Here’s what Sates had to say after the race. Actually, I didn’t even feel that didn’t feel that good out there. It was a really hard start to be there and a lot of strong guys. Um, and actually that’s why I took advantage into the final corners before the at the bottom of the descent before uh before the climb started cuz I was looking for a bit of a head start. So, uh, no, no, I just did my best from that really. But as I said, Ben Hilly was rewarded for his perseverance in the break where he won a stage this week and now he’s taken the yellow jersey by 29 seconds ahead of Pagata. Very small gaps between the others except Mosa Falls out of the top 10. He lost a lot of time today. Hope you enjoyed the video. Check out Pillar Performance through the link down below and see you with the stage 11 recap on Wednesday. Ciao.

Nundah Dome / Muzz Specialist is legendary
Visma really wants Pogi in yellow
Is Vinegaard gay? He's always want to be beside Pogacar ❤
I cant wait until his doping is exposed
Did Healy thank Pogi again, this time for letting him borrow the yellow jersey?
Jonas should've attacked in the final 200m, he was way too conservative in the end
Harry Sweeny Nundahdome / Muzz specialist 😂👏👏👏
Jonas absolute clown..hiding behind someone's wheel like alywas. How can you ever compare him to the GOAT!!
Nobody wanna talk about Simon Yates being better than the first 20 days in the giro? he's gonna strom back toward the top 10
They all have that fatigue look
vingergard constantly brown nosing tadej ! how annoying !?
Very good tactics from Visma isolating TPog from his UAE Team mates. It's always a delight to see BHealy doing BHealy things
When Sepp flicked Oscar Onley through and Onley kind of looked around so confused like "what are we doing? how did I end up here?" I lost it 🤣 Also, Pogacar chasing down all the Jorgenson attacks, then no one batting an eye for the Remco attack. Great stuff 🤣
Let's GO EF!!! That's how you get your man into yellow! Take it to the big boys!
bro your title is starting to get clickbaityy…
Really happy for Ben Healy; a stage win and the yellow jersey in the first week
Ben Healy showed Pogi and everyone how’s it done 😊
Great recap!
Can someone let me know how did simon yates bridge to ben healy? Thanks
What attack
ANNOYED Tadej Pogacar Shows Vingegaard a REAL ATTACK
???????
It seems to me Vingegaard was ready for the attack…and matched it.
I reckon it was a Draw
The dope race
Simon Yates win the stage without doing any pulls!
ANNOYED Tadej Pogacar Shows Vingegaard a REAL ATTACK? And Vingegaard shows Pogacar how easily he can stay on his rear wheel
Tadej – LET MATTEO GO!!! WHO cares!!!! There’s no way Visma are going to support Matteo.
what REAL ATTACK?
of course Vingo isn't going to relay. he's gonna lose this tour because he's a weak wheel sucker.
Loved the Harry Sweeney caption referencing Nundah & Muzz.
1:42 shout out to the Muzz warriors in the chat
Adam Yates is silent for now.
You're missing those flies during your podcast….
EF really going strong with Healy and Carapaz as GC contenders – what a time to be alive!
These pogacar coments and behavior reminds me armstrong, they behave like bullies
The way the names of the riders slowly emerge onto the screen is annoying. Do things quickly and simply instead.
I often wonder about the headlines to these recaps. There are several stories for this stage. Yates winning the stage, Headly in yellow should be the main ones. Why is Poggi ATTACKS chosen when Jonas follows so easily and all this other stuff is more relevant for the stage?
All respect in the world for Healy.
But that attack from Pog in the end looked kinda desperate, it's going to be interesting what happens in the mountains.
Im more worried about Remco. that's the 2nd time in a row he's been dropped when jonas and pog got somewhat serious
Lippowitz looks better than Roglic and Remco for 3rd in GC.
Sivakov sick, Almeida retired from tour, this is going to be a tougher ask for UAE.
Now 3 ads before start ? Get lost
remco isnt capable of following, so why is he wasting energy attacking
I think there's a mistake on Baudin's team tag around 2'
A real attack? If Pogy had the advantage he had a month ago, he would have put 30 seconds into JV today. “But he doesn’t have to” you say? That’s not how Pogy races, especially not agitated Pogy, who we’ve seen repatedly in post-race interviews.
Choo Choo mode 🤣
I don't understand how so many people, even professional commentators, miss the fact that Vingegaard was looking behind him when Pogi sped up a 2nd time, and by looking behind him, his bike swept to the left (right on screen) and he lost a meter or 2. That wasn't a gap because Pogi attacked him out of the wheel. That's just Vingegaard's clumsy side. Look at him whenever he looks behind him, he always makes a strange side sweeping move like that. Saying it happens because Pogi is "too strong" is so very misguided. Pogi definitely isn't as strong as other years, nor even as strong as he was in the dauphiné. Visma's tactic to tire him out is clearly having some effect. It's Pogi who is making rookie mistakes by always trying to follow along. He keeps reacting to everything, rather than let his teammates close the gap. It's Pogi who's throwing away his energy, and if that annoys him, he should race more intelligently 🤷♂ they literally have done this to him before. Vingegaard learned from his mistakes of giving Pogi a single meter, now he jumps on the wheel, immediately, and stays there.
Pogi is showing no signs of learning anything. He literally still goes by on his talent alone.
One day, that's not gonna be enough. As it has been proven in the past, multiple times, by many different young talented riders, even Pogi himself. And still he hasn't learned anything from it and keeps racing in the exact same way in every single race.
He makes himself predictable.
I don't think Pogi is winning the Tour this year.
seems Visma put in lot of effort to do absolutely nothing in the GC. sure, they got a stage win, which was impressive from S. Yates, but UAE and Pog were just chilling all day. and his "attack" was just toying with Jonas. took more time out of Remco though.
Why does Pogi/UAE have to follow every attack by Jorgensen? He won't be a threat in terms of GC when they get to the mountains. Do they not want someone from Visma in yellow in general?
