Hey guys, welcome to IRA channel. My name is Ole and today we’re going to review this new electric bicycle from I know hot. I know hot. Uh and the model is Terra. This brand told me it’s from um they’re more popular in Japan. So the name it sounds like I know hot. So more like Japanese name. Uh they’re new to USA market and the bike actually built very well looks like. But again some specification of this bike is more like budget bicycles but the the way it’s built it’s pretty good. I like the frame. I like everything about the bike other than some other parts I’m going to mention in the video later. So the first let’s go over some uh size. Again, this is a step through. It come in black color so far. Looks like um it has a seat which can go as low as uh 33 inches down and as high as like 4 in high. So, somebody who’s shorter, probably 53 can fit the bike and somebody who is probably 6’2, 63 can fit the bike as well. The handlebar is about 43 in from the ground. There’s enough cable to increase the height if you put adjustable stem. I think on the website they say is this bike good for someone who is 5’4 to 5’11 and I’m 5’11 ft tall. So let’s test it out. So this is my riding position which actually pretty good. Okay. Um there is a lot of space to go up. Let me show you. So there is this way it’s too high going to be for 511. So I think somebody who is 62 63 can easily fit the bike as well. Again I understand they’re coming from another market but based on USA market this bike can handle somebody who is taller. Uh the bike maximum weight capacity 330 lb. Uh, I’m not sure how much the bike weigh exactly, but based on my weight experience, uh, it’s about 65, maybe 68 lb. So, it’s not as heavy since there’s no fenders and no rock. Uh, there’s options to attach the rock and the fenders. But at this time, they told me they are out of stock, so I will not have the fenders or rock. So, I’m going to demonstrate the bike as is. This uh listed as a 26 mountain bicycle. So it’s basically fat eye bicycle. You can ride off road or in the city. So it does come with concealed battery. The battery is 48 volt 13 amp. So it’s not the largest but it’s not the smallest. It’s just way basically good for someone who wants to ride uh between I would say 13 miles to probably 45 to 50 miles with good pedaling. This bike comes with a caden sensor. So you will not really sweat as much because with cen sensor you basically just turn the pedals and the motor will activate and the pedal assist will kick in. Uh what the website listed is that is 20 miles per hour bike. So, it’s probably class two. I’m going to test it out today in this video so you can know more about this bike and see what the top speed we can get on throttle only and pedal assist. So, this bike come with very nice tires. Let’s get closer so you can see it and you can make better decision after this video if this bike will fit you. So again, let’s get closer so you can see everything about this bike. This bike is step through. That’s the only model they have a step through model and I like step through so it’s easy on and off regardless of your age and gender. So it does come with a quick release on the front wheel so it’s easy to remove it. Also, it come with a very nice tires by uh I guess I never saw this type of tires on other bicycle. And it says 50 TPI. So, there’s more thread casting and echo compound. So, high grip. So, they are actually looking pretty good. I think um 30 PSI maximum they’re probably better puncture resistance. So, it should be really nice tires. Usually like uh other brand come with 20 TPI so 50 it’s very good for this type of bicycle. It come with reflector light. The terra come with a steel fork which also comes with adjustment as locking mechanism and preload adjustment which is good for budget bicycle. To turn on headlight you just push the plus sign on the display and you see the headlight you move together with the fork. So it gave you some um brightness but uh it’s not super bright. is pretty small. You can always upgrade with a larger one. Uh rechargeable. And here’s how the fork works. I don’t see a lot of movement. Probably about 40 mm travel so far. But yeah, like about 40 mm, maybe 60 going to be. But uh I do need to adjust it probably more for preload adjustment over here on the left side. And let’s see if it’s okay. It’s got a bit soft. So, the fork works just fine for this type of budget bike. And again, if you want to have it rigged, you just move this locking mechanism and will be locked. The frame itself, uh, pretty good reinforced as you can see, welding pretty nice and clean. It does come with options to attach the bottle on the top. And I like the way the the battery is inside. It’s basically underneath. So, it’s a concealed battery, but it’s not as large. But the same way it will make it lighter weight. So as you can see the front chain link is not as large but it’s probably good for 20 mph. Uh I know hot bicycle come with a turnish mana derailer guard for derailer and sevensp speeded casset. The motor doesn’t have any branding but I can see it says 48 volt 750 watt. So it should be a pretty powerful motor. Uh it’s a aluminum um rim and also the spokes looks like blackout. So it does come with only 160 mm disc brakes on the rear which is mechanical by yak super brake. I’m not sure how super they are but we’re going to test it out. And the same 160 mm disc brakes on the front. So it’s basically pulling the cable. So it’s mechanical. The basic brakes on the market you can find as budget bicycles. The battery have a key to open up to remove it. And also underneath the security options trigger you need to open and it can be charged on the bike or over the bike. If you decide to charge on the bike there’s a plug over here. So you open up and charge it on the bike or you can remove it and charge at your convenience location. The seat surprisingly not bad at all. It’s pretty soft and looks like comfortable seat. The handlebar is 28 in wide which is good for riding offroad or in the city because it give you better stability as well. Uh the grips you can see the same grips probably on many other bicycles. So it’s a actually pretty nice rubber with some rest on it. It come with kind of manual bell uh display. Uh I’ll show you how to use it. basically just push the M button and it will turn on. I’m on straight bright head like like sunrise sunlight right now and you can see very clear. So the display is perfect. It’s good. Uh when you push on M, you’re going to see a lot of information like voltage, current, uh RM, I’m not sure, like adometer, trip, and let’s see if the current actually works because sometimes it might not work. and okay so looks like it’s not and then pedal assist to switch pedal assist levels basically you’re going to see the bars there’s no numbers and um so this five pedal assist level and when you have no bars at all the throttle shouldn’t work at all so let’s go to pedal assist level five I guess and use a throttle it come with half throttle over here and seven speedo shifter So let’s see how fast on throttle only it can go. So it looks like 20 miles an hour. And actually the current does work since there’s no resistance. The current show almost zero. So we’re going to go on the straight and see how powerful the motor is based on the current. We can calculate some voltage as well. But so far it’s pretty nice um setup for basic uh riding like experience. It’s uh everything what you need like solid grips bell display very clear to write on the sun comfortable also some riser like this handlebar is not flat is with some riser so you can move a little bit close to you or further if you’re taller and uh half throttle pretty good I know this bike is kind of in budget category which actually comes with a very nice frame which is also aluminum so this bike kind of in between I would say between uh budget at the same time more premium build because uh the tires the way it’s um actually looking good. Uh the only things is missing like fenders and the rock if you need one. But the price is looks like pretty good on this bike under $1,000 right now. Does not come with a tail light. So there’s no tail light. They did include some reflector lights, but that’s about it. You can always get a rechargeable one if you want to and ride at night. I know hot terra came with a charger which is 2 amp charger. It will takes you about um 6 and 1 half hours to charge from zero to 100%. But usually do not let the battery uh go to zero. So always charge the battery either after each use or when you have less than 50%. again uh this is uh I know hot terra and now we know basically everything about this bike other than riding experience. So let’s go for a ride and see how this bike perform on the street. So now we’re going to test it out for speed also to see how comfortable to pedal this bike with pedal assist and without pedal assist. And I will still take it for the hill to see how good this bike can climb the hill on throttle only. Even it’s 20 mph on throttle, it still should be able to uh go like uphill on throttle only. So let’s go and see actually how much current they produce. So far 14 miles 16 18. So it’s only produced like 8.6 six like nine current nine current so it’s kind of so going 20 mph that’s it so it does going only 20 mph and I’m on gear number let’s see shifting seven and see if I get any pedal assist I’m going to turn around Now I’m just turning my pedals. Uh it does not really feels like there’s pedal assist. Let’s see if it’s Looks like pedal assist not working. Oh wow. Wait, pedal assist is not working. [Music] Let’s try again. Honestly, I didn’t test the bike before I start to ride it. Oh, no. There’s no current. So, basically is a problem with the current sensor. No, now I can feel it. Parasel one, but I don’t feel any paralysis on level two. There’s no current movement. So basically this kind of very weird. Maybe it does come with torque sensor. Let me check again because I thought this uh come with cotton sensor. So I’m going to turn off to zero just in case. No, it does come with a centon sensor. Canton sensor is a plastic right there. If you can see over here, plastic. So this is a cen sensor. The torque sensor is usually um metal inside hidden, but let’s see if it will work. Oh, so it just kick in. That’s weird. [Music] So kind of really strange. Let’s see. Oh, then I need to really pedal it. Actually, I can feel a current pick up. Let’s see how fast I can go. But I know that’s kind of really strange. Very strange. And the throttle is not working. Wait a second. Oh, throttle working now. I see the power on the side. So, it does not show me how much power it got. But when I do pedal assist, uh I think something wrong with the bike. So maybe looks like uh let’s see in settings. The problem that when you’re going in settings looks like everything locked here. You can only switch brightness. You can switch miles to kilometers. Voltage you cannot really switch. Give me vol and then you can switch. Let’s see pedal assist levels. Can you switch? No, you cannot see. Yeah, it’s everything locked in even. Yeah, everything only light and kilometers you can switch. That’s it. So you cannot really you cannot really do anything. So, let’s see if I can go from belly level one. It’s not really kicking. I don’t see any power. So, I’m going to use a throttle and let’s see how fast throttle on the pedal assist level one can go. [Music] So, looks like the throttle is attached to pedal assist levels. So, I’m going to do the test for the brakes. Since it’s u only 20 m an hour, I’m going to probably break by the car. It cannot go more than 20 miles an hour. That’s sad. And going to stop now. It’s stopping but nothing like um if it’s go faster I would not say they’re good because the bike and you are like me heavy so of course I would like to have better brakes the headlight it’s um it’s not really it’s almost unset but you cannot really see it guys the good news um the censor start to work. So, it’s kind of working, but up to 20 m only. So, I’m not sure if it’s connection, but you do need to pedal up to 20 miles. If you start to slow, let’s slow down. If I go from slow right now, like 40. And the display and uh GPS very accurate. So, I don’t need GPS anymore. So yeah, I can feel it’s working. Yeah, it’s working now. So I guess uh something was I just restart the bike and it working fine now. Pedal assist start working again. So I decide to test it out. So I’m going to go with pedal assist one. Very slow. The brakes a bit clicking but it’s okay. And start to pedal. So the pedal assist level one will get you up to 6 months now. Then it will cut off actually five. The two it will take you up to looks like nine miles now [Music] and three. I’m not sure if it’s even working now again because Okay, now so basically I need to spin the pedals very good in order to work. I think it’s something to do with settings. So, it’s about 30 mph and four, let’s see, four, uh, it’s 15 miles, 16 and then five. It will take you up to the let’s see, you do need to Okay, now I feel like power and I’m going to break here on stop sign. Okay. So, it does work now, but it’s not like I used to like I guess this is something people will like it probably if you’re new. It’s probably good for someone who is very new to electric bicycle. You want easy like transition like without any like instant kick. So, it’s very smooth. Even on the pedis all five, it will not knock you off from the bike. You just start to pedal slowly. But yeah, I feel like acceleration, you see. But if I start to pedal on gear number seven, there will be not really acceleration. So it’s like kind of strange. It’s more like torque sensor sign. So right now pedal not that fast. It just go up to 12 miles now. So again, it’s kind of not bad, but I noticed it’s not bad pedaling, actually. But again, only 20 m an hour, it’s good for exercise. Uh 20 m is pretty fast. Uh and also in California, anything above 20 cannot have a throttle. So I guess it’s not actually bad for some people. I know a lot of people wants to have slow bike. So that’s a perfect bike for you guys whoever comment before. uh if they want something legal, street legal, this bike probably going to be perfect for you. So, let’s go to the uh steep hill and see if this bike can climb to the hill on throttle only. Okay, so this is a perfect straight leg bike now the hill here. So, I still have 51 volt actually it’s reset. So, it’s a little bit sagging on the voltage because the battery is not the large. But let’s go and see if this bike can handle the hill and if it can climb the hill. I’m on pelis level five. That’s the highest level. Um 750 W motor usually can climb this hill with a speed between 4 miles to 8 miles an hour. Again uh not necessarily this bike will make it because depend on the controller and settings. So if it will not make it so probably the controller very small and the current only like 7.3. So it’s produced like very a little uh power. I think it’s is a restricted or very small controller but I’m still going like four miles an hour. I’ll try to balance it to see if it will make it uphill or not. That’s uh three miles an hour. And if the motor will completely die, of course, I’m going to stop and I can retest it with pedals to see if I can pedal uphill. But so far, going very slowly, 3 miles an hour, which is not bad. So, most likely just the system sets the way. So, you cannot really two miles an hour, but motor still going up. I cannot hear any extra noise like some so it’s kind of motor restriction but it’s actually climbing. It’s already past the territory where they usually motors would shut down with most bicycles. So again 2 months now going in uphill. Uh yeah it’s kind of almost made it. So, let’s try if I can uh use the pedals. Okay. Okay. So, now we’re going to test I will not really like I’ll stop. I’m going to let the car go. So, I’m going to test out now with pedaling to see if I can uh pedal uphill. I know this kind of controller and I’m on pel five and gear number two. So far, it’s not bad going about 50 miles an hour. So it’s this is the steepest hill. I did a lot of bicycle review on this hill. Uh 26×4 motor like not not all of them actually making I noticed most premium bicycle cannot make uphill because they have a restriction to the motor and they are good bicycles but they get they don’t want the company doesn’t want you to get overheated. But I’m going actually pretty good with just a little bit assist eight miles now. Actually, not bad at all. So, this bike can be taken out off-road riding in hill if you want to. I do not really push the pedal much, but just give you a little bit assist and it’s going about 8 mph. So, it produce actually more current when I do pedal assist. So, it’s protect your motor and controller. I guess that’s understandable, but the brakes start to smell burning after I went downhill. So, let me show you how it’s pedaling. So, I’m going to put to zero pedal assist level and just pedal it. Going to slow down and throttle will not work because it’s in off position at zero. So now I’m pedaling about six, seven miles an hour in gear number three. This bike is okay to pedal uh as a fat tire. You’re going to get the same probably pedaling experience as you buy pedal fat tire bicycles. I know like fat tire bicycle will cost you like about $600 with all this. So you’re getting like pretty decent price I would say as electric bicycle for under $1,000. And um what I can tell you for sure that if you use throttle pedal assist I mean pedal assist level five all the way to the top speed 20 mph actually uh you’ll never get ghost pedaling on this bike even on gear six because it does not go any over 20 mph. Let’s talk about the Ano hot I know hot electric bicycle terra. Uh I like how it looks. It looks really like tough and looks like really good looking bike. Um it’s a perfect bike going to be for people who comments before they want street legal and slow bike. So this is going to be guys for you. I know like I review any bicycles and this is a perfect bike for you going to be it’s going legal street legal 20 miles an hour with a throttle and pedals so you cannot complain anymore it’s comfortable actually the seat is comfortable to ride the headlight it’s not really bright you can see barely and if you look it’s already kind of getting dark you cannot really see anything it does not have tail light much but I do have hamlet which hamlet I use. So it does come with a three modes on the back. Okay. So that’s kind of helped me and also headlight. So it gave me more visibility to ride. Uh I use this all the time actually. So great helmet and if you buy this I know hot I know hot bike I recommend to get one of the helmet or you can buy uh basically rechargeable this is like um tail light and extra headlight. This bike it’s under $1,000 aluminum frame very decent size battery. It’s 13 amp, so it’s not really as small, not as large. Based on the 20 mph, and you have to pedal it if you decide to pedal, this battery will last you like probably 30, maybe 40 miles. Okay, that’s what I think probably most likely. Um, the fork, it’s a little bit stiff, but it’s not bad. You can adjust it. I didn’t really bother to adjust much. I can see like 40 mm travel. They might tell more, but what I see based on the I didn’t really do any jumps. It’s like just on the levels, it’s pretty decent, nice bicycle, affordable. I think it’s a great bicycle for someone who looking for as a first bike, not fast uh riding like on street uh riding uh off road like uh on the fire lanes. It’s great. I like the tires. The tires actually really nice. Uh, I like the tires and also not only looking good, it’s it is very good looking bike. I think under $1,000 aluminum frame and it feels lighter. It feels like 65 maybe 68 lbs. I don’t know. I didn’t weight it. But it is light. Nothing extra. So, you don’t get anything like extra stuff like um uh rack or fenders, but they told me they do have it additionally for sale. I didn’t see it on website. So maybe later on you may want to check link in description. Maybe they have it by now. But again, I know hot. If you want this bike, check link below. I’m going to have like $100 off or something like that with my code. And can I recommend this bike? 100%. I think it’s a very wellbuilt bike. Um I don’t know if it’s well it’s b built in China as most of the bicycles but they told me the brand is known in Japan so I can feel like quality uh control like is better than most other bicycle. It was very well packed. The assembly was pretty easy. It I assembled off the camera because it was kind of late. So it’s very simple. You just need to attach the wheel, front wheel, handlebar attach, and the pedals. That’s it. And the bike. Actually, I didn’t do any adjustment to brakes. I didn’t do any adjustment to derailer. So, it’s uh just put the air 20 PSI and it’s ready to go. So, if you’re looking for affordable, easy go like, it’s good. Also, you have options to attach the front basket or rack over here. So, looks like this same attachment I saw on some other brands. So if they don’t sell it, you may want to find with another brand they may sell it because looks like it’s kind of generic uh type of frame attachment. So that’s maybe available.
