[Applause] this with Links Media and this is what we got to do tonight because the something’s going on. I think my computer got hit with a virus. So, we got to do it like this. We got the green screen. That’s that’s the backdrop for tonight. But anyways, we’re going to get on with what happened today. So, we’re going to start off with uh the intermediate sprint and then we’re going to get into Ben Healey’s amazing breakaway. But before you do that, please, if you can, hit the like button and make sure you subscribe to the channel. You know, it helps the algorithm. It helps me get out there cuz, you know, so many other people want to see this. So, hit the like button and so we can share this with everybody cuz this is what’s up. Anyway, like this to friends, this is what we’re talking about. So, it was amazing day for Ben Healey, but let’s get into the intermediate sprint. So, I tried I I’ll pull up the intermediate sprint results for you. And you have um Jonathan Milan, who is still in the Let’s see. I’m pretty sure that’s the that’s the uh profile. I don’t want the profile that. And so, go to the green points. If we go to the green points competition, we see Jonathan Milan is on 112. We got Venderpool on 108. We got Talibot on 106 and my name G Becca on 102. Tim Maler, he’s a sort of a bit far back. I mean, but that’s just one win and he could be back possibly in the lead. Uh that’s a Jonathan Milan doesn’t take any points with uh he’s on 72 and then like you know they’re like just a bunch of other guys. I would say they’re nobody’s but those are the main guys that I mentioned who will be contesting the the uh the sprint. So this is what the sprint looks like. The sprint was uh it was sort of a surprising uh intermediate sprint. It was a bit quiet. It’s been a bit tame since uh Peterson went out. The sprints have been contested but not really contested. And Binnie is just sort of looking only like a shadow of himself. So he got beat by Matthew Vanderpool in the sprint. Now Matthew has beaten Binnie before in the sprint is not unheard of. But like Binnie like last year he was just unstoppable. So, don’t know what’s going on and we just hope that whatever’s going on, even if it doesn’t happen this year, we hope that Benikica could correct it next year going forward. You know, hopefully, you know, I guess with the big pressure on the head and everything, winning the green jersey and all the mans from his country and everything sort of left him a little lacking. But let’s get back to the the sprint. So, so sorry, so sorry. So, the sprint was won by Jonathan Milan. That was intermediate sprint. Second place went to Matthew Vanderpool. And then third place went to uh Binium G. So that leaves Milan, like I said, on 112. Matthew Venderp is on 108. So he’s he’s trying to stay in the competition. And Benium G is in on 102. So that’s how the intermediate spread went. And um yeah, it is what it is. But then we get into the man Ben Healey, the amazing Ben Healey. Ben Healey with 47 kilometers to go put in this massive attack. I mean, he put in a monster of attack that like he just waited like he just put in that he put in one big attack and waited and then he got like 20 30 seconds and he’s got like 40 seconds and then Michael Store and Quinn Quinn is Quinn is Quinn Simmons they decided to tried to counter the attack but they sort of waited a little late. They let Ben Healey get a march on him. Ben Healey is not the guy you get a let get a So it’s Quinn Simmon. So Ben Healey is not the guy you let get a march on you. So once Ben Healey got he got the gap and he got he like he he had the space. He is just a monster on the bike man. And the other thing Ben Healey like he this is his type of course like the guys look at the courses and think like yeah this is this is the course that I’m going to go for it. And he definitely went for it. He got like a a minute. He had like a minute on like Quinn Simmons. Quinn Simmons is a power on like he’s I believe if Quinn was chasing then by himself, he probably would have caught him. But because he was working with Michael Store and he didn’t want to do it’s like when you working with somebody, you don’t work as hard as you would when you by yourself because you don’t want to do all of the work and carry someone else up to the break. So he wasn’t putting in the same effort that he would normally put in by himself. And I think this is where they came short. Michael Store is not the guy known for the long long broke breakaways. He’s he’s a climber guy. Like the climbs were was were was shorter and punchier today. Not long. Like if it was a long climb, he definitely would have got it rid of Quinn Simmons and maybe even caught Ben Healey. Excuse me. But because the the climbs were were shorter and punchier. So it made it a little harder for for Michael Store to So it was a tough day for Michael Store to really do anything, but to still finish third on the stage was well done. And he’s like, you know, putting the world on notice, let letting the world know that yeah, here’s Michael Store and like to the rose and we are in the house and we we’re here to do a thing. So Ben Healey when he went away like he the time just gradually creeped up. It was like a minute. He was holding a minute. He was thinking that he’s probably only going to hold a minute, but then it just it just went mad. It just like it just the gap just started going out further and further. And like I said, I think it’s mainly because Quinn Simmons was riding with Michael Store. Had he not been with Michael Story, he probably would have either closed the gap or gotten a lot closer. It would have been even a smaller gap, but that’s that’s just the way things go. So Ben Healey ended up finishing with uh 2 minutes and 44 seconds ahead of Quinn Simmons and Michael Story. That’s a big gap. He pushed the gap up to almost 3 minutes on his own. That’s a big heft toy gap. And then Eddie Dunar and the guys that they were in the breakaway group with was Eddie Dunar, Simon Yates, Will Barta, Harold Taj T Harold Tajetta, uh and Matthew Vanderpool. And that was everybody that was in the break and they were a further 321 back. Matthew Bander was uh 358 back and he was that close because at one point he he was like like 2 minutes and 50 seconds in the lead of the leader, you know, in the leader jersey and and I’m pretty sure like Tagato wasn’t that concerned with losing the jersey because it’s only day six and it’s a long way to go. So you really don’t want your team riding on the front for the next how many other days until like when it really really matters. So that means uh so now Albertson is going to be at the front trying to keep Matthew you know it’s it’s like having someone else take up the responsibilities and that is sort of what you want you know someone else taking up the responsibilities because you know uh team UAE has to compete basically against Vizma Lisa and Visma Lisa bike tried today they tried they tried to um push hard and punch hard and tried to put in a few attacks but they did get Simon Yates in the breakaway I mean, he’s so far back on GC. It didn’t matter. But it was good, you know, they had somebody out up in the break representing, you know, his Melissa bike, so it wasn’t that bad a day for they’re not concerned about winning the stage, but, you know, just to have someone in the break just putting everyone on notice. And so, like I said, it’s only day six of the the tour. And you know, TA doesn’t want his guys, you know, doing all the work for the next what uh 18 19 days, not 19 days, but 15 days. That’s that’s that’s a lot of work. So, you know, passes the work off to someone else and then waits, you know, waits until, uh, you know, the, you know, the real state is where he needs his boys to take care of the work. So, this is what tomorrow’s stage looks like. Tomorrow’s stage, oh my goodness, it is bumpy. It is like it’s going to be a tough day tomorrow. Today was hard. Tomorrow is going to be tougher. Tomorrow is definitely going to be a tougher day. How much elevation is there? Is it’s uh so it’s 2,96 m for the day. And it’s crazy because 2,000 m it looks a lot more. So you have uh finishing on a category three climb category. Then prior to that is category three or four. The the the sprinter point is like way in there. So this is a good chance unless a breakaway even if a breakaway goes up as long as it’s no more than like five right Benny still has a chance. But this is a chance because of the profile at the stage depending on how Benny’s feeling. This is a good day Binnie could get the most points on the um on the uh this this the intermediate sprint. But we’ll see how he goes if he’s able to handle, you know, stay in. I don’t know. I just just Benny’s not riding like Binnie that we know. So that’s that’s what the profile looks like for tomorrow. And other crazy thing is the first rest day doesn’t come until stage 10. That’s a long way. It’s usually about six or seven days. Like you usually be getting the rest day like in a day or two, but it’s like stage 10. That’s a that’s next week. So the the that’s that’s yeah that’s a long time. That’s a lot longer than normal. But anyway, that’s that’s how it’s going. Like I said, the first rest day isn’t until after stage 10. And to me, that’s that’s a long way. This this is they are really trying to destroy the riders. I I don’t know what UCI is thinking, what ASO is thinking. you know, you want to see a good race, but you you don’t want to uh put the rers’s health because basically when you’re riding that hard for that long, your body’s going to get weaker. Like, you’re using all of your resources just to move your paddle your bikes forward. So, what happens is your body, you know, you’re draining everything from the body. The body gets thinner and you know, you lose a lot of weight and when you get down to like, you know, like next to 2% 1% body fat because you’re riding so much. so hard that now the body can’t protect itself. So if a fan comes along and you shake their hand and they may just wipe the nose, you got a cold. Someone breathes on you and they have a bit of they only have a tiny sort of like an inkling of a cing, you got a cold, you know. So it it’s sort it’s it’s yes, we want to see a tough race, but we don’t want to see the rider’s health put in jeopardy. So that’s something else we got, you know, we’re going to talk about on another occasion. So anyway, that’s about it. It’s Lisa with Relax Media. Appreciate you for tuning in. Please hit the like button. Please subscribe to the channel. And we look forward to stage seven tomorrow. It’s going to be a doozy. Right. [Applause]
