Join me on my FIRST bikepacking adventure from Munich to Ammersee! Only 2 hours of sleep, train delays, and encounters await! 🚴‍♂️⛰️

🎥 SHOT IN STUNNING 4K with DJI OSMO POCKET 3 + DJI MIC 2 – Experience every moment of this raw, authentic bikepacking journey with crystal-clear cinematic footage and professional audio quality! The incredible stabilization captures every bump, beautiful landscape, and exhausted moment perfectly.

📖 THE STORY: This is Episode 1 of my bikepacking adventure series, and what a way to start! After getting only 2 hours of sleep the night before, I somehow managed to make my way from Munich to the stunning Ammersee region in Bavaria. This isn’t just a cycling video – it’s a real story of determination, unexpected challenges, and the magic of bikepacking.

🚂 TRAIN CHAOS: The day started with typical German efficiency… NOT! Train delays and cancellations meant I had to adapt my plans on the fly. You’ll see the real struggle of traveling with a fully loaded bike when public transport doesn’t cooperate. This is bikepacking reality – not always pretty, but always an adventure!

🤝 FELLOW BIKERS: One of the best parts of this journey was meeting other cyclists on the road! The bikepacking community is incredible, and these random encounters with fellow adventurers added so much to the experience. You’ll see genuine interactions and shared stories that make solo travel feel less lonely.

🌲 MUNICH TO AMMERSEE ROUTE: Starting from Munich, I headed west to the beautiful Ammersee region – one of Bavaria’s most spectacular lake areas. The distance from Munich to Ammersee is approximately 35-40 kilometers[41][43], making it perfect for a first-day bikepacking adventure. The Ammersee is part of the famous Fünfseenland (Five Lakes Region) and offers incredible cycling paths with stunning Alpine views[3][4].

🎬 CINEMATIC STORYTELLING: This isn’t just a cycling video – it’s a story. Despite the exhaustion from minimal sleep, I wanted to capture the authentic experience of what it’s really like to start a bikepacking trip. The raw emotions, the beautiful landscapes, and the unexpected challenges that make these adventures so memorable.

🚴‍♂️ TECHNICAL SETUP:
📱 Camera: DJI Osmo Pocket 3 (4K/60fps with incredible 3-axis stabilization)
🎤 Audio: DJI Mic 2 (professional wireless microphone for clear narration)
🚲 Route: Munich → Ammersee (West of Munich)
⏱️ Day 1: The exhausting but rewarding first day story

The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 proved to be the perfect companion for bikepacking videography – its compact size and professional stabilization made it ideal for capturing smooth footage while dealing with the fatigue of minimal sleep. Combined with the DJI Mic 2’s crystal-clear audio, every moment of this adventure comes through beautifully.

🇩🇪 ABOUT THE REGION: The Ammersee region is famous for its pristine lake, surrounded by rolling hills and traditional Bavarian villages[11]. The area offers excellent cycling infrastructure and is easily accessible from Munich via S-Bahn (Line 8)[47], though as you’ll see, public transport doesn’t always go as planned!

Why only 2 hours of sleep? Sometimes life doesn’t align with adventure plans, but that’s what makes these trips so real and relatable. This episode shows that you don’t need perfect conditions to have an amazing bikepacking experience – sometimes the chaos makes the best stories.

Hey, welcome to the channel again. Today we are in Ames, I think it’s called, and I’m going to tell you the story of the first day and how it went. Well, I’m cooking my food as I arrived to the camping place. So the day started with me leaving really early on with the bike and it was like really really early on and then I got to the train everything was fine but then the train got really late. They had to change the train. Apparently someone made a fire in Munich so the train got cancelled. I mean like they they had to stop it on Nuranago or something which is like a far away place. Then we had to I mean I had to take the local train which took another 2 hours. So I was really really late compared to what I had on my mind to you know start the journey. And then I met these cool guys who were also bike packing. So that was pretty nice actually. We had some chats with them. One, two of them were going to go from Austria, Vienna to Budapest. They were young. Two friends from Berlin. And then there was this other guy who was also from Berlin. And he was going to go past the Alps. I don’t remember where he was going to end up, but that was basically it. And then it was already about three hours passed. So yeah, I started the day really late and I already had like only two hours of sleep, two, three hours of sleep and then it started raining like really hard. I waited out the rain which made me even late still. Then I went on the road, started the journey. I wanted to make a Munich vlog, but I was only able to get some parts to just pass through the city. Everyone, welcome to the first episode of biking from Munich to Amsterdam. I won’t be able to show you all around Munich, but what I will do is pass by one two places that is actually known. So, to the next point. I have still 43 kilometers to go. Yeah, this wasn’t nothing is going according to plan so far, but uh it could be worse, could be worse. Let’s see how it goes. [Music] Okay, one thing I’ve been kind of missing in Berlin, I guess, is the fields. Belgium has played a game on me. I’m not used to the fields, bro. This is nice of you, though. [Music] Honestly, yeah. I was just like, “Okay, I need to get to this place.” Then I started going from Munich to to the camping place. I think this lake is called Ams Lake. And you can’t see it now, but behind the clouds, you can actually see the Alps. Anyway, I started the journey. The roads weren’t the best. And at some point, I was I found myself in the middle of a highway. For some reason, Kumut put me on a highway. I don’t even know if this is legal that I’m on this road or safe for that matter. I thought Comet wouldn’t do this, bro. I feel betrayed. Yeah, this is not really a a safe place, I think. Like, the weather is good, though. The sun is actually shining now. It’s starting to shine. Feels pretty good. If only it wasn’t endangering my life. Yeah, man. So, that didn’t feel safe at all. So, Kumut, please fix that. Anyhow, after that there were some really nice natural places like I was finally actually seeing some civilization, some different vibe from like a city vibe because it wasn’t much like there wasn’t much going on before. It was just city roads and it got kind of even spooky because like it was really really foresty, you know, like really natural but it was also really exciting here. Oo, this is scary, man. It’s so exciting at the same time. Okay, 4 kilometers until the campsite. Almost done. Then I realized how calm it was. how calm everything was, how calm everyone was. And I just loved it, you know, even though I was tired, it was just so calming. I didn’t even get frustrated that I was, you know, biking all the time. And then I came to the camping place and we have come to the campsite. I tried to make the tent, but it took so much time. Oh my god. People were so nice, by the way. They were like I don’t know. They were really nice. It was so good to see. [Music] That’s going to be cozy, bro. The sleeping bag. And I think it’s actually pretty good for this weather. In the menu tonight, we have pretty good stuff. As you can see, um, tom tornonyi with, uh, some ketchup, I guess, and tomato paste. I’m very Yeah, I’m going to take a shower and then be right back. And after that was done, I took my shower and now I’m cooking. It’s just amazing, man. It’s worth it already. Like, I’ve never seen Alps before. It’s It was so magical to just get a glimpse of it even. And I’ll get closer and closer on the trip. It’s going to be scary because now that I see the roads, it’s um yeah, it’s not the easiest to pass by, but you know, we’ll see how it goes. It’s definitely exciting. It’s like these are memories for sure. I Yeah, I’m going to vlog these like every day and make it this way in the cooking part. Everything is done and tomorrow the plan is I’m going to wake up early and then start my journey to the next place. I think I’m going to have to travel about 80 or 90 kilometers if I’m not wrong. So yeah, we’ll see.

  1. Holy shit. You were scared in the road through the forest near the campsite . But you just stood on the highway filming while the cars rushed by. Real close by. That was scary and dangerous. 😮😮
