Hello cyclists. Today a really cool, beautiful bicycle. It’s the newest edition from Limo. It’s the urb edition. [Music] As you probably seen on this channel, Lemo offers new models. So I think it’s quite interesting how Lemo diversifies the brand in a really cool and slow way. And after almost sort of a mountain bike, now here comes the urban edition. So the perfect commuter bike. But before we go into all the smart features and dive really deep into the brand, how does it drive and would it be the perfect companion for commuters? The Lammo urban edition is the response to Van Move as Move did just launch the latest series, the S6. And in my opinion, Vanmove did look a lot what Lammo was offering. So, I’m not so sure if the urban edition is the response to Venmu or if Venmu the S6 series maybe had a really close look at all the features of the Lemo Urban Edition, but the name states it. The Urb edition is the perfect companion to um commuters because you do have a very upright sitting position. And it’s very comfortable, not only to the more compact frame geometry, but also because it has the suspension seats as a standard part. Also, due to the new handlebars that Lammo offers with the urban edition, you do sit very upright because it is bent a bit and in combination with the Argo grips, it feels really comfortable because a lot of the weight is um more in the back and not so much on your hands or on your shoulders and back. Now, I’m tackling really bad cobblestone. One of the advantages where my studio is because there’s so much cobblestone, I can really test the bikes how they behave on the cobblestone. But due to this um sitting position and the suspension seat post and in combination with the really chunky big fat tires, it is absolutely okay to cycle even over really bad cobblestone. Also, the urban edition comes with a new design. As most of the limo bikes, not most, all of them are having a matte finish. This one is glossy and the color is called downtown gray. So, bit like an off gray, but I heard that there is a new color coming soon. So, if you want to keep track, maybe follow us on Instagram and maybe also Lemo. Not maybe follow Lemo off on Instagram. They’re doing really good content. The motor is located in the rear hub and therefore it feels a lot like being pushed and it’s a very sportive way to have support. There are three modes of pedal assistance in total. And to be honest, most of the time I was cycling without any support because with the 10 gears this bicycle has, it was absolutely okay. And the bike is not so heavy. And also because and that’s this is very typical for Lemo, they do offer a lot of support even when you choose the first level of pedal assistance. So for me as I’m more a cyclist that prefers to cycle just 18 kilometers in the city because then I feel more comfortable to see what’s happening around me. And I don’t know, I think in Hamburg you do have a green wave when you cycle 18 kilometers. So all the lights are green. But uh with Lemo definitely a bicycle if you prefer to gain high acceleration pretty soon. So most of the time as for now for example I’m in the first mode of paddle assistance and if I tackle inclines super easy in the first uh level of paddle assistance. The motor has 14 Newton meters of torque which is if you compare it to other ebikes um that are called urban or commuter bikes. This is very typical but the limo motor indeed is very sportive. So you have a lot of really cool acceleration. There is of course a torque sensor which is um not in the bottom bracket but in the motor and therefore Lemo says it’s a more natural even more natural riding experience and a bit more precise. When cycling a new bike, a very sportive one like the Lemo, then you need brakes that work really well. And the hydraulic disc brakes from Lemo work perfectly. I tested different uh scenarios. So, when it was wet and raining, when I was cycling over really wet and slippery cobblestone, but they worked really well. It’s 160 mm in the front and in the back. So, the discs have a size that I would say are perfect if you cycle in the city. The bike comes fully equipped with fenders and a rear rack for panes. So, if you’re a serious commuter, there’s no excuse. No matter how the weather is, no matter um what time of year it is, the Lemo could be your perfect companion. Like, one of the things that Lemo offers is that there is a dual motor hub. So, you can switch the motor completely off and you can cycle this bike like a regular manual bike. because um maybe you had it before. If you cycle an ebike and your battery is uh all of a sudden empty, it’s quite difficult if the motor is still attached cuz then it feels really dull and quite difficult to cycle your bicycle without any energy. One of the features I really like is the bell. Listen, sounds a bit like a submarine, right? But I think it’s pretty friendly. And um yeah, I think it’s really cool and nice feature. [Music] One thing that’s also really important is of course the gearing system. So this one has a 10-year Shimano DR gearing system, which is super reliable, very standard, but not in a bad way. So for me, it was absolutely enough when I was cycling without any support at all. The range was like perfect for me because I had all the flexibility to whether drive without any assistance from the motor or when I was cycling even in level two or level three. Lemo also offers a belt drive solution. But then you do have only a single speed but a belt drive does have quite a lot of advantages. It lasts up to three times longer than a chain. So, approximately 30,000 km and it needs no oil and grease and it doesn’t lengthen, but you’re not as flexible concerning the gearing because a single speed it was like super trendy. Um, I would say like 10 15 years ago, but for now, if you really do cycle a lot, I think maybe the gearing system with the Shimano Shimano 10 gears is the better option for you. Also pretty cool is that you of course can service it in every bike shop. Speaking about service, so there is of course the flagship store in Berlin and Lemo offers more and more cooperating bike shops where you can service your Lemo bike because there are some parts and components that are produced by Lemo and like a normal regular bike shop could not really help you. There are of course a lot of smart features cuz Lemo is known for a lot of smart parts and digital um solutions. For example, you can connect if you do have an iPhone, you can connect your bike to the phone and you see where your bicycle is. Of course, the bike comes with an app. And for example, with the app, you can lock and unlock your bicycle cuz there is a lock in the motor in the rear hub. I would always recommend still to use a regular lock to attach your bicycle u maybe to a post or to a stoplight. Also, there is some GPS tracking in the smart pack which is of course an IoT device. So all the updates, all the software, it is connected to the smart pack. The smart pack, as you probably know from all my other reviews, is also a power bank. So, you can connect your mobile phone, your computer, your drone, or whatever is important to you and needs energy, you can connect it to your smart pack. Also, very smart feature that is not very digital, but it carries your digital device is the smartphone holder here in the stem. I just love it. It’s very satisfying to open and to close it. And I think it’s pretty cool because no matter what um mobile phone you own, no matter who the manufacturer is or what model you have, every mobile phone fits perfectly into the holder. So definitely maybe even a piece of engineering art. Also, what I like is the solution of the handlebars and like sort of the cockpit. So the left button, it’s the bell. I just can’t get enough of it. And with the right button, you choose the different modes of pedal assistance. If you push just once, you go up. And if you push twice uh quickly, then you go down. Of course, the bicycle is fully equipped. So, if you, for example, live in Germany, it comes with all the reflectors that you can install to the spokes. And it has a front and a rear light. The front light is still a torch, so you do have a little key, and you can take out the light. It also has a um extra battery which is charged by the smart pack and you see in the very cool display. You see how the battery of the torch is um charged and of course you also see how the smart pack is charged. The rear light is very beautiful I would say. You know I’m very keen always on how the pedals are and how the light solution is. And here it’s attached to the rear rack and it also has brake lights. I tried to simulate it. Not sure if you can really see it. The frame is made from aluminum and the fork is from carbon fiber. So the bicycle is not like a super lightweight, but it is pretty lightweight even with the smart pack. And if you decide to ride it like a manual bike, it’s really super easy even to carry it up a few flight stairs. I really love the design. So besides the frame that has this off gray, everything is pitch black. So I really um like the design choice of Lemo again cuz if you have a look at all the other models, I think it’s very special, very particular, and very distinctive. And of course, we all want to arrive in style, don’t we? The bicycle of course has a price, but it’s in comparison to Vanmu or to Kawaii is very attractive concerning the price because the Lemo Arb edition at the moment costs €2,469.
