The Strasbourg–Kehl Europe Bridge is a border road bridge between Germany and France over the Rhine . It is a four-lane road bridge which allows the passage of pedestrians and cyclists on both sides of the roadways. It is the only road bridge linking Strasbourg to Kehl and until the opening of the Deux Rives footbridge in 2004, it was also the only crossing of the Rhine for pedestrians and cyclists. The current bridge dates from 1960 and its name is the symbol of Franco-German reconciliation following the Second World War.
