I wanted to put riser bars on my single track cos frankly, I like the boscos, but not as much as the worm bars. I decided I wanted to go back to the LX brifters that came stock on the bike, which consequently led to me deciding to ditch 2×8 for 3×7. I then took off my NOS rhyno-lite wheelset and put the stock matrix/LX wheelset back on the bike. Very sadly, I completely lost the clamp bolt for the XT rear derailleur so the humble acera is doing the job while I wait for a new (old from eBay) mech in the mail. Topped off the “retro-mod” by ditching the DTH for some dart n smoke I had lying around. It’s rideable but I defo need to dial in the brakes a bit more, but it’s been a long day.
I’m feeling this build is primed for a threadless headset and some threadless forks!

Good slick tyres that are like DTH & billy bonkers but are NOT the DTH and billy bonkers? I don’t like the dth, prefer the bonks but not great. Moving to a city soon, want something fast, maybe somewhat durable, and easy to get on and off a 17mm rim to fix inevitable flats…
