What is up everybody and uh welcome back to MTB Crawley. We are currently on our way to uh to Bugish Lake via Radio Mercury. This is Radio Mercury Lake. I I believe it actually has a different name. I can’t remember it for the life of me. Giant sycamore. That’s actually a beast of a tree. That’s huge. Uh the lake is just here to the uh to the left. I’ll show you it on screen briefly. It’s not that big. And this was the old radio Mercury mansion which is now a children’s daycare. Got some kids up there setting up setting up some tents. They look like they could be staying here overnight. It is a Friday after all. So could be some fun Saturday activities. God, I haven’t been through Radio Mercury in a hot minute. It’s not that big. It’s a It’s a little bit longer than it is wide. We’re going through the wide part now. So, we we entered Radio Mercury at that bridge like 30 seconds ago, and we’re now exiting it. It’s a little bit longer than that, but it’s still quite a nice little forest. Um, yeah, we’re going to head down here, I believe. So, I got the mic attached today. Uh, I’ve already tested it on more than one occasion, and it appears to work really well. So, even though I’m traveling at approximately 27 miles an hour at the moment, what on earth is that? Oh, that car’s The wheel on that car, I don’t know if you can see it, but yeah, that’s had an accident clearly. Crossing over publish roundabout now. Uh I think yeah we’re not going to town center. We’re heading up here drive heading towards our I think it’s chills roundabout and then we’ll be into pubish after that. It’s another gorgeous day. Not going to be too hot today at all. It’s approximately 25 C. I don’t know what that is in Fahrenheit. Um, very comfortable. You could stay out here all day and be be perfectly perfectly comfy. Now, a dual carriageway roundabout. Typically, and I will be honest, I don’t use the road to cross these because cars are coming pretty damn fast. However, I will this time. I normally just hop up on the curb just here. Uh follow it down and uh cross at a at a safer point. It should be fine. It is the middle of a work day or very early in the in the work day. So most people There we go. There we go. See? Easy peasy. Oh no. Oh, it’s been resurfaced. Okay, we just had some sign markings that I just passed saying that this road is being worked on. And you can tell this tarmac has recently been laid, but not to the point where the the loose gravel is flying up at anyone. It looks like it’s already been set, which is great cuz if there is one sign above all else, that sign there, that is a terrifying sign to a motorcyclist because that means that the road you’re going over has been torn up. It’s been relayed and it may not be in a final stage, which this is. The final stage being having the actual black stuff put over the top. They often times just leave it as the sign says there, loose chipping. And you come through here on your motorbike and it’s like going for a sand blaster. You know, the the bikini fairing at the bottom of the bike protecting the the exhaust and somewhat the uh the radiator. You will lose paint. You will definitely lose paint if you come down one of these roads on on your bike. I did it on more than one occasion on on my Suzuki. And uh it left some horrible stone chips. And considering stupidly the bike was pearl white, but the paint underneath was really really dark. So, as soon as the stone chips appeared, it was very obvious that there’s huge stone chips all over my beautiful motorcycle, which I no longer own. I got rid of it in 2019. It was getting too old, but still, that was a fun bike. I own that for 12 years. And for all of my nating, we are towards the end of Bubish now. Well, not towards the end. Getting towards the uh the end. We’re coming up to the dentist surgery here on the the left. Some nice wood carvings here. Got a frog, a little rabbit, another rabbit. Uh that’s clearly a fox. It’s been painted. Uh squirrel and a duck and a woodpecker, maybe. I don’t know. Bug shops roundabout. We are going to go straight over here down Breezehurst Drive. And then we can set ourselves up to uh to go into here after we break a little. There we go. Did I say left? I I did mean right clearly cuz I took a bloody right. Oh, this used to be uh this is probably a good one for Scott. He’s going to enjoy this. This used to be the ledger center area. I believe the ledger center used to either be here or the field to the right. I’m not entirely sure. It looked very different now though. I’m pretty sure it was this field. the leisure center was cuz I can remember a giant metal slide that used to burn you if you went down it in the summer. It used to take layers of skin with it. The ‘9s were a different time. Yeah, I’m pretty sure the ledge center or maybe it’s it was around where the uh this new estate is. I can’t remember exactly, but in any case, there’s a good view. What’s what three? Bring that down. Clearly a bit too fast around here. Nice. [Applause] We are now in Bug Park. I think technically this is the car park, but maybe when you cross the next bridge, which we’re coming up to, you that’s when you’re technically in Bubush. Yeah, it’s definitely the car park. Looks a little bit busy, doesn’t it? It’s on two. It’s fine. Yeah, it is on two. I’m looking at my my assist system. See what we want. Right. Let’s put it down to one. That’s why we pass uh all these people. Hello, baby. Would [Applause] you like a hat? I think right back onto the adventure and I’ve now believed we are in Bubish. as in Bubish Park. So, I’m just going to check it out to see viability as in can I take a a good shot around this lake or is it going to be quite busy? I think it’ll be fine. Bubish is normally I’ll come to a stop here real quick just so you can see. Bubish is normally not as busy as Tilgate. Tilgate is a very central central place for Kley town. Everybody knows it. It’s the biggest park in Kley. This one’s just a little bit smaller, little bit more compact. Nice little castle drawbridge type thing there. Yeah, I think this will be fine. I’ll go and find a a little smoking spot first of all so I can get absolutely wrecked and then and then we’ll take some uh some 360 video of the entire lake. I guess I just make sure that I can circumvent it. I do like these trails more. I must say this stuff feels a lot better under uh mo uh mountain bike conditions, tires, than a normal pave does. You can tell it’s got a there’s a lot more grip to it, a lot more traction. Coming through here in the wet or the winter is actually a lot better than going around tillgate. Tilgate is normally covered in leaves and because it’s slick tarmac which is fine. Sometimes uh sometimes it can give way a little bit. Good boy. Good boy. You’re very excited doggy. I think he’s been swimming. Yeah, you can. You can certainly bet it. I’m pretty sure there’s going to be a left turn around here somewhere and take us all the way. Oh, maybe I could have gone through there. Let’s h that may take us quite close to the swims though. Not sure if pe if people are fishing there they definitely won’t appreciate me getting that close to them. The only way to know is for me to check it out. But this probably isn’t that scenic. You can still see the lake but it’s not ideal. There was a trail. Yeah, there was a trail down here.
