hey folks how you doing welcome to the channnel welcome to back packet Adventures so I’m heading down on Friday nothing think has gone to plan I’m now on the gravel bike last minute change i’ plan to go 290 km to London on the road bike all way to go M the road and unfortunately cranks or the hore bottom back back here or whatever it is is creaking like crazy so I jumped onto the gravel bike really quickly and of course don’t fancy travel in 290 km on a ravel bike all the way to London especially not with 45 mm tires like I have so decided to jump in the car spare the moment get Plan B into effect so just left Newark North Gate station so prob dropped 100 miles off this entire 3- day four days actually Friday night Saturday Sunday and Monday Target for tonight to get past P go to bed at a comfortable hour we can arrive in central London at 2:00 in the afternoon that’ be fantastic it come up on camera but I just found a pretty little Bridge kind of just stopped also to uh put me a head torch on as well give a little bit of extra light it’s it’s got it’s that time when it’s not quite dark and it’s not quite light enough and it’s kind of Doom head in a little bit good morning folks just coming up to 6:00 set my L for 22 just chilling out for a while just on the edge of this field nice nice comfortable here we just set myself away from everything there is about 135k to Central London so going to take it nice and easy the actual Dage down the road don’t start well this know if it’s should start time but I’m going to probably start it between 7 and 8:00 I think so just arrived in huntingon just gone to the local Sab walked myself in there PL me bike up right near the security desk no one there yet there go for breakfast protein yogurt CLE quants protein chocolate milkshake thing course some water as well probably about halfway along this route on my way to London Fields probably not picked the flattest route could have done currently at 146 M of our SE level 27 to go I’ve just had lunch on this on a human Park just started raining as well a bit of a climbing at the moment I think I’ve got less than 20 mil [Music] so right been lond Fields what is it half 2 in the afternoon something like that yeah half 2 so got ages into got ages until the ride starts the cricket at the moment no idea how it’s played I found myself a grouped people to uh while the afternoon away with this is the uh the solo tree it’s the the lonus tree is it the L lus tree yeah so I think we’re going to head off soon comes down to itch it itching to go we’ve got Pete on the end we got a Lee we got a B in the middle get out there and go and enjoy it [Music] so Francis in front G in the Christmas lights she’s changing GE down to get ready for the hill this a hill yeah it’s what they call them Ry apparently now you can’t see much part of a blinking [Music] light even moon is a spec on the screen it’s a beautiful full moon we just passed 17 km 108 go to 108 to go come to 11 p.m golden arches had to beg for food though cuz we didn’t quite make it in time to get packet of five chicken nuggets didn’t didn’t you only to find one problem vegetarian so I polished them off not all five of them though cuz I I saw people over there were disappointed so I gave I gave some chicken away how nice of me doing quite well uh it’s probably about 90k left to do so pretty much halfway I think this guy is uh still starting to get blue 15 miles to go to hit the coast I didn’t want to be riding by myself do that all the time doest it’s nice just to uh share an experience with Pete of the D Dynamo his longest ride before we started this said was about 30 miles this is quite a big jump on it’s 112 M long and you know no it’s not even in the daylight is it so uh that’s a lot of Firsts it’s about 10 11 miles to go we may get there at Sunrise it’s looking a bit close [Music] here we go here comes the sun interesting combination but not get too close it’s 209 in the morning about 3 hours sleep if that um s down for like half1 and leaving a little bit early uh long today today it’s 200k OD X DIY two Woodland water where I’ve got a nice bivy spot planned just got to get there H go have [Music] survived what an night getting out Dage two coaches on a very tight narrow road horse box coming the opposite direction Jam stalk so I’ve had to find a nearby field and go off road trying and go on the road somehow finally out the side Dage Forest yeah haven’t got very far yet just happy to uh scramble B way through 20K in care for Bonk so I’m just having some of these shakes that I bought back in London that there London Flav mango I’m going to eat loads of Pringles I’m on the edge of bonking so just got to as many calories as I can you know I’m carrying enough pack of jelly beers as well shove it in my face really really slow progress today been through Village called thet B and then on to the next one and there was a shop in the corner which clearly was stealing ssb’s logo called Red Square a church opposite so got some drinks and everything from there thre us all into the church grounds we got an hour Kip just been headwind the entire time I don’t know when I’m going to get to uh 200k Mark could just just ditch that idea and sto somewhere before then I don’t know cuz tomorrow is a really short day anyway sounding a bit down AR now I’m not too far from FF Forest so that’ll be a bit of fun e land or something well I’ve just had my tea in a place called Brandon it must be the most traffic ingested an infested town that I’ve been through on this trip even London wasn’t as bad anyway had a farmouse Pizer chicken sweet corn and mushrooms really nice update on this Ro so far it’s gone 5:00 and I think the cut off is about 11 or something we not entirely sure got a bacon time through the fence towards March some marks we going to get some uh drinks I think and after that I’m just making to us to go along really I’ve stopped yet again in a field in the CER fence I’m going assume it’s camb fence uh just head down for 45 minutes and uh you know been powered up hopefully it’s helped a little bit but I think was aching so just had to call it anyway heading on to the wash Road it’s nice for a little while because I’ve been heading south seems to be a bit of a Tailwind that has been the story of uh today just headwind wherever rden yeah not good seems like a A wise choice that I actually drove the van to nework so uh got about 70k or so less for this entire Jo to do cuz I’m struggling hey folks how you doing good morning did quite a work out what B so no Woodland um so where is here um basically got fi Farms filled over that way farmer filled out over that way and I puet right away running through the middle so I’m sat on the puet right way that just between the Hedge which means unfortunately the wind’s fing through now and it’sit a bit on the cold side even though the phone says it’s 15° it feels more like five at the moment so yeah going to get shifted packed away and I’m with my journey uh so yeah the kind of rules for when you do camp out is essentially don’t leave any other the w l around even it’s a little bit of a wrapper for Chu about stick in your pocket take it with you and uh the other one other rule really is uh arrive late leave early what I did just kept that roll see how far could go and just ended up with a bit of a spot there in the end I shouldn’t have gone there I should have gone just here out the wind a bit more [Music] first time I’ve uh come inside the windmill this is the middle floor just going to go up the top one I think it’s rather steep I say it’s the first time I’ve been up here I’m not sure if I’ve been up here before these steps are tiny got they have tiny feet back in the day that’s the gra would be hoooked onto this chain and lifted to the top of the mill now was there’s another set of stairs it’s going to be fun coming down I won’t film that coming down at the concentrating oh my God there’s another VI floor it’s that five floors this must be the top though it’s really steep woo sponsors wow I think yeah this is really is the top here we are I’m going to carefully get down [Music] here disappeared now but it’s just told me the climb at the hill at uh W and windmill just took me 1 hour and 41 minutes yes that’s how long I spent at the Windmill just chilled relaxed few coffees nice breakfast one of those pink French cakes something French fancies I think it’s called so now finally getting on the way probably going to be mostly downhill Tailwind as well at times heading towards wal from on the uh wall next so there is bit of a long climb up to that bit of a drag but today it’s going be easy I think it’s about 40 mil back to nework and of course being the Mist that I am I was even thinking about dragging the route out a bit more but yeah I think sometimes you know just enjoy it doesn’t have every way don’t have to be absolute slog Fest meant to be on holiday arrived at the highest point on the way back to Newark walk from the world just the grid cattle grid the amazing Heights of 294 m above sea level which if you live around here ever visited this area is not realistic at all there’s nowhere around here anywhere near as high as that it’s just that the AL ometer these calibrating and if you ever tried doing anything remotely after the normal on a garm you know what hard work it is to do those sort of tasks probably finish a ride by the time I’ve worked out it’s been like that all the way through yesterday’s ride as well bit too excited with the uh this is the last Hill kind of thing um from what in the world it still going up down up and down but really this is one of the uh last CL remaining climbs heading down sta Hill uh going to be heading bford normon nor Manon and then somewhere just have to hanker left and it’s just a little bit of rolling to join the uh ncn 64 at dedicated psychopath traffic free all the way into the uh the Town Center so at the moment point to North that means the winds today this morning are right behind me one of the many highlights from this bik packet Adventure has been the wind in the second half of the weekend when I’ve been at my weakest yesterday goodish to Peter such a SLO just didn’t get anywhere near well yeah about 30k short I think nowhere near the right kind of energy levels I know when it comes to sleep I’ve worked out after doing so many Ultras and races and things that 3 hours is too short for me I need at least four uh 4 hours solid sleep that’s kind of The Sweet Spot should think about more than just sleep when you stop it it’s the time off the bike getting ready in a Bey bag and afterwards as well when you go in in the morning surprising how much time you can burn but it’s all positive it’s time off bike resting your legs and everything else long Lane Road got Beaver Castle up on the right side in the distance now friend of the channel Paul Green tells me whenever he rides along here it’s always a Tailwind so I’m trusting him he’s going to be right on this occasion yep certainly true today working in my favor but yeah just flying along here at the moment effortless it’s 5 miles to New Station from here which is where I’m parked if you watched this far give yourself a p on the back and if you not subscribed already hit that button right I’m going to leave it here a nice Tailwind don’t know what time it is it’s probably about 1:00 in the afternoon nice short easy day now back to work until tomorrow get some editing done just relax say editing I probably start falling asleep halfway through it and uh sleep until tomorrow morning right I’ll see you again soon in the next one take care bye-bye just changing gear down to get ready for the hill the hill yeah it’s what they call them R apparently [Music] last Bend or two I think

I'm currently doing my Bikepacking in the Middle East (I work in Saudi Arabia) but you've no idea how fantastic seeing the green UK made me feel when watching your video! I've got a sandy 220km ride from Saudi to Qatar on Friday night but I know where I'd rather be!!!
Oh, and subscribed!
