It’s a rainy day. Because of the rain I’m wearing extra clothes, so extra dirty clothes. My bike is going to get extra dirty. Actually, all things considered,
it wasn’t too bad because I’d had some fairly warm
days beforehand. I also saw it was about
15 or 16 degrees. Then you can handle
a bit of rain. Yesterday in the sun. Today, day 76,
starting in the rain. But hopeful,
look, there’s the uncle. Let’s go. Brrr, cold on the butt. Once I was on my route it was actually off-road and very steep uphill. It was really
a pretty intense climb all the way to Prague. I could also feel my body
was empty right away. It’s one of those days where,
because your mindset isn’t great, your body isn’t great either. I saw all the negative things. And in Prague I couldn’t enjoy it
because I was way too tired. I was empty… It’s nice, but I can’t
enjoy it. It was actually
a hellish day. Great. That on top of it. I long so much for the finish. I’m going crazy. Just push through. Luckily I can push through. I hope I don’t
have another day like this, because I really feel
like quitting. A new day. New beginning. Day 77. Huppa! Let’s go. Hans had contacted me
via social media and said he wanted to
ride along the last 60 kilometers. join me on the ride. How are you? All good here. It really does look
nice here. And you? Yeah yeah. Better than yesterday. I didn’t know Hans at all. But when we met,
I instantly felt a connection. I could also feel the nerves. That he was afraid to ride along. Because it wasn’t flat. It was definitely uphill. So it was up to me
to reassure him uphill. To take him along and to support him. Sleep well, little bike. You did great! Though 4 kilos less
would’ve been better. It turned out to be a lovely evening because a lady showed up
with fresh food. Stew! Speedy! With fries. That really was,
after the day before, a huge added value. That meant a lot to me.
